Keep in mind, a menstrual cup can literally be used for YEARS. It's a lot of money all at once, but it pays off. Not to mention that the number of tampons/pads you use changes depending on flow, whilst a cup works no matter the "water pressure."
A menstruation cup can be used for at least five years, if it's one with good quality. Though they gave yet not got the information about how painful it can be. Maybe that's in the next video?
Eomma Jin's baby army ikr?! One time I had just finished my period and I was sitting down, and everything was fine until my mom said, “You have blood all over your pants” like I don’t even know how I didn’t see it
Haley Walker EIGHT CHOCOLATE BARS! We could be buying eight chocolate bars with that money! (Okay but I use menstrual cups which pay for themselves after a couple months but I’m still offended at the price of tampons and pads)
Blank NotWhite it's not 8 dollars. One tampon lasts six hours max and you can't wear them during the night so you also have to buy pads. And if you're unlucky and you have cramps you have to add the price of painkillers.
lol what? tampons are bought every month, a dildo is once and there are varying price points. $20 to $200 whatever you want to spend on a dildo. What's your point?
I feel like menstrul product should be only 1 or 2$. I mean, what about the people who can't afford them? Let them bleed? Also why are men's products labeled as a "necessity"? While women's products are labeled as "luxury"? Women have to buy pads every month, for a total of 30+ years. And being at the price they are, aren't making the easier to get to. Women are losing money because every single month we have to go out of our way to buy things we need to not bleed everywhere. And as I said before, lower the prices so women everywhere can buy them. edit: damn i forgot i wrote this comment lmao preteen me was... special
Anonymous in my country pads are cheap. I don't know about other products bc I don't use them, only pads. Pads are around 1.45-1.75 normal ones(12 pads) and the night ones are more expensive 2.00-2.50(brings 8 or 12). But remember that the factories that makes those products needs a lot of supplies to make them and also pay for the employees so I don't think all the products will be 1-2$.
Am I the only one who thinks the prices should be lowered but not free? It they were free, they wouldn't be able to make them because the companies wouldn't have the materials needed. But if the price was lowered, it would be good for both us women and the companies. They still get money, but we don't have to spend as much.

condoms stop disease and unwanted babies, resulting in less abortions. tampons dont. condoms stop you getting aids, id say that was pretty important. condoms are not a luxury.
emily paige. i get it. it shouldnt be taxed so, but it is. the question is what are you going to do about it? men would stop buying condoms. women dont stop buying expensive tampons. until women learn to be practical the companines wont do anything about the tax. yes, its the companies that can change taxes via lobbying in government. food and supermarkets have the most powerful lobbyists in the world aevn more than oil does. you stop buying them and things will change.
@bossy tweed. its a perfect analogy. if it was a product for men. men would walk away. women just keep paying. tampons are a recent creation and you think you cant live without them. use towels. the reason nothing changes is you whinge and expect somone to fix it for you. walk away and dont buy them. see how fast things change when these companies need your money. i also wasnt talking about sex i was talking about what condoms do. learn to read what was typed and not whats in your own head. you can still have sex without condoms.
0:44 It is recommended to change a tampon every 4 to 8 hours, so use 6 hours as the average. Periods generally last 2 to 7 days, I think a fair average overall is 5 days. So 24 hours divided by 6 is 4, let's say typical use is 3 to 4 tampons a day - and at 5 days that's 15 to 20 tampons per period. This does not account for those with heavy periods who would change more frequently and thus use more. So with 34 tampons at $7.99 (not including tax), that is anywhere from $3.53 to $4.70 per period; and with a period roughly every 28 days, that's about 13 periods per year, so *annual cost is $45.89 to $61.10* - that is based on the tampon package in this video, and rough approximations for frequency and duration, and for those with LIGHT TO MODERATE menstruation. 🔴
Add all of this things painkillers too. I have to get an enjection every month and i have to pay for it myself because apparently there is nothing wrong with me (other than being a women) to get a prescription for my extreme cramps.
Jenn I have went through at least 2 brands of painkillers at this point and relying on someone else's pain medication now for it because if I don't curb it, I won't be able to sit up straight.
