Have you ever heard of Neverwinter Fake News Media, I don't want to get into it to much but some idiots were calling you a liar and posted this list, so I in an adult manner said in the year I've followed you I have never known you to lie. I said he gives insight and ask us the community what we think on the issues at hand. I apologize, I am truly not trying to stir shit, I just didn't appreciate people calling you a liar when I sit and watch all your videos and no better.
im just getting back in the game and im be leveling from 70 to 80 will this skill setup (AOE) work for leveling?
Noting:
- Headpiece is trash, stick with the undermountain gear that gives 5% in undermountain
- Dexterity for aoe, charisma for single target
- Chestpiece is trash, use the ebony chest piece, easier to proc and goes up to 10%
- Star rovers gloves is Bis for aoe but not for the general scope, use it only for aoe, try get the 1k armpiece with 3% to encounters for single target or use the primal arms for single target.
- Feet is trash, use anyone for 'practise' only and then switch to enduring boots afterwards.
- Shirt and pants, the one with ap gain and the other with cd reduction (restoration doesn't stack with enduring boots)
- Orcus set is still better, only one that even comes close is music box set and requires you to use some other stuff to make is even comparable to orcus
. Rings, use 2 ebony rings with 3% ranged (you can have 2 of the same perks except for enduring boots) Then try to farm the better 1k versions of those from ToMM, The ring of the sage is nice for the trial but 3% ranged does the exact same and doesn't neglect ur dailies to trash.
- If you have the storyteller artifacts use 3 of them with envenomed as primary, ofc orcus being ur 4th. Otherwise use the new artifacts but for the trial you are gonna need some debuff artifacts such as wyvern, latern, black dragon, etc (none of them stack so u need different ones)
- For weapon set burnished is better, even watcher is better than alabaster
-For enchants you want radiants and 1 or 2 rank 15 tenebrous enchants in ur offense slot, radiants in defense is ok, but if you have azures or gigantics, they are ok for balancing defensive stats too, u can either balance with enchants or insignias.
- Barkshield is better for survival but fireburst works too. Switch to vorpal or bilethorn, lightning is not even close to being as good as them. The only place lightning even has room is in aoe, its complete trash in single target.
- Atwills: ray of frost, storm pillar (it gives u ap outside of combat and is even useful in the new trial when in combat due to arcane empowerment, always have it on)
- Encounters for aoe: ST on mastery (nothing else is worth putting there), IT, Repel (entangling force is complete trash in aoe as burst damage is what u actually want here since things die so fast) and dis.
- Class features for aoe: Stormspell (for single too), evocation (arcane pressence is the worst joke in the game, if you can bin it, pls do. you have 3 arcane encounters, an arcane daily and this doesn't affect them, its a simple brainer here)
- Dailies: ALWAYS oppresive force in aoe and arcane empowerment for bosses.
- Aoe feats, take snap freeze (its as good as a fifth encounter, the chances of u getting assailant force in aoe is inexistent and it only affects the first hit on any encounter), Take nightmare wizadry (simple brainer here, in aoe its hard to get combat advantage through positioning and nightmare will make things alot easier for u), Take elemental reinforcement ( you wont have time to have enough arcane stacks to make the other feat better in aoe, and even if you do, you've already done ur rotation so u aint getting much. With ER, you cast a dis from distance and ray of frost and u have 10% damage before u use IT and ST)
- Companions: Xuna is nice, she does alot of damage but she's equally just as buggy (im not the best cw but i can confidently say that i rape anyone using a xuna cos they frequently lose stats in aoe due to striker companions sometimes getting stuck and not following their owners) use an augment and make life easier for urself. Drop death slaad for chultan tiger for 20% movement. Baby owlbear is BiS for aoe.
- Mounts use swarm, you'll need trex, griffin and lion for the trials but for aoe use swarm and enjoy use 5% damage.
- Use companion equip to balance ur stats.
- For insignias, take 3 gladiator's guile for aoe and 2 artificier's persuasion. And again use ur insignias to balance ur stats.
- Single target, snap freeze and assailant force are more or less on the same level here, depends on ur luck with rng (snap freeze doesn't stop after 6 stacks cos u aint just gonna be holding ray of frost for the whole fight, but ofc if you are using storm pillar instead of ray, no point using snap freeze). Basically use the same feats he had for aoe cos they are actually for single target xd.
- Single target encounters: RoE on mastery, repel, entangling, dis. Storm spell and APF/CP (this depends on how often u get ur dailies tbh, but for lomm apf wins on the first 2 bosses due to them having phases where u can actually gain back ur ap before they come back. Use apf for the first part of the fight with trobriand and switch to CP will holding ray of frost, then switch back while killing the towers, dont do this in Tomm, only at the beginning of each phase when u have ur daily up). Always use arcane empowerment xd.
- Boons: aoe deathly rage, single target use focused retaliation. Marathon runner is a must for aoe but not for single target, with 2 gladiator u have enough for single target. Also for tomm u dont need any of the % damage boons as halaster actually have no specific race and none of them work against him, so throw all those points into hp. Dont invest in ap gain as its a complete trash stat. for repel ur base ap is 0.086, if you add 10% to thats, its only 0.924 which is complete garbage. Take cd reduction and crit severity.
-Single target companions: Augment ofc, xuna is ok in aoe but not as much in single target. Swap tiger for batiri and deepcrow for netherese arcanist. Again, use the new companion gear from zok to balance ur stats.
Insignias: these dont really matter, only good ones are gladiators and artificiers.
- Btw use primal boots for aoe and enduring for single target. And for aoe stack as much movement speed as u can, due to arcanist lacking ranged aoes, you'll need alot of speed to keep up with them hrs and trs

