- We joined Denmark to participate in the World's Largest Virtual Beer Tasting! The Guinness Book of World Records confirmed that on May 8th, we collectively beat the world record for the world's largest virtual beer tasting event! Here in DK it was known as, Verdens Største Virtuelle Ølsmagning. We had such a great time joining for the in person portion at Tivoli Gardens. Watch the adventures of Peter, LP, Miranda and Joshua.
Plus we've got the added treat of an interview with the Tivoli CMO - Michala Svane, who was kind enough to give us some insights into Tivoli and upcoming events.

You're a good interviewer Miranda.
i so much love you channel.. you are all so open minded about almost everything... glad to have you here in Denmark..
Thanks so much! We are glad to be here :).
I saw it on TV and though of you guys 🤭 love it when Peter gets drunk 🤣😂🤣
Haha Lis, thanks… Hard not to get carried away in the company of this lovely bunch (and ok - literally facing an avalanche of beer 🍻🍺🍺🍻🍺🍻😅)
🤣😂🤣🤪🤣😂
Peter, now formally known as Beerter :D
There should be more virtual beer tasting festivals. There are so many microbreweries that do an excellent job and need more attention for their beers (or meads) worldwide. But then again Denmark has its beer culture so it´s no wonder it starts in Denmark. The UK has an interesting beer culture. Would love to take part in what they could offer on a similar virtual tasting event.
It was a really cool idea and a lot of fun. I hope they do more here in DK. Though I wouldn’t mind a Belgium one also :).
You guys need to come and visit jutland more, we have: Djurs sommerland, Fårup sommerland, Lego Land, Tivoli Friheden, Randers Regnskov, kattegatcentret, Aros museum, Den gamle By, The never ending bridge, German WW2 war bunkers museum in Hansthoml, Grenen in skagen, Himmelbjerget, Silkeborg søerne, Gudenåen and much more..
We actually have quite a few past videos from Jutland and we're planning another trip there this summer! Den Gamle By, Mosgård Museum and Tivoli Friheden are all in our Århus Christmas video. There is a whole video about Lego House. Josh and Maya visited Aros Museum and Den Gamle By in another video about their annual Daddy Daughter trip. We even tried to go to the Never Ending Bridge but they had taken it up for winter!
Everything is just better in Jutland.
@@Jacob-Simonsen says you🤗
And Sjælland and Fyn, have all the other things🤗
I agree with Beanz. You might also enjoy the historical monuments in Jelling, Dybbøl Mølle and for beer tasting: Ølluminati in Viborg🍻
I usually visit Copenhagen for a week at the time, and tivoli is of course always worth a visit.
Josh - as an icecreamlover - you need to go to Helsingør and go to get yourself a "Knabbrostræde-is". You can get an "American" almost everywhere, but Knabbrostræde-is is worldfamous in Denmark. :)
Sounds like a great idea :).
Love the Star Trek jacket :)
GUF is at every icecreame shop in Denmark! And not just Tivoli.
Sadly not every icecream shop but certainly a lot.
@@NitronNeutron Well then its not the diffinition of a icecreme shop in Denmark if they dont have Guf :D
What a great way to start a Tuesday morning 😁 Thanks for another great video!
Next time you visit the park, you should try a "bubble waffle with soft-ice" at 'Ismejeriet.' (if you haven't already been there, done that, of course).
thank you for this video, i have to share it out so your fellow contrymen new if they ever come here, this is a place to see. Thank you for showing oure cool places in KBH. and i live in jylland but i love tivoli always have since i was young.
As always amazing video. Keep up the good work :D
Thanks!
Got really thirsty now,, could be nice with a cold Pale Ale..
I guess that was actually Miranda dancing on the live stream :-)
Ha, yes it was :).
I have never seen anyone, including Danes, enjoying Denmark with such glee :p
I was attending virtually - good times :)
Another 👍 video, guys!
I'm not a beer drinker, but you made it look fun! 🤣
im shure theres a beer for you too
Sorry Joshua, Merinda and the Danish guys! Your on my FB site, yet again :-) ! Don't worry! Folks give you a thumbs up, and like you :-) !
Love it! Thanks!