Ann Smith I'm having a weird period (like I don't have cramps or cravings or anything, but my moods etc are just totally f****d up) so I'm doing the same.
I feel that women products should be free because say you went to a public place and you didn't have any money to buy any pads or tampons, it will get all over and it's not fair. And girls have to have periods all the flipping time while boys only go through puberty once, so stuff should be free to us Girls
Anneleighsnow06 I totally agree but then how would the Product company's be making money? They can't just make it and give it for free. But I totally get you
M B that's a ridiculous demand to make the government pay for women's menstrual products. Maybe subsidies for those who can't afford them for themselves but asking that the government just provide menstrual products for free is kind of ridiculous.
Period products should be free period. point. blank. We didn’t choose to have a period it comes naturally and we have to waste money on this every month? How fair is that? Oh ha it’s not, I mean it’s crazy how the government haven’t made products free all the government wants is for us to waste our money and it’s so sick but oh wellll it’s the world we live in :) welcome to America
ManaYana I totally agree with what your saying, and it's totally unfair to women, but then again none of us even asked to be born so why should we pay for things that we need like a house, or food/water, electricity
That's like saying when I go to the hospital to get treated for an injury or illness I wouldn't have to pay. I didn't ask to break my leg, it shall be free! I've got that 3 day flow so I don't have to buy pads often (or, well, my mom doesn't) but I agree that the prices should be lowered, but free would be horrible.
ManaYana all these guys complaining that they have to buy toilet paper and I’m just like BOI we have to buy toilet paper AND sanitary products... like logic
78% OF WOMEN SPEND UP TO $50 A MONTH ON PERIOD PRODUCTS DUE TO THEIR SPECIFIC FLOW & MEN WILL NEVER HAVE TO DO THAT. WITH FOOD YOU CAN CHOOSE HOW MUCH YOU SPEND ON IT BUT WITH PERIOD PRODUCTS YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. HAVING YOUR PERIOD ISNT A CHOICE. EATING A $50 MEAL IS.
Song Bird I was thinking, this guy is awesome! Why is he the only one who knows this stuff. He must have had sisters or be in a healthy relationship with a girl.
For me it’s not the fact that they’re expensive because I can easily afford them. The issue is I’m having to spend money for something that I don’t have that much control over.
Seeing men try out things that women has to go through sometimes makes me feel like crying. I felt like they're being given exposure to some of the biological hardships women goes through.
No but they're available for free in public bathrooms.. tampons you gotta pay for. And the machine is always out. Also.. they're taxed as a luxery item. AND, food stamps/other government aid actually don't cover feminine hygiene products, because again, they're considered non-necessity, luxery products.
Period products should cost $0. Most women have periods throughout most of their life. We can't help it. Why should we pay for something we can't stop from happening naturally?
Yes, but EVERYONE has to pay for those things. Period products are specifically something for women. They are something women HAVE to buy every month, at an additional cost of, on average, $15/month, and that isn't including the extra cost of ruined clothing and bedding which is pretty much inevitable. Not only is that cost not factored in to cost of living which determines the poverty line, but period products are taxed as luxury items and not included on benefit programs.
I feel like she means that's the one thing we don't share with men. All humans need food, men and women both usually shave, etc, but only women get periods, and they can't control that. I'm just elaborating not arguing.
Well, that is kind of the benefits of the Diva Cup and reusable pads or period panties so you don't have to buy them over and over again, but yes the cost can add up especially for people in poorer areas that's why we have programs dedicated to donating items like these. I don't mind paying, but when I was in college it was like "should I eat, or should I just let blood flow down my leg?" it's a real option sometimes, though in hindsight I'm just glad I'm not in the part of the world that people think the devil causes the period and when women have their period they have either undergo genital mutilation or have to sleep outside their village...that shits fucked.
Love the education guy drawing happy coconuts and happy diva cups. I hope that this generation becomes more educated and less judgmental/ashamed about human anatomy, so that the next will have a better time with happy disks and happy tampons.
More like they can charge, so do. Also who would pay for making them? I agree they should be made not for profit but I don't know how economically you could make them free. It would have to come out of taxes. I'm not saying I agree with that, only there's a cost to making them.
