Fun fact: the man who helped started the First Opium War was the Famous William Jardine the drug smuggler and founder of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited Hong Kong’s largest 2nd business conglomerate
The first opium war starts from 1839-1842 between the British empire and the Qing dynasty the results is the British won the war and also include the treaty of Nanking is 1. The British get Hong Kong until 1997 2. The British will get 5 islands from Qing dynasty and 3. The Qing will pay war reparations
