I love Nanna’s voice by its cool to hear Raggi’s voice as the main voice in a song! Honestly both voices are so beautiful you can’t go wrong 😍
Just a song? sorry, but one of the reasons I am not really into this album is because Raggi has so many solo songs, like half of the album are songs from him. I prefer Nanna's voice all the way

@@halcyon-ar that's just false ! Raggi is a the main singer on Wars and Stuck in gravity. For Under A Dome, Vulture vulture, Sleepwalker and Ahay they are really together, and for the other songs Nanna is the main singer (so 5 songs) I don't find Raggi's presence as excessive...

There’s just something that sets OMAM apart from other bands. The abstract lyrics just make everything so wonderful.

honestly y'all... every band evolves over time, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone ?? if you prefer their old stuff, go listen to it, don't complain about the new album 😂 it's that easy. OMAM creates art how they feel like it. there are so many bands out there that have several albums and each of them have a different vibe. they're still the same band, this album just has a different vibe than the previous ones... let them evolve. their old music has not gone anywhere.

So, this band has been one of my top 2 favorite bands since high school. I’m now on my 4th year of college and their songs have helped me through so many difficulties. I have been in a slump lately, but recently went to Japan and going there has been like reaching the light at the end of a dark tunnel. I recently returned from Japan, and then this song with its line “Cold but you glow, like the streets of Tokyo” comes out. And how beautiful the streets of Tokyo were. Clean, cold, reflective of the neon signs lights. This song is just another sign to me, that I will go back to Japan. And that comforts me.
It's always great to see Raggi take the lead. Bravo!

"Wars" debuted on the New Alternative 40 Chart this week!
I love how this song is definitely in the 'new' OMAM style, gravitating towards a more modern sound, but then there's beautiful lines like 'Sinking stones, we don't know what lies on the riverbed", which sound like they come from their previous albums. It's great that they're able to explore new sounds and style and still carry their unique storytelling and the ~feel~ of their songs that made us fall in love with them.
This comes out as i'm watching another OMAM song. Great timing!

Completely agree. These songs are good, but they’re not up to the standard of the first two albums.
They have definitely strayed away from their old "folk-ish"(?) style that MHIAA had. They seem to have taken their Beneath The Skin style and added a bit more to it. Which is fine but it's not the same. Still love it though.

Same tbh, I miss the nordic/folky aesthetic they had going on with songs like Wolves Without Teeth and stuff. Once Alligator came out I kinda fell off the omam wagon because it just didn't feel the same to me anymore.
On one hand you have this amazing Icelandic band Omam, and on the other you have another amazing Icelandic band Hatari. Two completely different genres

I'm glad they've taken the new direction they're going...sometimes I really want to listen to OMAM but I'm not really in the mood particularly for anything folky...but this has the same feel without having the same sound!! Now I can have both worlds!!

Agreed! I feel like the prior albums had more memorable songs; each one had its own unique quality. So far, at least to me, the new songs are seeming a bit repetitive and not really memorable. Feel free to prove me wrong ahah just my opinion

..they changed their music dramatically over the past 7 years. This is a good song, I think, but it is not the “old” OMAM sound we’re used to.

Bad things happen when bands get taken over by VEVO. You were one of the most unique and beautiful bands I had ever come across. With all these new songs you've just forayed into making mainstream, sellable music rather than leaving your mark on the world. I'll never stop listening to your old songs tho... just wish more and more artists didn't change their identities to get more popular.
