- In today's video, we are shifting some slurry and we are using another tanker! It's a huge upgrade, is it worth trading?
Would we look at buying it?

Lol, you just know you’re a true farmer when you can drive while eating a lovely bacon sandwich and never notice that you’ve had slurry on your left hand and arm the entire time, lol. 😂👍👍👍❤️
You notice it but you just don't care.
William Poole - he’s having fun doing a hard job- no need to be judgemental about it.
William Poole shut up
I hear ya. On my farm a lot of things we do is just because that’s the way it’s always been done and it works. If it’s not broke don’t fix it.
My grandparents know you and they know i have an interest in farming so i have only recently started watching your videos and they are so awesome and inspiring 😆
Tom I want to point out. Thanks to you and your dad who are farmers, continuing to work through these difficult times with what's going on! Suppling the Nation with food/milk etc 👍
I see you're making the most of the Case. Great video as always 👍
It's always nice when you get to use new equipment.
just loved the drone shot with the mallards casually flying past and not spooked at all!
Nice to hear that MJ Modding is making your farm for fs19
Ye I think u should trade in the tanker and buy this one
Easy for a viewer to say. These things are expensive haha
i wouldnt it is not a really big tank you can get a little bigger tank for that tractor i would do that but what he said its expensive
Drdat it’s big enough for them they could go bigger for the tractor aye but a 2300 gallon would do them since there only putting out there own
2300 gallon is plenty big
Drdat the only have the case on demo so you have to have something the hurliman can pull
My favourite time of a Tuesday and Friday is definitely 2:30
Love it Tom, there's an old saying that as a farmer you probably know only too well and that's (Pardon the language) "Shit happens!" I bet you are really happy that now the land has dried enough and you've been out spreading the till you are able to get out and put the muck on. I can tell by the videos you've been itching to start getting rid of the pile and tidy up the yard. Muck is muck until you can get it on the land then it becomes gold dust! A little slurry as they say goes a long way and with the kit you've got there now I'm sure it wont take you long. The weather for the next few days looks good, so fingers crossed the forecast is right and you can crack on with the job. 👌👍
That Case really suits you, you don't sit in it, you wear it like a tailored shirt. If I hit the jackpot this weekend I'll buy you one.👍
I work at a Newholland dealership in Belgium, witch is almost the same thing as case. One of the differences between them is the way they use nameplates. The Newholland equivalent to your case maxxum 145 is actually a Newholland T6.175.
In the nameplates, case uses the basic horsepower, where newholland uses the maximum horsepower. The boost kicks in on two occasions; driving at high speeds, and engaging the PTO.
What I am trying to point out here is that your tractor doesn't just put out 145 pony's, but about 175 when you are using the PTO.
Hi Tom, we are watching from a dairy farm in New Zealand. My two year old loves to watch your videos, cows and tractors are his favourite! Really interesting to see the similarities and differences between systems in the UK and here.
Watching the spray go, with overhead air shots and the combination of music is relaxing.
I see mj modding is making your farm as a map on farming simulator
Sam _agri yeah I’m looking forward to the farm map
Hope fully he makes the yard a bit cleaner lol
Sam _agri I cant wait.
@@thewippit8717 Its a farm its meant to be messy
I saw some of the sheds and they look amazing
When I was on the farm 25 odd years ago Tom we had a Hillam tanker 3000g Big lump and it was either pulled by a 1056xl or a Zetor 9245 about 90hp. Your tractor will pull it with ease in the dry. It will be if it's wet where the issues lie.
Loved the drone footage in this one! I guess there was no wind today, lol. Love the videos.
Come on Tom give us your tractor playlist on Spotify
i'm sure it would be nice to hear and we would get a few giggles from it
I use exactly the same model and make, its been a great tanker in the 3 years I have ran it. havent had any motor problems. runs as sweet as the day it arrived
100% correct that this tanker FULL floats better than the tractor ;) I once hit a wet spot, made huge tracks with the tractor, couldn't reverse so I had to drive over, tanker 3000 gallons flew over, not floated, flew over... almost annoying but a huge relive.
