    VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
    Meet Bronte and her 2001 Chevy Express Box Truck that she self-converted! This solo female traveler has been living in her home full time since November 2020, and has loved every minute. Reusing materials was top of the list when converting the box truck. She was able to use the pine tongue and groove from her father's flooring project as paneling on the walls, and because her rig was an old electrician vehicle she was able to reuse the breaker box and fuse box for her solar setup! She was also able to reuse the original flooring after a few rounds with the sander. As self-described home body, Bronte loves being able to adventure and always come back to her home, We Love That!!

      @douglasharley2440 Před 3 lety +17

      i built a tiny home in a box truck and i couldn't be happier. imo, it's the ideal platform, because it's big enough to hold everything you need in a home (i.e., fullsize bed, fullsize shower, full kitchen, composting toilet, lots of water, lots of solar), without being so big that you lose all stealth ability. you should check out penske, that's where i got my truck, and although it's kind of a pain in the butt to find one and wait for them to take it out of service and get it ready, they do a great job maintaining their trucks, because it's fleet service.

      Most people don't realize that she doesn't have AC either. It takes a MUCH more robust solar/battery setup than that. She is using diesel/propane for heating/cooking so she can get by with low power otherwise.
      The units with AC are usually either dependent on generators or shore power to work. She could probably do it if she completely covered her roof with solar, and added lithium batteries. That makes the final result FAR less stealthy though. This has always been one of my favorite minimalist designs other than AC. (I live in Texas)

    What a smart and lovely girl. My husband is going to covert a box truck. He’s an electrician, lol. Maybe he needs to find an electricians truck. We will use flooring for walls too. Because I found it on the side of the road. We have done a shed cabin. Just purchased an Rv. But now my daughter needs it. Just for her internship. It’s good we have it available for her. Maybe a box truck would be nice for her. It’s a cool home! Glad she isn’t having to work so hard. I did that when I was young. It took a toll on my body. I’m disabled today because of my hard work life plus a hereditary autoimmune disease. It’s best not to over work or put yourself through lost of stress, it will catch up with you. So happy this young lady can have a home on wheels. It’s perfect. She needs a buddy heater or one of those cute little fire places. Hope she gets everything in life that’s awesome! Wish her the best! I like that your build was a simple and uncluttered Design one suggestion would be to get yourself some magnets or saddle racks and put them there on the wall underneath your cabinet and where your counter sets but I think you're doing a great job you still have the potential to store more items like if you wanted to pick up the extra food or stash anything also you did a great job on the flooring and now you have a nice floor you can walk around barefoot
