- What we're telling today is a story that has to do with love, in fact we're talking about the last, tragic ascent of a French couple along the slopes of K2. The second highest mountain in the world.
i would just consider it an accomplishment to reach base camp 1 and call it conquered.
Me too!
I came, I saw, I conquered. I viewed the summit from 50 miles away.
😂YES!
I agreed ❤
Good one😂😂😂😂
FYI Nanga Parbat is called "Killer mountain", not K2. K2 has nickname "Savage mountain".
Well, they are all quite beastly.
Yeah but even beastly is different from savage and killer
Glad my sense of peace is found on a horse in the woods
And mine, in my bedroom, basking in the warm glow of the tv
Amen to that! I’m happiest on a horses back.
Mine is in my bed watching CZcams videos about people climbing dangerous ice rocks.
All that can be deadly too...lots of people have died in equestrian accidents...& who can even count the number of people who've died in their beds? No place is safe when the Reaper comes calling...
😄😄😄
Their Legacy? If you google them, you will barely find a word about them. They died for nothing.
most people do
@@user-zb8tq5pr4x , yes but most of them don`t throw away their lives, only to become possibly famous.
These "first whatever" stories are beyond ridiculous. Only the first climb matters, the rest is pure propaganda and show the egocentric caracters of all these climbers. (First couple, first married couple, first divorced couple why not ?, first gay, first blind, first 65 years old, first 65 years old and 2 days etc. you get my drift. Beyond ridiculous.
Exactly
The recklessness displayed by them is
stunning. Legacy? Are you kidding? The only legacy that makes sense is don't go !
Yes. Stay at home and don't achieve your dreams, because your passion in life is irrelevant, so you shouldn't even bother 🙄
If I went and died in the desert would I be achieving my dreams? gen x is wild
@@Amer1can1nfidelo One is dying in a random place and call it success
@@Amer1can1nfidel What's with this Gen X junk? We're the only generation minding our business. The rest of you fight it out.
@hollib3900 You all are young boomers and the only ones keeping these corporations afloat with labor hoping to keep your 401k you put 15% into with 6% Match lol
2 nights at 8300 feet they were really stupid for doing that. That alone probley killed them
More I listen to these stories more I say hell no
Not the universe trying to give them a chance to reconsider by losing all their money, passports and plane tickets in the back of a cab.
thought the same :D
Going to base camp would be summit enough for me
"but it wasn't that easy, as rocks and trenches came in their way". Rocks and trenches on a mountain? Who would have thunk that? I thought it was all stairs and escalators.
"the unfathomable nature of life" ?
What stupid narration.
Jeez, who wrote the dialogue for the narration? Terrible. Artificial oxygen?!
Lol
With respect: They left ALL their essentials for their trip in a taxi beforehand.
They still though it was a good idea to proceed without money, passports, and gear loss etc.
The obvious was not a priority. Enough said.
It’s a crap shoot if u develop high altitude sickness or not. Why not carry O2(g) just in case?
The added weight of supplemental oxygen slows climbers down, and because the length of time spent in the "Death Zone" increases your risk of acute mountain sickness, it is a strategy to climb as light and as fast as possible.
as a team you always go as fast as the slowest climber .
that way no one gets left behind.
Even on the way down? That's how everyone dies instead of only one person.
@@wizzyno1566 then go down earlier if someone is struggling especially if they are paying clients
Too often, climbers pay the ultimate price because of stubbornness and haste. If they'd have taken time to retrieve their things left in the taxi, they wouldn't have been in a hurry to die.
Senseless loss.
After watching many of these mountain accidents videos I noticed on the accent people are willing to help each other out but once they achieve their goal and summit it’s every man for themselves.
All to often you will see someone say” they was right behind me then all of sudden they was way far behind or I didn’t see them anymore”. Just be honest and say they was moving slow and I achieved my goal and if I stopped to help them I’ll might die too so I knowingly left them.
It has to be every man for himself because yo help someone now could mean losing your own life.
@@lettiegrant9447 yes I completely understand that but I see some climbers say yea he was going to die anyway so I left but some have been exposed for lying and saying they waited or they just couldn’t see them anymore when they just left them in the 1st place.
