  • Episode 116: VF Days 8-9 | Aosta to Saint Vincent to Arnad
ℹ️ To help our legs recover from four very challenging hiking days on the Via Francigena, we take the bus from Aosta to Saint Vincent to enjoy a spa day at our hotel. Continuing on the self-care philosophy, we walk the next leg partially on the road to avoid some ups and downs on the actual VF route. See how we making the most of our holiday pilgrimage.

Glad you’re enjoying them, thank you! We knew we wanted to get to Rome so we looked at what day we needed to be there (and still have tourist time), then we worked backwards to determine where to start. Obviously, we would have loved to do the entire route but there’s just not enough time. Also, we maintain our philosophy that we’re “pilgrims who are also on holiday” so we’re not purists! ❤️ Hope that helps!

What is the accommodation like? Plenty of hostels/lots of pilgrims?

We’re using Sandy Brown’s guidebook for some of our accommodations and Booking.com for others. We haven’t encountered too many pilgrims, maybe 2-4 a day. You’ll find rooms but it’s recommended that you book a day or two in advance.
