  • Since I lost one of my swaybar arms, I decided to try the new thicker GPM swaybar set. It should be an easy install, but I think it needs to be modded before it works as intended. You can see in the video how I fixed this.
    Partnumber is in the video.
    Next video will be a major repair on the drivetrain.
    Coming up in next video's:
    - Open diff mod in the aluminium axle housing
    - New alloy beadlock wheels (Treal Hobby)

    Great video. I was about to buy these and may have to plan on doing the 4m mod. Did your wife ever say her food tasted a little like aluminum? lol

      @@shanec8812 Nah, you can hardly taste the aluminium because of the WD40.

      @@RonaldHarkema Haha! I got caught washing rc parts in the dishwasher once. Wife acted like it was not a good idea.

    I just ordered the front and rear torsion bar kit from GPM and now I'm scared to try to install it.. not sure I like the idea of tapping out a new thread, something I have no experience with.. think I can get away with keeping the original fit or will it fail?

      You can use the original screws and see how they would work out for you. If necessary, you can always tap new threads.
      Tapping the new threads was easy. Just use a proper tapping drill bit and take your time.

    Hi, did the blue alloy ring improve the shock leak ?

    • @RonaldHarkema
      @RonaldHarkema  Před rokem

      If you put too much oil in, they will leak anyway. But I'm still happy with them.

      @@RonaldHarkema yes but they will not be empty ?
      Like with the stock one's

      @@Jerem06_ No, they will not be empty. After some minor seapage, the leaking stopped. Presumably I put a little too much oil in. I've been running them without any problems..

    So did it improve the handling of the truck? What's your opinion on their effects on the truck?

    • @RonaldHarkema
      @RonaldHarkema  Před 3 lety +1

      I already replaced the stock torsion bars by 2,5mm spring steel bars. These are 3mm. A bit more stable, but the truck will roll eventually. Recommended.
