I just added a pair of emerald green wide leg linen pants to my mostly neutral wardrobe yesterday. I have green eyes and cool coloring so they just made me come alive when I put them on in the fitting room. I love love love the color and the way they fit. I must have 5 pairs now and but the others were more of a looser straight leg style. I can't wait to wear these.
I like them this way, too. I have green ones as well. I like them a bit short - not billowy on the bottom, not truly "wide." I like them a little wider than completely straight. I wear them with longsleeve or shortsleeve silk shirts tied in a small knot in front, at the hips
I've already bought some wide leg linen pants from Wal-mart. They are lightweight, surprisingly cool, and comfortable. It used to bother me that linen pants wrinkle so much. Not any more! It's summertime! Who is going to care? A shorter length top looks best with them.
Wide leg pants are not very functional when you are driving or in the rain, snow,or mud! Wide leg pants make you look wide and sloppy! I do not necessarily like the tights look either! Just a nice medium straight leg or boot cut is far more flattering!
Ummm…what do you think the women that went to work in the factories and held down the fort while the men were off fighting in WW2 wore? Functional and comfortable. The high waisted, wide leg pants worn by women like Katherine Hepburn in the 1930s were incredibly flattering. Everything comes down to the fabrics used including linen which can come in a lightweight or linen blend versus a heavy weight (more expensive) linen that is going to hang very differently on the body than something not quite as nice.
Wide leg LINEN pants are classic, even for petites. They need to be cut properly and you need to know how to style them. That is why this nice lady put together this video.

A lot of people stay away from linen because it wrinkles so much…but I think it’s all part of the charm
If you buy good quality Italian linen, they don't wrinkle much. Only the crap Chinese stuff u get at Walmart will wrinkle
