Do you enjoy this format and would like me to continue it with other bands? :)
yesss
Anything you do max i'll be in !
Alice in Chains would be nice!
Yesss totally dude
Opeth and Chevelle
Nice to see Vicarious played with the 3 and 7 fret finger stretch. A lot of people play that part incorrectly I've noticed and you just can't get that tone and transition without it. Love the warm up sequence idea!
Awesome, glad you dig it! :)
I think people play 3x2 instead of 37 is because some people find the stretch too big I remember reading comments like "If That's to big For you Try 3x2 instead" Those Comments I've read recommended it to make it easier for other players not really because it is correct but hay if that's the correct way that's fine by me.
@@Jesse-mh6hv Can confirm. I've always been aware it's 37 but I can't do that stretch at all so 32 is the next best thing I guess
Now, that's what i call CATeralus
I love the effort you put into these videos, the tabs, the accuracy, the sound quality, the edits, their 5* I hope you'll cover reflection one day....or maybe the Holy Trinity :)
Thank you, Miguel! There'll for sure be a day where the Holy Trinity is covered. I can't promise when, but it seems inevitable :)
@@MaxNiessl man that cover would be amaizing, cant wait fot it!
Cat in background made this even better 😍
Thanks to your videos, I can now sloppily play through a majority of Invincible! Keep up the great work.
Awesome!
as a tool fan and intermediate guitarist, this is an awesome warm up to get the blood pumping! amazing work as always, max!
That's awesome! :D
That pneuma riff STILL kicks my ass. Those “inverted” (best I can describe) chords are the death of me.
Sounds good bro 🤘🏼
The vicarious intro is always one of my go to warmups
Pretty great idea and cool realisation, as always!
Cute cat!
Thank you! :)
Max, I appreciate your work. We look forward to the continuation :) Best regards
Thank you!
That Rosetta Stoned riff still kicks my ass, that is to say, my forearm, so hard even after months of practice. Especially the earlier part where it's played on 10 & 12. Always feels like my arm is about to fall off. Gotta keep practicing...
Anyway, awesome job as always, Max. I like this format. Would love to see other bands, too, like Soen, Rishloo, Karnivool, maybe even Meshuggah
This might sound super dumb so apologies if so but, definitely try to stay as relaxed as possible. Maybe try letting the muscle memory take over and keep your eyes closed. It will be annoying as fuck but once you go back to playing as normal it will feel like a breeze. Took me a while too. Same thing with H. Good luck, brother!
@@FoxtrotXero Not dumb at all. This is good advice. I always tense up when playing stuff like this. Doesn't help one bit but it's hard to avoid for me.
As a complete beginner this is my workout for the next year or so... Thank you very much!
Awesome, Mark! :)
I can't wait !!!! im ready with my guitar in hand :D
Awesome!
Is very rare that I hop on CZcams for guidance in a new endeavor and find EXACTLY what I am looking for. Your videos have taken me from “thinking” I wanted to pick up a used ESP or Epiphone single cut and learn TOOL songs, to knowing this is something I want to get decent at. Thank you for these well put together videos!
That’s great! Thanks 🙌🏼
This channel is pure gold
Excellent! Thanks for sharing
Impecable selection and what a glorious "pur-ball" you got there :D One of most annoying parts of a Tool song to play is just that bloody hammer on sequence on the very end imo. The Grudge part is a bit of twister because it's begins as an ascending riff and Aenema needs (aside from strength and coordination) a properly set up guitar (specially a properly slotted and cut nut) as those hammer on pull offs can be a nightmare if the string action on the first frets is off lol. Great video, as usual :)
Yep exactly! Thanks :)
Thanks for all your hard work.
i will try this today, great video also i love tool
Love this!!
Thank you for this!
Great effort sir!! Good wishes for you.
You started with my favorite riff dude
Killer video.
You’re playing is fantastic.
Thanks so much! You’ve earned a new subscriber.
Awesome! Welcome aboard 🤘🏼
Wow you jumped right into my favorite Adam riff to open so I instantly subscribed. Impressive work, thanks for sharing it all!
Thank you! :)
flawless and just epic as always!! I could have never learned Pneuma without you :) I've donated, well worth it!!
Awesome as always man!! Such a killer video idea!!🤘🏻
Thank you very much, Zach! Glad you dig it. Hope everything's good with you!
Super Format! 🤘
Danke dir! 🤘🏼
dude thats a new kind of cool tone!!!! and playing!
just what i needed. thanks max!
Bottom one of my favourite riffs to play 😤🙌🏻
Loved the video idea.
Glad to hear!
awesome job man! great tone and I appreciate how accurate your playing is, everything sounds exactly like the original
Thank you, Jake!
Awesome bro
I have a Schecter CR-6 and I'm definitely able to play at least some of the riffs slowly. Outstanding work as always!
Godspeed, Katherynne! Have fun :)
Rock on🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Fantastic!!!!
Thank you very much, greetings from Venezuela and Mexico, you are a Great, I love you and the channel haha
Awesome, Henry! You're welcome and thank you!
Loving the new Gibson Max!
BEAST! 🤘🏾
At least the 50 time i listen it and want to say Thank you Again !!!
so beautiful
this guitar color is great 🤩
This was cool man 🤜
Excellent video man! Sick idea and would love for you to do this with other bands.
Also, I would love for some more Wheel lessons! Their music isn’t tabbed anywhere, and your Vultures lesson was excellent.
