Looks like something Lego would design.
Must be right up your street
Came here just to say looks like a Lego car. Which I personally feel is a compliment.
Looks good tho
😅😅😅😂😂😂
It looks like a Lego Hummer
Great that Citroen is designing quirky cars again. I really like it! Not sure about the flat windscreen, will probably be a magnet for stone chips, but looks cool. I really like that they have kept regular side mirrors rather than adding pointless cameras. And a regular steering wheel! Excellent!
tell me a Citroen model that aint ugly/quarky
@@lordrefrigeratorintercoole288 the saxo
@@lordrefrigeratorintercoole288 a lot of their 00s and 10s stuff
@@lordrefrigeratorintercoole288 Citroën BX 4TC Evolution
@@BondoV2 it‘s not quirky but ugly for sure.
Alex and an expensive production value is a really enjoyable pair
Congrats on the new gig, Alex. Well deserved.
Well done AT. Signing Alex to review things is a good move and a fine review of the Oli.
that's the result of autotrader poached a former Car Throttle host😜
Their designers must be on some serious LS but I like it. Very bold & unique👌
It's a cheap electric car Men would actually buy 👍
@@edwardfletcher7790 who told you that? A woman?
@@bigduphusaj162 I don't know what car an Incel would buy, why don't you tell us ?
I clicked on this vid over others because it has alex in it. Love the man
Who ever took 7 days writing nothing moves us like Citroen must have had one of the weirdest detentions ever 😅
Having no infotainment is their best decision ever. Those things always break on Citroen's haha
im a big fan of cars with harder edges and unique designs so seeing companies design a car like this while making it cost effective makes me VERY excited for the future
We had two Dyanes, a GS and a DS. Most people didn’t understand the brilliance underlying their design, which is when I realised most people are essentially unimaginative and insecure. Unfortunately I’m probably too old to ever own one of these, but I would if I could.
I really love this car man, yes it is weird looking but that's what makes it special nothing else out there like it so it will definitely stand out, and I love the interior color and design as well and it looks very beefy or muscular.
Looks great! The EV revolution is dead in the water unless car manufacturers realise that currently they’re just way way too expensive for most people, so let’s hope Citroen will price this sensibly. Personally I’m reconciled to having to drive old ICE bangers till I drop
Why?
And EVs are so heavy that they are counterproductive. Unfortunately no one would buy something like this unless mandated to do so.
@@ebubeawachie like I say, affordability. I’m all for EV, but just can’t afford one.
@@ebubeawachie you may not be aware that some people don’t have driveways and garages to be able to charge an electric car at home , not everyone can afford a new electric car , electric cars are simply not suitable for many motorists requirements. All like me .
Same was said when we moved from horses. Grass was everywhere to recharge the horses. ;)
Alex, excellent review! You enjoyed that! So did we! Lightweight and 'less is more'. Functional. Surely the future of e urban motoring? Trust the French to break the mould....literally! Thanks Alex.
Very cute design and love the concepts! I hope we can see more out of the box thinking, and I also hope to see more car designs that consider what happens when they hit pedestrians. The flat front and front window are a bit concerning, even if the vehicle is light
Imagine a stone hitting that upright windscreen, the whole point of them being slanted is to deflect objects hitting it, that will get panned straight away
They say the air ducts deflects objects away from the screen but surely only at speed?
@@mikejones-go8vz yeah that's it can't see the air ducts have enough force to redirect any flying objects of any decent size
I gotta say I absolutely LOVE the deisng. It looks so much what futuristic looked like in the early 2000's.
This vehicle is fantastic. I really hope masses see the value of an actual sustainable vehicle, opposed to other lectrics tagged as sustainable but having much lower m/kwh, not to mention other carbon footprint additions on those vehicles
Utter drivel. Sustainable hahaha the batteries are the worst of the worst to manufacture and get rid of. Why you trying to fool people?
@@bigduphusaj162 Battery manufacturing is consistently getting cleanner + since its lighter it doesn't need a battery that big. Since it uses recycled materials, cardboard and everything is interchengeble that also lowers the ecological footprint
It’s so similar to Toyota FJ 2!
Even have 3 wipers as FJ have 😂
I love how Alex managed to shoe horn all that makes him awesome into this video. Well everything other than rust! Good to see you doing a review on here mate!
Great to see Alex on AT. Happily awaiting more reviews from him.
Great to see Alex finally being recognised as a highly regarded reviewer of cars. I like Rory but Alex is king!
I think this is a great car. What you have to consider is that most people aren't interested in cars, they just need something that's cheap, comfortable and easy to drive. This has the potential to tick all the boxes.