Maybe after the ascent they are simply exhausted?
Born with genetic disease that impacts mobility, i am flabbergasted at what trivialities able bodied people throw away their lives for
Leaving all their money and documents in the back of a taxi? Yeah this won't end well. I have a nearly iron clad rule; when starting out on a journey or significant undertaking if anything goes wrong no matter how insignificant then that is a warning from the universe that something worse will happen if I press on with my plans. At 63 years old I've had enough experience to say it isn't mere coincidence. Listen to the universe and you won't find yourself stuck in a desperate situation.
YESSS ! This is proven to be true also in my life . For example I remember few years ago I was about to travel to Italy with my daughter ( I live in Germany) . Its just about 4 hours trip with our car.
BUT , the day before my daughter went swimming in a pool and brocke her finger . After she got some sort of immobilisation, half-gips and bandage she still wanted to travel . But I said - NO ! For me it was a sign not to travel . I remember how much she cried ( she was a child and wanted very badly to travel ) . Next morning I heard news - there was a very, very bad multiple car accident where many ppl died or were very bad injured, on exactly that highway we wanted to travel and when I calculated the time - it was about time that we were about to be if we decided to travel no matter what ...
I had many similar situations and always I made right decision. If smt goes wrong I consider it to be the sign from universe .
✌🏻
Lol you probably believe in Bigfoot too
What? 12 to 13 years between 1986 and 1988? 🤔
IKR
Thank you for that story🥀
Another great story well done thanks😊🥾🏔💫
They thought that it was a two day expedition?🤣
Its called "supplemental" oxygen, not "artificial", silly lol
at 9:45 you say "couldn't underestimate" ... That doesn't mean what you think it means.
You're tired?? DuH. Didn't you want to climb the mountain?
I'm surprised they didn't take any time to acclimate to the thin air.
"Artificial oxygen" or "supplementary oxygen"?
Imagine spending all the money to die. Just go sunbathe in Palawan, yo.
Too many people with no experience think they can do anything wauu how wrong they were
They were highly experienced climbers having climbed some of the most difficult mountains in the World. He came from generations of climbers.
I wonder sometimes if people in the comments actually watched the video.
@@jesusisking8502fr
@@jesusisking8502they climbed one of the world's hardest mountains with barely any gear. They deserved to die dude
first
and thank you for this
I always wonder why people think they can do whatever. It's like when those idiot people decided to go hiking on the Iran border and ended up in prison in " Iran. Or when that guy who went to N Korea for a vacation and they killed him for stealing a poster. Yes the mountain will kill you. Duh
I cannot comprehend why there are thrill seekers in this world. We have worked all our lives and so did our ancestors to survive and live and progress to have the most comfortable life attainable, but these people who already have them are going back to "primitive mindset" and seeks activities that triggers their survival instict. Just play a horror game on your PC it will give the same result but much safer.. unless you have a weak heart which might give you a heart attack. At least people would not risk their lives retrieving your body.
@@idiosamaal-fajita3768 that is totally not the point but goodluck
I agree! I used to play Doom on Windows 3.1 and I had serious palpitations and nightmares!!!
"The first [insert Guinness Book category] to climb K2. I'm waiting for the first in a bikini.
You could be the first!!
I was thinking of being the first to hop all the way to the top on one foot backwards! Wouldn't that be amazing!?
I think the closing words in this video are WAY TOO honeyed and romanticising ... 😕
Wish you had better writing for these. A lot of awkward and poorly used words/phrases. If you are not native English speaking, you can be forgiven but the video would be a lot better if the English script was better crafted.
Es DON RAMÓN!!!
Trust. Hard to come by. I dive and climb alone.
"Artificial oxygen"?
Not "above the ground". Above sea level.
Artificial oxygen and supplements 😂😂😂😂
i wonder what they make the artificial oxygen out of?
Its like these people wanted to die.
People exchange their life for rhe sammit..am sorry, but its unreasonable and silly
France born. Ok computer voice.
😂
The narration is lame on every level.
broken english??
Silly French

*pact. How tf did autocorrect let you write this?
@@bodhiswayze1892does it make it any less true? If people scale a known dangerous mountain without extra oxygen, without the tools they needed then yes they're looking to die.