It sounds like you both just love this tanker and tractors, working smarter not harder! Love it! Anything that can make a farm job easier gets my vote!👍👍👍❤️
Hi tom I’m a farmer and I wanted to let you know that when the tanker is full you can pull the lever at the hose first then run over to the tractor and switch it off keep up the smashin quality
I think it's better to have a normal pump changeover, as when I'm spreading slurry I always close the lever and put pump into neutral at the same time, then turn off pto (if pipe is on the side fill)
Smart set up, we used to just hire the same tanker and run it hard for a couple of days and do all our maize ground and grass silage feilds in one hit. Used to love a cow block bunging it up 👍
Tom is the most inspirational and always brightens up my day!
Same
Me too
That tractor certainly doesn’t look out of place with you guys , definitely the work for it! Night and day the time savings that can be made working with that sort of gear if you find the right deals (plenty good second hand machinery that holds value)
I think case will give them a good deal after their demo period has ran out. It's advertisement for them aswell. Just look at welker farms
Through expierience, (this is just us) major tanks have typically lasted less than other manufactures. The most popular around our area would probably be hi-spec or Abbey. We have 2 Cross Engineering tanks and both of them have done very well while in our possession. Very reliable, nice design, quality build etc. Our newest one was a prototype though so it did have teething trouble because it was one of the first the first long barrel galvanized 3500 gallon tanks in Ireland but ever since the few issues have been fixed it hasnt given any trouble. Worth looking into them if your going for somthing like that. A 140hp tractor will run a 3500 gallon tank on flat ground well enough. Steep ground would require a bit more power.
Hi, I'm a small farmer and I am following your channel from Morocco, great job
Bit of an obvious Comment, this, but I really do like the use of drone cameras in farming videos. Some CZcams peeps just cram in aerial shots because it's trendy (testing sports cars or fishing for pike or playing football or riding a bike or whatever), but with a farming video the views are genuinely useful. Fields and yards and tracks and ditches need to be seen, not just described.
The long shot of Tom's first load of slurry spreading with the big tanker was especially good because it showed exactly how much land could be covered with 2,300 gallons of muck. I'm not a farmer, so it's incredibly helpful to see what's what.
What's the other green tanker around the corner
Ben Colebrook what time in the video is that there
Rory O'Brien at 4:20 you can see a green tanker next to silage but not sure if that the one he means
That's their 1500gal tanker.
RADAR Michael, it’s no their 1500 gallon tanker it’s beside the cattle trailer at 3:10
14.12 is other green tanker not the blue
Trade in your tanker and hurlyman for the case and major tanker trust me u will benefit from it we did the same thing but different make tractors/tanker
Tanks a lot for the video. Try the Hurliman with the big tanker. If you have to run both in the middle of the day to get the slurry down. The boy Thorpe tank is a bit full! Cool waiting to see the video.
Hi Tom the only thing I've ever used a rain gun for is just for spreading on hill sides. And I think you would find that a rain gun would spread the slurry in more of a line than a traditional splash plate
That little Hurliman as the heart of a Deere! The red tractor seems to make some strange whirring noises...so do most of the blue tractors....strange🤔still enjoy the red tractor🤨glad you managing to get on your land...most of us now are crying out for some rain😩 keep safe out there👍 ohhh isn’t spring a pleasing season, the grass GREEN, some of the fields GREEN, the hedges GREEN, the trees GREEN and that wonderful bright sphere in the sky YELLOW...all VERY pleasing life giving colours😙😙😙😙
I'm learning such random stuff on this channel but I'm loving it!
Great video, lovely drone footage and love the sound track. Thanks.
Whats the song called
Tom what is the other tanker in the yard beside the old feeder
That is their 1500gal tanker I believe
What time in the video?
@@jerryodriscoll3691 14.12
@@jerryodriscoll3691 14:12
Yup
Dude!!! Epic drone shots 😍😍 that tanker looks really easy to use. I definitely think this is the way to go 😃
Loved the ducks flying by! It was in at about 10:40.
I wouldn’t worry Tom, my old man used to pull a 2200 gal tanker with an 85hp Massey, and the fact that your ground isn’t that hilly should mean it’ll cope with it. Can’t wait to see running! 😄
Can you explain how your slurry system works?