@LiLi LiTHiUMM One thing is not using orcus set cause u dont know how to balance stats and another thing is considering other stuff to be BiS.
For the aoe part, well, its quite simple, the faster u kill things, the faster u finish the dungeon. To optimize ur dps, u have to invest in movement speed. If you dont like fast runs, thats ur personal preference but doesn't mean its the optimal.
Ive read that stacking gg for movement speed helps during trial to dodge aoes
we all have our opinions and build and i respect yours. but i build my charecter around the entire game not one trial. also i dont swap things out all the time. i dont even use a chultan tiger at all and never mentioned it and having lots of movement speed to me is useless. some things i can see your point and others i cant. but i appreciate you leaving the comment.
@@TheRealAssistMan actually ur build is around the trial since u are using the ring of sage and focused on hitting the 80k stats and over 300k hp, which u dont need for anywhere else but the trial.
Ofc i do respect ur opinion but as a fellow cw i cant stand misguides. Moment speed is needed for arcanist due to lack of ranged aoe powers compared to thaum.
Man this game is pissing me off, it changes so much I can't keep up. I'm still in the process of getting your mod 16 build going, and now it looks like I will have to start all over again, ugh it's enough to drive you to drink lol. I just wish there was a definitive build guide that shows what's best in each situation, like have a soloing build, a group build, and then a build for certain situations like TOMM, etc. So that there is a clear path to follow. Cause all this back and forth from people on builds gets really confusing, and I admit I'm just not smart enough to figure all this stuff out on my own. I just want to have fun playing the game, but still want to be useful to my team. I have followed your videos for a while now, and as a result my dps has gone way up. And don't get me wrong your videos have been extremely helpful. I just wish cryptic would stop changing things so often. It seems just when I starting getting my build right they go and demolish it and I have to start all over again. But anyway, thx for the video, as I said it has been very helpful.

oh trust me bro i dont. i always play different then everyone else and come up with different builds that destroy stuff all the time,. also like you said i make a universal build good for everything in the game not just 1 little area

I agree, I have a TOMM ready wizard and it wasn't from doing anything said in this video. The only thing I copied was the Arcane powers and feats.... but everything else I did was done on my own to reach the stats I need to be useful in TOMM.
I mean he has stated countless times that this is how he runs it. Doesn't mean you have to copy and paste his ideas... ah the wonderful weaknesses of this community.
this build is not for tomm it is for the entire game and it is MY build like i said in the video and what i think is best to use. if you dont agree thats your opinion.