Great video! Your also getting really awesome at editing😁👍
The Tivoli woman was a bit cold I Think, I hope you get to met some of the more outgoing and happy danes. Like me 😁😁😁 jk.
You both are so funny when your tipsy😂😂
Have a great day!!
I attended home with some friends it was really fun and I have a very relaxed Sunday 🍻🤣 so cool that we beat the world record 🏆💪
i see uGuys on TV and in different news sites , kinda wierd when followed since like 5k :) gr8 video as always :)
Ha, we are adjusting to this also :). But super cool, glad you found us when you did! Thanks!
As always, love watching your shows :-) Would be great to share a beer with you someday.
Great way to start a Day 😁
I dig that Star Trek Jacket 🙂 Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra
Red guf? Only in Copenhagen! (laughing smiley!)
The founder of Tivoli was quite a character.
Haha and you seem a bit used during the beer tasting 🤣
OK Josh and Miranda gets drunk in different ways...... :) I reacts more as Josh ....
What no dancing 😂
Nice video :) May I suggest, if you not have tried it yet, and you do like icecream, try Vaffelbageriet, they make homemade icecream and it is not expensive at all, Fox News has named it the 3rd best icecream in the world :)
nice star trek jacket Miranda !!!
There is an interesting story behind that jacket, she might need to tell it one day. :)
It is my understanding that a beer tasting event, such as the one in Tivoli Gardens, is the first stage in the process of becoming a Danish citizen. I could be wrong ;o)
Haha, nice, we've checked that box with a video on CZcams to prove it :).
@@TravelinYoung Next up Gin tasting, should be fun to watch :D
i rember the first ride ever was on was the Mariehøne ride and the 2 was the fearywheel.
Haha that intro - you're making us quiet Danes more "outward American"!
One Dane at a time :).
Funny cause it's true.
@@TravelinYoung It's the second Invasion of the Body Snatchers - the pod-cast edition 😂
Any ice cream shop that sells: “Gammeldaws” (Ol’fashioned), offers “Guf” as add-on, to their Icecream. There are, however, ... huge differences in color and texture. Flavors are more or less similar. Although some are more tasty than others.
Best I’ve ever had was from a small icecream shop in Svendborg on Fyn.
Have you guys also tried Leffe and Grimbergen from Belgium, and Trappist munkeøl?
Oh, Leffe is my favorite! I have even been to the Abbey pictured on the logo once when we visited Dinant, Belgium. :)
@@TravelinYoung There are two Danish beers that I miss. Red Tuborg is one of them. Tuborg will occasionally re-introduce the Red Tuborg as a limited edition (It's kind of an amber ale). The other one is the Limfjordsporter from Thisted Bryghus (untappd.com/b/thisted-bryghus-limfjordsporter/19221). If you try the latter, make sure that you drink it at the right temperature - I think it is 7deg C, but read the label to make sure.
Which beer was the best for you, any ratings? Funny happy video, loved it! and needed it during this corona time! I am getting my first vaccine on monday the 17'th of may (Pfizer), what about you guys, how does it work for people with foreign passport?
I (Joshua) really liked the Great Skanderborg Turris Belgium Dunkel. Thanks for the kind words, it was a fun day.
Since we have yellow cards as residents we are treated the same as everyone else when it comes to vaccines. We still have a bit to go to reach our age group, but hopefully soon! I am getting tired of getting tested twice a week :).
@guydanish I preferred “Whirl Domination” from “To Øl” brewery - and then Kissmeyers “Garden of Serenity”
GUF is made of egg whites and sucker and is very easy to make at home..
Cheers 🍻
That "guf" was the most liquid, icky guf I have ever seen....
Nice to see you wearing a lapel microphone
Guf always tastes good and you can find the recipe on the internet as you can make it yourself at home
Oh, look, an interview, lets place ourselves right behind the person talking and start our own conversation. (02:30)
Yeah, that was quality. I tried to mask by moving while shooting and throwing in some b-roll as best I could.
@@TravelinYoung yes I did notice you tried to move around the problem a bit 😄
GUF is esentially unbaked meringue :) eeg whites and sugar mixed
Guf is fluffy and sugary;)
But.... where are your scores? I'm curious as to which beers you preferred? :-)
Haha, we lost track of scoring after a while. We started out with good intentions and then the alcohol caught up :).