Keep up the good work my friend!
Thanks! I’m still listening to their new record, it’s so good. I was planning on maybe doing Ascend, but we’ll see what happens with that.
The cat seems to enjoy your performance :D
You're the best, Max. Hands down
Thanks, Dan!
Thank you, Max!
Id love to see a video of how you keep your guitars setup. I have trouble setting up my action and intonation and it prevents me from playing along in tune whenever I learn a song. You always seem to stay perfectly in tune no matter how hard you play.
Well, you sure make this look easy
Would love to see more of this! For instance a compilation of stuff you already recorded like:
-Pull-though technique
-0-3-5/0-10-12 hammer ons
-Unison bends
-Dead notes
-Solos cause everyone loves those lol
-Cross string picking
-Chugging
Im sure theres more, but this would go on repeat for me as it would allow both warmup and technique practice without it getting tedious with repeating a single song/part.
Great stuff as always Max, hope to see you at Puscifer Berlin ;)
My neck is warmed up just listening and following
Sweet! I'm sure you can make another with more of them :)
Awesome
That toneeeeee 🤤
I'd love to see you tackle some Boris songs! There's a huge lack of learning resources for their music on the internet, and you are the best at these kind of videos, so I'd really love to see some of their songs on the channel!
I just noticed you don't have a full cover of Schism on your channel! I'd love to see a full version sometime dude! Fingers crossed!
I just came to watch you play 🤣 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice choices! The Rosetta Stoned hammer ons always wear me out lol
That’s why they’re in there :D
F'ing legend
great
Nice format bro, could you cover Third Eye or No Quarter next? Love your channel 💖
Thanks! Third Eye is always difficult, because you need some extra gesd. But No Quarter may be on here sometime :)
@@MaxNiessl :)
Fave
Fuck, this is amazing. Definitely need some more complex warmup riffs.
3:29 Cat 🥺♥️
Love this. Would be cool to have a compilation of all of the songs these techniques are used, eg Jambi, Invincible, Hooker with a Penis etc for his pull through technique and so forth. It would be a good way to practice the different ones without getting fatigue from one song/section.
Great job as always mate!
That is also an awesome idea!
Really creative! Curious to see this with soen tbh. :b
Thanks bud! Would be cool as well 🤘🏼
Final step, warm hands with your cat.
Hi! great video! Would love to see Warmup with Mastodon, this one would really got people sweating.
Thank you, Feno! Great idea!
Cat be like : "Not quite my tempo"
Yess, Opeth please
You've got high skill. I like your style. Fingers are moving very smoothly. How do people rich this level of playing? )
Thank you! It’s really just a lot of practice :)
🤘
hey max, I would love you to try sylosis if you have not heard of them it would be a very good fit for your channel. I can't believe more people have not heard of them they are extremely talented!
I actually have transcribed “Arms like a Noose” in winter, but haven’t made a video yet lol 😂
@@MaxNiessl that's awesome you are so talented. I love your channel. I've been working on to bid you farewell for a bit.
Third Eye with tabs next plsss!!!
I was just learning and playing that riff from the grudge before I saw the video the chances
we want more tool.....and cat too
Any tips on not getting the pick stuck on the fast palm mutes or just fast picks in general?
Cover request: Karnivool - All it takes
what does the P.M. over the invincible riff mean?
Why is it that your fingers look like brushing on butter-smooth strings???... I need hundreds more of practice hours. Loved this vid format
You can do it, Connie! Glad you like the format :)
I'm pretty sure invincible is more sweep picking than individual down strokes.
Why didnt the tempest pull through parts make it haha
Good video, tabs are a little small though. Other than that this is fantastic!
Do one for Karnivool?
That's an awesome idea! I'll just have to fish out the ones with the same tuning lol :D
Hey Max! Hope all is well! Any TOOL videos in the forecast?👀👀
Hey Jared, all good over here! The year has started out a bit busy so sorry for the lack of videos. I’m currently unto the Holy Trinity :)
@@MaxNiessl holy fucking shit…😦 no worries at all brother. No rush, but now I will be anxiously waiting lol 😂
@@JaredHarmonized Yeah, we’ll see! I’m already through Disposition, the Triad solo will be a challenge 😅
Schism on the way? 😍
We'll see. My cats already got the parts for Mantra down
@@MaxNiessl excellent! i knew we can count on the cat
Can you have the video track in like Spotify 😅😅😅😅
I’m afraid that’s not possible :/
Gonna get bottom or intolerance up at any point? Opiate doesnt get enough love when it comes to the tabs especially the earlier solos
No quarter?
Can I get the specs on your Les Paul?
Model? Are you playing the stock pickups? 498T?
I’m playing the stock pickups
🤘🤘🤘🤘, next band: Chevelle
Uhhh I'd love that!
Is that a LP custom you’re playing? Can I know the Specs? Gibson or Epiphone?
Cat!
FOOD
Ok, that's it, I'm getting an electric guitar (I currently just own an acoustic).
Awesome!
@@MaxNiessl hey! I'm trying to choose between a Gretsch jet and Epiphone LP studio, any thoughts?
O need a single vídeo of hooker and intolerance please!! You are great ,w lern froma Your videos thanks soo much
I was gonna take a shower ...time to grab the guitar instead 🤣
Priorities! Haha awesome, Alex :D
Love this dude! Great work. Would love to see a whole Hooker play through one day.
I think your cats trying to tell you something…
I know right? It's almost as if she's hungry