I think the Ebony Stained Breastplate/Robes/Scalemail is better than the Star one. It goes up to 10% more power and you only need to inflict 10% HP damage to activate it. It's 250 less IL tho.
it might be for some if you can balance out stats. i like to have more hp for more survivbility if needed. but you can always use that as well

Great build brother. Appreciate you taking the time to get this video out. Couple of questions. Until you get the gear you were talking about, still use mod 16 stuff? Lost mouth set? Or Wyvern set for example? Enduring boots, etc.

Jamey Glissen with the stat caps being much higher now and health being good to have I would run whatever highest item level stuff you have for now. At the end of the day though the game has changed so much that the gear is not really that important anymore. Everything is just so minimal and basic.

I just realized that with Mod 17 it is now possible to have 6 percent to both ranged and encounter powers, while also having 3 percent at will damage from boots of the willed. I am sure you can still reach the caps for TOMM using that combo of gear while stacking Power (lets face it, it's the only stat that matters when you reach your caps, att least for now).

Xuna's comp bonus procs constantly, especially w ray of frost. Slows and poisons. I use it w death slaad and if its not one, its the other hitting.
yeah i have it as well its awesome. just didnt want to use the bonus itself.

i don't understand the point of Mealstrom or oppressive force. sure it does good in AoE but Arcane Empowerment basically gives you instant cast times on ALL your spells for 10 seconds. depending on your group and what you use, you can basically use this every 60seconds, and since it lasts for 10 seconds that basically mean you only have to wait 50seconds to use it again. using arcane empowerment, atleast for me has proven to be more usefull because it pumps out a lot more dmg than any of the AoE dailies, hell i dont even use iceknife cause again the cooldown rate with arcane is so crazy it just does more dmg.
also another thing to mention is Arcane gives an instant 5 stacks which helps build for your 10 arcane stacks so you can buff yourself more quickly. And because of the fact the you can spam your encounters so quickly you gain about 10-15% of your action points back within those 10 seconds, if you apply the DCs sigil you can add another 25% if you play on an elf (i don't know which one, i think its sun elf?) you can also gain even more action points so hypothetically you can just keep poping arcane even faster than 60 seconds and the faster you can get it the more dps you can constantly pump out. its more of a burst dmg build but in all honestly if geared correctly would out dps most cws not running arcane.
I really wonder why does paladin have 300+ magnitude aoe and 900magnitude single target spammable skills all while wizard has 200 magnitude aoe at max and 400 magnitude at max on single target. I do really wonder.
Would using a Teneborous enchant at rank 15 and using the Owlbear Cub power in the utility slot be a viable option? You would have to use one of the new sets to make up the HP loss from not using the Energon, but it could add aditional dps if both proc frequently enough.This may be difficult to use for TOMM, but could be useful for other content.
I use a thurm in mod 19 after the stat revamp. my CC still locks mobs down with ease
I do think for generally running around the demo set is still the best in slot lol. Plus it's actually available for a reasonable price.

There are several ways to get a faster mount, you can get one from the zen store, though I personally dont recommend spending real money on a mount. You can find lots of them in the auction house, but most epic and legendary mounts and are gonna cost a good chunk of astral diamonds. Epics usually run around 50 - 500k and legendary's will run upwards of a few million. But most green and blue mounts can be gotten for less than 50k. Though the prices change often with the current marked, so you might get lucky a find one for cheap, just keep checking the market each day. If your playing as a gith I believe you get a blue mount at some point from your level up box, but not sure. I did mine back when they had that new character event, so it might have been because of that, not sure.
which is better the AOE build or the single target build and i was talking about the powers u were talking about in the video?
depends on what you are fighting. aoe for everything except for boss battles in dungeons.