But, I (Joshua) really liked the Great Skanderborg Turris Belgium Dunkel and Miranda seemed to prefer the Åben Stolen Red Berries.
@csjprivat I preferred “Whirl Domination” from “To Øl” brewery - and then Kissmeyers “Garden of Serenity”…
12 beers 'tasting' yeah yeah :-P Some really good brands though! Ugly Duck is probably my favorite!
The Åben Wild Berries was my favorite! - Miranda
@@TravelinYoung oooh I’ve tried an Åben once and it was good, so I believe you! I just never seem to find that brand where I live.
Who was performing? 🤩
Jung, one of Miranda's favorite bands.
@@TravelinYoung I thought so! I have a buddy that sets the lighting for events and he snapped me a video of Tivoli gardens! Glad you had a great time
WTF !!! GUF is not, i repeat NOT supposed to be liquid, it is supposed to be fluffy like whipped cream, like the skum in flødeboller !!!
those darned copenhageners ruins everything ;)
be sure to go to a real icecream shop next time you are in Århus and get the real deal ;)
Absolutly! Guf dosn’t run.
You can easily get fluffy guf in Copenhagen, don't look at one bad store and apply it to all the rest.
@@Bronzescorpion No, this must be an exception. It is the first time I have ever seen drippy guf. The guf-standard are usually very high.
Wich beer won overall?
That is a very good question, I am not sure :). We lost track when we hit our 6th beer.
@@TravelinYoung If it was fun, then it's OK, haha
@shuenix I preferred “Whirl Domination” from “To Øl” brewery - and then Kissmeyers “Garden of Serenity”
@@peterlaub9262 Ok, thnx
@@TravelinYoung 😲🙄😂
hmm the Guf i tried was more fluffy
It seems that you have had fun, but I now believe more that you have been inspired by the movie "Another Round" and you are trying to live out the idea that the human body should have 0.05 alcohol content in the body.
Be careful, that shit ain't Miller Lite :).
Ha, I never drank miller lite. I've always been a European beer snob, well before living here :). This was right up my alley.
@@TravelinYoung Great, Samuel Adams was usually my favourite when I lived in the States out of the american beers.
@@TravelinYoung I may be somewhat of a European beer snob as well, but at this very moment Pliny the Elder (Russian River Brewing Company) is my absolute favorite. Not too far a drive from Silicon Valley.
For Try it on Tuesday you should try some Danish music, I'd recommend trying out:
- Gasolin - the biggest band in Danish music history
- C.V. Jørgensen arguably the greatest songwriter in Danish music history
- Malk de Koijn - arguably the greatest hip-hop group in Danish music history, if you're into that genre
Soooo, what makes the beer tasting virtual? It all seemed pretty real to me.
There were thousands of people who were following along online. You could order a case of beer per person and have it shipped to your home. Then they live streames the entire event. In total, more than 12,000 people "attended" from all over Denmark and even one group from Ghana!
@@TravelinYoung oh wow. Neat stuff
One ting i don't understand is why people in Denmark celebrate 4 of July.._ not to diss the holiday but its an American holiday... It would be like americans celebrate 5 maj in the us...
I think Tivoli is going to try to start recognizing more national holidays, the 4th and the US being one of the first. It is a cool idea to bring different foods and culture into the park.
@@TravelinYoung don't get me wrong.._ I'm not entirely against it.._ i just find it werird.._
@@GarmrsBarking i hope you mean 5th June. We dont really celebrate 5th May as much as we should.
@@mathiashollbaum6312 i did Mean 5 maj because of its similarity to the independence Day in the us...
@@GarmrsBarking Ok. Not very simular but i get the point!
I am so so sorry I called yoy hot. sorry. kh. H.
Was it not the biggest virtuel beer tasting? If so you were a not part of it!
Am I the only Danish person who cringe so hard when hearing Danish people speak English? The accent is so easily recognizable.
As a non-Dane I absolutely love hearing Danish people speaking English. It means I am able to communicate with them, accent doesn't matter at all :).
Tivoli is a rip off. leave it to the tourists.