I love to see that guys are usually really understanding when they're being straightout confronted with the facts. It's just that most of them don't know anything. I remember that our teachers split the group during sex education at school, when talking about tampons and stuff - i think they did it to allow the girls some privacy and spare them the awkwardness, but i think it is better to tell the boys exactly what's going on. The world would be a better place.
I can't stop laughing. I've never asked my dad to go buy me period stuff. I always had to go to my stepmom even when we didn't know each other that well. XD

Im a woman too. I dont even spend 5 dollars a month. If your tampons only last 6 hours you need to find better ones.
Blank NotWhite No. If you use a tampon more than 7-8 hours you can get toxic shock syndrome, which can easily kill you if you don't answer fast to it.

emily paige. i get it. it shouldnt be taxed so, but it is. the question is what are you going to do about it? men would stop buying condoms. women dont stop buying expensive tampons. until women learn to be practical the companines wont do anything about the tax. yes, its the companies that can change taxes via lobbying in government. food and supermarkets have the most powerful lobbyists in the world aevn more than oil does. you stop buying them and things will change.
Dude with the beard he hella mature about periods. Love it
They guy in grey even knew one of the folds for the diva cup. Man goals right there.
Men would be comparing the sizes of their tampons 😂
why?
taliesin halliday 🤦♂️
@@taliesinhalliday oh you're so innocent
taliesin halliday if guys had periods they would compare sizes like they do with their dicks
- kool - huh?
1:53 THE SHADE TOWARDS MEN IM DED
The redhead with the beard seems to be an expert on this topic.
1:04 not when you have to buy that every 28 days 🙄
Guy in red hoodie: "This is like my size...nevermind, I take that back"😂
Add all of this things painkillers too.
34 tampons will last me 2 periods, if I'm lucky
Same i can't even use them

I'm having cramps so I'm binge watching buzzfeed period videos

Who’s here in 2019 doing this.
I like how they open up the packaging and just fiddle with stuff. They are getting like $100 worth of products dirty
But I totally get you
Government should pay for it
M B that's a ridiculous demand to make the government pay for women's menstrual products. Maybe subsidies for those who can't afford them for themselves but asking that the government just provide menstrual products for free is kind of ridiculous.
chantelle bynes thank you
Imagine if we had to get toilet paper out of a vendor for 25c a sheet @ all public centers.
The guy in the purple had is knowledge able on this and it makes me happy
"The cup runneth over." 😂
Imagine if all woman had their periods at the same time and all men would just hide in their basements once a month😂
Inger Johanne Olsen lol
It would kinda be like the purge
Well, looking back at how history goes I guess the more probable thing would be that they would throw all women into basements once a month
Scared little boys
Girls faces light up at the idea
I mean it would be great you could ask any girl for a pad or tampon and they'd have one
Everytime a buzzfeed notif pop up and I read the title, I be like "wtf, why would u do this?" But I watch it anyway 😂
Same😂
same
Plus the $7.99 is actually $10.00 or $10 and some change. Taxes
I agree as well. Women already get paid less than men. On top of that we have to have a feminine product budget.
ManaYana all these guys complaining that they have to buy toilet paper and I’m just like BOI we have to buy toilet paper AND sanitary products... like logic
I don't think it should be free because food isn't free either but it should be cheaper
I wish every man were so educated as the white guy with the backwards hat! He knew everything and was so chill lol. Well done!
I wish every woman was educated on morning wood and night emissions being a natural process
"I'm offended for women that it's so expensive" THANK YOU!
Women shouldn't have to pay anything for period products. We didn't choose this life *jenna marbles voice*
...ok...
Cheyenne Nezat true
We didn't choose to need to eat food but we're never gonna get free food forever
Cheyenne Nezat ......well what about the cost of making them?
78% OF WOMEN SPEND UP TO $50 A MONTH ON PERIOD PRODUCTS DUE TO THEIR SPECIFIC FLOW & MEN WILL NEVER HAVE TO DO THAT. WITH FOOD YOU CAN CHOOSE HOW MUCH YOU SPEND ON IT BUT WITH PERIOD PRODUCTS YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. HAVING YOUR PERIOD ISNT A CHOICE. EATING A $50 MEAL IS.