Hey Tom,
Obviously you would have to make a profitability analysis of the purchase, which includes interest, usage, price for new, price for old, scrap value, etc. In regards to overlapping, it's not ideal. However I think some still do it, since you spread your slurry instead of putting it down in the earth, when spreading the efficiency is fairly lower and you just do it to kinda do what you gotta do to meet plants nitrogen needs.
Great video, I bet that smaller tractor can do it. The wide tires will make it pull easier than your old tank. It’s not super big (NY farm girls or Farming Fixing & Fabricating video on it to).
Great video Tom. I just bought a 3000 Canadian gallon tanker and I gotta learn how to spread and use my tank and pump
Lovely drone shot at 5 mins moving with the clouds 💪🏼
That tractor and tanker are well matched lovely outfit
We had the same issue with the sawdust . What I found was easier was make it suck with the slurry gate open then pressurise again and it broke up and then spread it out the back hope that helps
Props to the GingerMoustache ,,, great tyre knowledge at the end , re the military type tyres which were brought into use by machinery manufacturers years age , just because there was not an alternative . Now the tyre and rim choices available to agri machines are different gravy . Good work as usual Tom , All the best to the Pemberton Clan .
Nice rig for your farm that. Our major 1700 gal tanker is on the same tyres. It just about floats over wet fields.
Ok. Subscribed and smacked the 🛎. What the Golden Warrior doesn’t know about farming isn’t a great deal of much, and you appear to be a chip off the old block. Cheers from Northern California! 👋
I'm always excited for your videos
I love the safety button on the back of the tractor they should done it a long time ago,There might be lest accidents with it.Tom what you thing about it
They have had them on the Mudguards for years now . Most of the accidents on farms are from lack of maintenance and stupidity. For instance people pushing straw into balers when blocked while still running with their foot all you have to do is carry a few wee sticks and if they get caught who care let her chomp them up easier to replace a cheap stick than your foot. Familiarity breeds comtempt. My old man always preaches it and he was main tractor ma n for contractor for years never had any accidents that way. Also never ever walk below a raised loader if a ram busts at least in old one it will come down and kill you. And alot of idiots not having brakes and handbrakes working also. Common sense saves lives, No matter how well you know a machine always be careful and use think before you do. Stay safe and have fun
Yes you mentioned the best Sunday addition would have been your good lady, but 1 more surely. .GPS Auto steer!!... Oh don't you have to clear with Blackpool Airfield as well for the drone? Sometimes I fly down Pegs Lane in Dave Morris field, the 5Km circles from BAE & Blackpool just clear each other between Ballam Road and Saltcoates Rd... Going across the road is going to bring you in Blackpool's restriction. On Dronesafe.uk website if you fancy a peek...Stay safe....
Great video Tom.The smaller tractor will pull the tanker no problem but you'll be working harder changing gear not to mention the bouncing that'll be going on.The only saving grace is your land is all flat.Enjoy
Great video tom happy easter to you and family take care and stay safe.
Good shot of the ducks Tom:):) , nice set up that, decent tanker.
Are you turning with the pto still on as you can run the risk of bending it and I’m sure you don’t want that but I know we turn the pto off and leave the hatch open to cover that bit of ground
I miss working in agriculture so much, I just had to change for financial reasons, can't wait for the mj modding to release your map, keep up the good work Tom 👍
What kind of engine is in your hurliman. We run a 2000 gallon tanker on a 130hp Massey 5713. That’s a 4 cylinder turbo engine in it. It could manage a larger tanker but it wouldn’t do it any good. For 2300 you would probably want a 6 cylinder 100-140hp tractor with a good set of weights on the front to keep her steady.
I think you should buy the Case, and start building your farm equipment around that. Then there will be no questions about can we buy this because we are under powered or too small. The amount of time and money you will save not having to hire everyone in will open a whole new world of options for your farm and it's future. Love the Videos, Great Job
Looking into more revenue streams will also help. Veal, Angus Beef, Root Vegetables.
So my commute for just over 6miles is normally close to 30 min lights take so long to change I have car crocheting projects cause your gonna sit threw one light at least maybe two or three... Now with people staying home and kids not going to physical school it's cut damn near in half and I have not got any crocheting done😆😁 but I rather not have traffic
Major Alphine has the axle going through the slurry barrel to keep the tank lower to the ground ideal for hills not sure about your hilly ground use the same tank at work with a shoe it travels well
GREAT SHOT @ 10:33 / of the DUCKS’.......COOL !!!!! 🇺🇸😂
Loving the videos Tom, especially the drone footage. The ducks flyby @ 10:29 was a nice catch. Lucky you didn’t have a bird strike 😀
Your nickname is Green Acres going forward my friend. Bang-up job flying the drone and driving the tractor!
