I love the way this Kalimba sounds. Would it be possible to find another that is in this same octave? Most of the Kalimba's that I have seen are in the upper ranges. I love the full body tone that this one has.
Nice very nice! :) I use blue steel, its sound is more treble. I have a Hugh Tracey Karimba and I made a cover of "Kalimba for lotus" and "Air". When I saw your video I was motivated to buy my beautiful karimba!!! Thanks for this bro! Your songs are amazing! =)
Those metal strips are wayyy thicker than the usual kalimba. Are they spring steel or another type of metal? I loved the way the lower tines sounded more...idk, ethereal than the others.
I agree, lower tines sounds great... Could you explain with more details what material did you use for tines and how you build the box please? What did you use for the rattles? Thank you.
Hi, I want to start learning this instrument as a beginner and most of the Kalimba's are very expensive, do you have any recommendations for a good and cheap alternative. Also is this instrument hard to learn?
The instrument is very intuitive to play. You can make your own or buy a Chinese kalimba on eBay for less than 10 bucks. Can't vouch for their quality, but they should do the job.
There are a shaker and tubular bell overdubbed starting from 0:23

They are not hardened steel... that's why the sound is softer...
Dow do you make one of these?

Do you have instructions for how to make it?
I don't, but there's more than enough resources on the Internet: lmgtfy.com/?q=build+%20kalimba
Would it be alright for me to use your music for my videos? I would properly credit you and link people to the music I used.
My friend... what's the scale? :)

Sheet metal strips.