You missed another total recall mention with the 3 windshield wipers
Great review, I like the intro in the car park a lot, its so true
Nice to see you here Alex, this is very cool and funny review, i hope to see u more here. 😊
Have to say Alex that this review is another step-up from your usual ramblings with Ethan or Rory, good work and keep it up!
Really didn't want to like it but the low weight and Alex reviewing it are a winning pair
the weight is really impressive considering it has a 40kwh battery.
That dig at the "Total Recall" reboot though...*chef's kiss*
I really love cars like this, utilitarian / tactile but also fun to spend time in and drive about, it just DRIVES, no confusing iPad screens and piano black inserts with fingerprints on
Love the look of that. It's definitely different and I think that's no bad thing. I'm hoping Citroen brings this into production and doesn't mess it up too much on the way though. Not too sure about those seats though... you just know someone's kid is going to wedge a Wotsit or half a Monster Munch in amongst all those holes. Cleaning those out is going to be... not fun.
Total Recall did make a comeback. The less said about that comeback the better. It always amazes me that they could make a Total Recall film that has even less in common with the Paul Verhoeven classic than the 90's Total Recall 2070 Canadian TV series.
More Alex please! Loved him on Car Throttle, love his own CZcams channel Auto Alex. Any excuse to watch more content with Alex in.
Would have liked to have heard an option as to what it's like driving with a vertical windscreen, especially with regards to the location of the door mirrors.
They need to take this weird design language and morph into a 2 seater sports car. Bit like that Honda concept which will never be made at this rate.
I definitely would love one, I've always wanted one from the first time that I saw it which was last year.
It looks like an FJ Cruiser
This is incredible. There are so many brilliant, challenging and fresh design choices packed in here. Bringing the concept back to conceptual design, can only hope this scale of leap makes it to production in the way the i3 and i8 did.
This is looking good 👍, I can see where the inspiration come from...it's humvee inspired design
Looks great . I would prefer some sort of screen for interfacing with music and satellite navigation .
I would prefer to see a little bit of fabric over the seats . Overall looks very practical
This looks awesome 🤩. I love design that is quirky, interesting, exciting, bold 😊. Hope they decide to make it, almost, as is 😊
are you blind
As french I’am happy to see Citroen is back with innovative, strange and unique designs as the 2CV, DS, Méhari, or DS Maserati...and now boring car with a standard design, so similar that I never where is my car on a parking.
Fantastic to see Alex on the channel a brilliant presenter
I believe the vertical windscreen is to keep the sun off. Negates the need for efficiency reducing air con.
I heard it is meant to reduce the needed size of a glass window and by that reduce weight and cost. Aerodynamics should be no problem since it is meant to be a city hopper
It's to reduce the weight. A flat windscreen is much smaller than one that is curved and raked.
Great Design! Great video! Such a fan of Alex! Great Job man!
Waiting for this, Citroen! Bring it to Asia as well! Thank you, Alex for this review!
Alex has the ability, personality and likeability to go all the way to Top Gear. Heres to hoping 🤞
I'd love to see the face of the detailer, when you drop it off for a full interior/exterior detail :)
If other EVs were as light and reasonably powered as this Oli I would see future in "EV Sports Cars" also, they used cardboard? :O, THAT'S AMAZING! :O ❤️
I want one, and I'm buying a new car at the moment. Well done Citroën. More like this please.
"If anyone can, I can"....Richard Hammond would like a word.
Imagine being inside a concept for the future of cars and the best you can say about the seats is "its not too bad."
did they forget about a little thing called aerodynamics when designing the front windshield?
That phone slot thingie on the dash reminds me of a cassette player
I don't think the complaints about noise are fair, if you have ever drove a vehicle on polished concrete you know it makes squeaky noises. Also think of when you drive through a tunnel and how much louder your car sounds so yeah inside a building you will hear more of the car. Outside much of the road noise would be downed out by normal tire on pavement sounds as well as absorbed by the massive space around you instead of bounced back.
The hangar looks familiar, like the one in Batman Begins , or BMW M3 break test by Jeremy Clarkson :)
Also, the sustainability part is great only when it translates to low price. Right now, a lot of green solutions cost same or more than the existing technologies.
The word Sustainable needs left alone tbh
An FJ Cruiser build in Minecraft, also make one off road version would be neat!
Citroen cars have full of character. Especially the 2cv and the BX.
Really want more info on the coated cardboard material!
Did not expect to see this lad at Autotrader!