Really good video! Tractor looks like it could cope with a tanker even bigger!!! Nice drone shots in this video, a close shave with some ducks by the looks of if it🤦♂️
Why don't you use an injector on the grasland? We're kind of obliged to in Flanders, depending on where the field is. But just wondering if you like it better for the field?
Excellent video Tom, the new rig looks really good!
Hello Tom, I’m from Australia and have watched every video of yours, Love your farm and your videos
Hi tom loving the channel atm? And regarding the map being modded on fs19 I’ve seen pictures of it so far and it looks amazing
10,000 litre tanker. Your Case could easily pull a 12,000 litre [2600 gallon] tanker and from experience of hauling and spreading nearly 400 loads of 10,000 litres each annually, the bigger the tanker the better as long as you can pull it up your steepest fields as necessary. The less drudgery the better, as it releases you to be more productive in the time saved.
Love the Oh my my song! Makes me wan to dance! Lol.
Tom if you did get a tanker think.about getting a injector on the back we have one on a abbey tanks and we pull it fine with a 145r john deere it works great for flowing the cows when they are out grazing well worth the money
Great tankers are major....we upgraded too a 2400 gallon from a similar size as your current one.....its a no brainer....less travel, less fuel, less time.....pays for itself
Love the videos best parts of the week can't wait to see and play on your farm in FS19
Close encounter of the duck kind!! Wow that was close... great vid Tom never fail to impress. Soo stoked you’re getting immortalized on Fs19!!
I like how Tom locks the case up every time he gets off it to do something else 🤣🚜💨
Good work on the farm ton
Hey Tom, how is fertilizer/manure regulation over there? I would be interested to hear more about how much you guys spread and how you decide when and where to spread.
Just out of curiosity, why not use both tractors & tankers? Move twice as much slurry.
I have the same tanker tom there good 🐄👍 +cant wait for your farm to come out in fs 19
Good video Tom I love all of your videos and have a nice Easter
Love the videos and the ducks fly by was class 👍🏻
Tom do ye have to use trailing shoe / dribble bar from now on or is it different in england
Could possibly be the best Video so far Tom! Great work. Will the case still be here come mowing time 👀?
Hi Tom nice driving Gerry kelleher
That's a mighty combination.3Ts ,(Tom, tractor,tanker.)💪.
Very good
Tom, you want to check out "Farm Fixing & Fabricating" CZcams channel. Some proper slurry tankers and 8 big tyres on their massive John Deere tractors, big operation. Of course it's in the USA, everything is bigger lol. .
You need to get self steer & sat nav on that tractor then you could do more drone work while tanking! :P
Fist field did look like one side was getting more than the other, second field seemed more even. Did you change anything?
We have an 18 tonne muck spreder on 900's. And fully loaded she floats. Don't think we have ever got her stuck!
Another great video tom 👍👍
Highlight of the week. Lockdown or regardless! Cheers mate. Farmer stuck in Nee Zealand
Boy that spreads a treat.
as a big cnh fan im loving to see that case in work, i dont have a maxxum myself anymore but we have a 2020 puma175 cvx and a 2016 puma 165cvx and the 16 model still looks like brand new inside the cab. kinda hoping you will give the maxxum the cleaning it deserves for doing such a great job ;P
i know a tractor is a tractor but nothing wrong with keeping your "office" clean now is it? also where are your gloves ? :P
Love your vids Tom and nice tanker keep up the good work!!
Hi Tom love all your vids. You should do a farm tour video
Wouldn't bother with the rain gun will be band shortly put the money towards a dribble bar 👌
It's already banned for blowing slurry its still legal for dairy farmers
@@galloglyagri896 that's what I mean it'll be band across the board shortly
Here in the Netherlands we use Shallow injection, splashplate is banned Since 1994
Nice tractor and slurry spreader. Sweet vid 😊
Good set up Tom with the case tractor 😃