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought powers did not stack if the same thing (i.e. 3% bonus damage to encounter powers on the two rings you suggest you'l be taking). I thought those things did not stack, or do they stack if they come from a different named source - "tit for tat" and "encounter's perk"? Thank you!
Been off neverwinter for about 6 to 8 months hoping they fixed some shit. Thought I would try to get back into it. But they reset everything on my toon. So

I'm not rebuilding my CW all over again. Bye Neverwinter! I hit the 80 cap with mostly old gear and my enchants, insignia's etc. aren't even maxed. The problem I see with this is, TOMM is the hardest to do so only the elite of the elite already will only be able to complete it. All the gear is locked away behind TOMM and if you can already complete TOMM, what's the use of the new gear?
This is how mmorpgs work. You defeat the hardest content for the best gear lol. Plus with changes from mod to mod having to use different abilities is still fun even tho they don't just make certain abilities better they just nerf them till they're trash... overall idk why anyone would really need all BIS gear when the second best is much easier to to obatin. It's just a grind.

in undermountain no. but i didnt base the build or said that i was making the build specifically just for undermountain. undermountain is just 1 small area in the entire game. so outside of undermountain its useless. thats why i wont be using it.
@@TheRealAssistMan The thing is though - content other than undermountain is trivial. This is why imo it's always best to build you character for the absolute endgame.

No. And the executioner might is also trash for arcanist. The 5% power is for 10 sec, and has a 30 sec cool down. You can mostly get the benefits once or twice. At boss it does almost nothing.
As an arcanist you want as much ap gain as possible. Outside undermountain, daily with arcane power field is gonna give you the bonus you will want to use.
That being said, check out the collection yourself and I am sure you can find a good piece.

Any suggestions for mounts and companions for players who don't have a lot of ad I like your videos and use them as guidelines but alot of the stuff is too expensive to get
i would get the companions just the green ones they will be cheaper. better to just save up for something instead of waisting money on things you wont need later on

Hi can you help me with rotation? I try tomm yesterday and one cw give me 200milions of damage in 7 runs... the only difference between me and him were the arms of the lion ... I asked for information and he replied that the difference between us was of the rotations

You get Xuna where? No info on how to obtain her. I saw them previous to this video on PS4 for around 700K but naturally everyone relisted now they're 3-5 mil.
Augments are still the best fam. If you got a bulette to legendary don't use alternates unless you can afford it.he just likes having a companion attack but he does sacrifice a whole bunch of stats for that.
i bought mine months ago for like 600k they have been expensive i dont know where to get it its just a random drop
thats cause the companion does a ton of damage so its worth it.
Hey AssistMan, I love your videos but I think you may have dropped the ball on this one. I believe alot of the things you said in this video, will be retracted once you run TOMM and get the new gear.
The only thing I copied from this video was the Arcane powers and feats and that's only because I want to test it out. In my opinion Thaumaturge is still the better paragon path.
thats fine we all have an opinion on stuff in the game. i never had any issues running any content in any of my builds i have done for years. i think arcanist is much better now.
I tried the whole Fireburst thing. I have absolutely 0 survive ability without a Barkshield or Negation or even using a Shield Power.
if you need those to survive then use them

Lol control wizards complain about one power being buggy meanwhile Warlock are literally doing 40% less dps then any other dps class in the game... so many Warlocks being thrown to the side just cause Crapdick can't program a paper bag right...
wizards arcanist tree was bugged for months. they completely killed warlocks months ago i agree. i wouldnt even play the game no more if i was them
@@TheRealAssistMan sadly I just started a Warlock like 2 weeks ago get to 22k just to find out I can't go into tomm even when I reach 24k... and the requirements for a tank is stupid... which is my other main...
And being bugged versus being completely useless are two totally different things... how does cryptic expect this game to last if they can't get these balance issues sorted is my main question now...

i did quit. didnt play the game for nearly 2 months. came back when there was new content and will be quiting soon again when im done with it.
