Thanks for this Chris - I am being thrown out of the place I have rented for the past 14 years and am in the process of packing and getting rid of lots of my possessions. It's not easy at the age of 53 but I think it will be a good thing to do.
I’m due to do the same. recently committed to staying at my parents for the next 2ish years (great situation, can help parents w manual labor, we like each other’s company, close enough to the city + money saved on rent) and finished redoing my room which took about 3 weeks that i got done between the school semester and co-op (took all furniture out, fixed a huge wall hole, painted, wall mounted a tv, hung up a huge thrifted mirror, replaced couch) and have a bunch of shit in my garage that i essentially never use nor needed to break out the last 3 weeks, so i can def get rid of a ton of it. so now my room is zen af but next i gotta continue doing the same for the bedroom i claimed as my remote office and the garage, owe it to the parents. already scheduled 2 collections for the biggest things. idk why i felt the need to divulge all this info, but here you are!