The guy in grey knows too much. Lol 😂
Song Bird I was thinking, this guy is awesome! Why is he the only one who knows this stuff. He must have had sisters or be in a healthy relationship with a girl.
I want to marry that man
trueee haha I was impressed yet slightly unnerved
FlirtyQuips
True haha 😂
34 tampons- 1 1/2 week. Buy for like 30 years gets pricey. “$7.99 omg that’s so good” not when you add it all up 😂
Ok. Red beard got hotter the more questions he answered. Damn. 🔥
Could've sworn I saw a video like this from Buzzfeed before.
alexis coles sometimes they repost videos so maybe 🤷♀️
It was ladylike guesses period product prices I think. I could be wrong.
alexis coles they made a girl version
alexis coles HMM
India 🇮🇳 buzz feeds probably
I'm in love with the guy with the beard
hes gay.
taliesin halliday how u know??
*MY CUP RUNNETH OVER*
0:46 For me 34 tampons would last 1 and a half periods if I’m lucky. (Btw I use pads at night so there’s that added cost)
The guy in 1:19 cracked me up soooo hard I couldn't stop laughing when he said "You put this in a Dishwasher?"
😂😂😂
Guys try women's razors 😏
Claire Knight they'd be so disappointed lol
sooo they'd just be... trying regular razors?
Claire Knight Womens razors? You mean regular razors painted pink and relabeled?
_ muffe55 _ No actually women's razors are much duller then razors intended for men.
Whenever I buy women razor I always get nicks and cuts but not when I buy men ones 🤔
“They’re like party favors!”
Why did I have to be invited?
For me it’s not the fact that they’re expensive because I can easily afford them. The issue is I’m having to spend money for something that I don’t have that much control over.
I'll stick to pads
I’m a female and I’ve never even seen or heard of the last two products💀
Seeing men try out things that women has to go through sometimes makes me feel like crying. I felt like they're being given exposure to some of the biological hardships women goes through.
Period products are overpriced but they should cost something. You can’t avoid peeing and pooping but nobody fights for free toilet paper.
Jmt Jmt smh, toilet paper should be free also. As should food. No one should have to pay to exist and live a comfortable life
If u go into public restrooms u will get toilet paper for free but u will still have to pay for hygenie products
No but they're available for free in public bathrooms.. tampons you gotta pay for. And the machine is always out. Also.. they're taxed as a luxery item. AND, food stamps/other government aid actually don't cover feminine hygiene products, because again, they're considered non-necessity, luxery products.
You can’t control the blood whereas you can make sure pee and poop actually goes in a toilet
@@tyroneonphone nothing is free. Everything comes from taxpayers money.
I see this video, once every month !
And it pains me !
"Do you put it in a dishwasher?"

Joey Rodriguez He said 40 dollars! I would rather bleed in my pants
Cierra Cece lol
that was cute. and aww to the guy who thinks economically.
0:42 “rises and falls like the moon” i thought that was so cute
Period products should cost $0. Most women have periods throughout most of their life. We can't help it. Why should we pay for something we can't stop from happening naturally?
Yeah, but on the other side then we shouldn't have to pay for nappies, shaving cream, shampoo, bras...
Kate, totally agree with you.
Love the education guy drawing happy coconuts and happy diva cups. I hope that this generation becomes more educated and less judgmental/ashamed about human anatomy, so that the next will have a better time with happy disks and happy tampons.
Strength to that girl who's on her periods now, somewhere in world ! 😇😇😇😌😌
Not so fun fact:
The pink tax exists because period products are considered a "luxury"
40.00 for a box of tampons?!? We’d be broke if each box was 40.00
$17,38 - AY
I can't stop laughing. I've never asked my dad to go buy me period stuff. I always had to go to my stepmom even when we didn't know each other that well. XD
"It looks super high tech"
I'm dieing😂😂😂
Is the price included gtst because for some f*cked up reason it’s considered a luxury