I love how every thumbnail of people covering this car is them sat on the roof 😂
If those are UE Boom 3 speakers, they're also waterproof, float, and have a decent battery life... and you can pair about150 of them together in Party Up mode. I wonder if you could do that whilst they're plugged in, in essence having dozens of Olis streaming the same music.
awesome car! i hope we will be able to see something at least similar and NOT like the ID buzz difference to the concept one.
Who knew i was a bit thirsty for a real concept cars?!
Great review, as far as it gets.
I keep hearing him say, "To keep cost down." Lots of plastics and recycled materials are used, but the car is about 1 million pounds.
I really don't get it anymore with cars, I grew up with strong metal cars with real leather. Now, it's plastic and recycled materials with fake leather & the costs sky high 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Ah so two tiny air ducts make a windscreen, "Citroen says"
It’s basically a redesigned Toyota FJ Cruiser. I would definitely buy it as long as they could deliver on their performance promises.
Fabulous! Let's go to the production!!
So love the quirky design of the OLi.... Its one of the few cars that would take my eyes off buying a Renault 5 BEV...!!
I would ddrive one in a heart just needs a little polish for main roads, and maybe a touch more power for us in the states 75mhp for passing for highways is a must.
Alex, can you get one to O’ahu Hawai’i? That be cool thanks!!!
Total Recall!? You're a man of taste, mate. I'd vote for a remake too.
I've seen a lot of concept cars, really want to see one in production!
I love it all, except for the Hummer like windshield.
I understand what's behind it, but a small incline would be nicer.
Years of car development an improving aerodynamics to fit modern design of commercial cars and then Citroen:
Introducin you this brick on wheels
I love Alex, I used to watch him on his own channel. I can't believe he is here. My favorite reviewer. Love you buddy!
Love the design, but that windscreen…. Making a vertical windscreen is a war crime
I love it! I hope it invites more automakers to try cool and fun designs. Cars are very very dull in the U.S
Glad someone is making different cars, as well as reasonably priced cars, but not quite sure I like their design anyway, I'd rather get a 2cw that looked just like a 2cw but with an electric motor in it :). Then of course you don't need a car that goes 200 mph, but 68 is still a bit slow if you think you should have it as your only car.
Yea the speed limit on some highways where I llive is 80MPH and most people go around 90.
This is such a fun design and even though the concept is a million if mass produced because of the lack of tech id like to think it would be £27,500 RRP and lower if I was ceo it will fly off the shelf then you could bring in a more expensive one down the line with more tech.
The vertical windscreen perform better than sloped angular windscreen under rain and snow ..
I like the looks of the exterior, not too sure about the interior. Cleaning between those golf tees is gonna be a nightmare. Hope that if it does go to production it has actual windows that rolls all the way down.
And could it be bumped up to 112 mph? 68mph sounds like 1 mile short of good time and 44mph short of something that makes sense.
it’s aimed for rental companies, doubt anyone would want these, so speed isn’t a issue.
Didn't Total Recall make indeed a comeback? Or do you mean another comeback? That windscreen though.
Hands down the Best Car channel on CZcams Rory and Alex are just amazing hosts
I love seeing Alex here! He's why I clicked on this video.
The only thing that sucks about the windscreen is the fact that it's very vertical which makes rocks hit it like crazy pretty much every van and every Jeep Wrangler has some sort of cracked windshield because of how vertical the windshields are
True but square glass is a lot easier to get replaced, you can get a custom cut at any glass shop, don't have to rely on the company
I know it's a concept car, but it's funny to keep hearing they do things to keep the cost down, yet it still costs one million pounds to make.
If this goes into production and has a v max of like 80 i will buy this
I'd buy one if they released it looking like this and it had cupholders.
I think it looks cool but the windshield is concerning because it would probably crack with flying rocks or debris
Autrodater: We need more awareness
Alex: Hold my beer...
Swap the front for the back and it looks like a really cool mini pickup truck
Love this thing. And this video!
Can't help but think that if they were to make this more aerodynamic with the light-weight materials they used on this then they could possibly get a better range from the battery ?
Dam I saw this down brick lane in London got a picture
This thing is the best thing the French have done for automotive design since the Citroen SM. Bravo
Been obsessing over this car since the first pictures. If this was 4WD to match the looks, I’d be the first to buy this car. @citroen please make this car.
I want this in the us with all wheel drive and a 85 top speed or 90
TBH i thought i would hate it, BUT... for me this would be near perfect, small yet spacious and the rear load area is ideal for the Ikea runs and diy center trips, top speed is more than adequate for rural and urban driving, and possibly motorway.
If it arrives at around £25k. this will be a market changer
Looks like a storm troopers helmet from the side, the ones that use the speeders
