We Went To Dollywood! | Park Tour, Roller Coaster Fun & Food!

- In today's vlog we head to Dollywood for the first time!! Thank you to Dollywood for inviting us out to take part in this media trip! This is the part we were so excited to experience! We start with a quick tour around the park to get better acquainted with where everything was, it's a pretty big park. We got to try some of the famous Cinnamon Bread and let us say that the hype IS REAL! Oh man! We kept asking if they would ever do shipments by mail because we would buy so many!! They don't do shipments by mail unfortunately but that just means we'll have to go back for more sometime soon! Then it was time to ride all the roller coasters! We weren't allowed to film on any of the coasters but thank you to Dollywood for giving us some on ride POV footage to share with you. Sorry it was so shaky but we hope it gave you an idea of what each coaster was like. Tim's favorites were Firechaser Express and Lightning Rod. We had some really good BBQ for lunch. Then we rode one of the only rides Jenn could ride, Rockin' Roadway. It was cute and very similar to Disney's Autopia with a more country theme. We got to see a lot of really great live music, which we loved! They also took us on a backstage behind the scenes tour of Wildwood Grove which is a new section of the park that's geared more towards younger kids and families. It opens on May 11th. Afterwards we got to tour Dolly Parton's retired tour bus, it was all custom and really a cool thing to see up close. Then we ended the day with dinner at the Front Porch Cafe, the food was very southern and so good! It was a great day at Dollywood and we can't wait to get back and explore more of the park, the food and the entertainment! Thank you again to Dollywood for the invite! "Maybe I'll pass out on this one." Never thought I'd hear someone discuss passing out on a roller coaster in such a cheerful manner. Dollywood looks great. Even for someone like me that doesn't do roller coasters.
I love that you point out the penny press machines! I always pack quarters and nice pennies in my purse on trips! I carry a pressed penny in my wallet from our 1994 honeymoon.
Hi Jenn and Tim! First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! So happy for you! I've been home for a week recovering from radiation therapy for thyroid cancer (I have to be isolated because of the radiation). Watching your videos has really helped me escape the boredom of being stuck at home with no visitors. Each video has been like a mini-vacation. Thanks for the work you put into these! THIS!!! I worked at Cedar Point last summer and it was a dream come true. I make multiple trips a year also just to visit. Best park I've EVER been to.
Lost Cause yasss!!!! Roller Coaster capital of the World! We go multiple times a summer, about 1.5 hours from Sandusky! My kids love roller coasters!!!
If you liked Lightning Rod, you'll also love Maverick and Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point. Y'all definitely need to take a trip up here once Jen can ride everything.
Steel Vengeance is my #1 overall and LR is my #4.

The cinnamon bread didn’t look that big from the first angle then Tim puts his huge hand next to it and you can tell the bread is huge too! Looks delicious. Great video thanks guys x
THe POV footage provided was ok, but I really miss Tim's "Whoa"and "Whee" exclamations. That being said, I LOVE wooden coasters...the way the wood flexes adds so much to the ride. Do they still have the birds of prey show? I had season tix to Dollywood when I lived there, and would go just for that show whenever I needed a pick-me-up.
I know they had the show last Halloween; we didn't get to see it, but I liked how you could go see all the participants in their "homes" between shows. (Checked the website: looks like they do still have the birds of prey show)

I lived in Sevierville for about a year growing up. I went to the same school that Dolly went to. One of my teachers, Mrs Parton, was a cousin of hers... as well as many of my classmates.
My mom used Dollywood as a babysitter of sorts when my brother and i had days off from school. That way we could never say were bored after she worked all day and try to get her to take us somewhere.
Some of my favorite memories as a kid are of Dollywood and Sevierville. I learned more about Dolly than I would never have expected and love her beyond words. Such a sweet lady that remembers where she came from.
Thanks loads for showing a piece of my childhood. Boy, do i want a funnel cake now.

How are the wait times for the rides at Dollywood? It seems they wouldn't be too bad. The lines at Disney are usually so long!
Lea Winter usually pretty fast on a slower day, like Wild Eagle at 10 minutes and so on. However, on busy days they can get over an hour. Lightning Rod, Tennessee Tornado, Wild Eagle, and Firechaser all have pretty long wait times on busy days!
Lea, if you go through Mon-Thurs it’s not bad at all! The weekend can be busy. But they do offer fast passes as well!

Thanks for visiting my home state and our home park! Dollywood was my first ever season pass park and we miss it dearly. Dolly is such an icon and is a beloved Tennesseean. She has done a lot to add on to the old Silver Dollar City park there.
If you guys really like large rollercoasters,go to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. It has the 2nd tallest rollercoaster in the world. Its right by where I live and I HIGHLY recomend it!
Steel Vengeance is my #1 roller coaster overall and more than worth the trip to CP alone, despite the already great lineup.
One of the best previews of my home park. You hit all the talking points and getting a inside scoop on Wildwood Grove is a plus. I'll be there Saturday hopefully if rain doesn't dampen the day. Great job!
You loved Firechaser! That is my daughter's favorite, our record is 6 times in a row. You also ate at our two favorite restaurants. So glad you enjoyed our park!!
OMG !I have lived in Tennessee all of my 53 years and even though I have been to the Smokey Mountains at least 30 times, I have never been to Dollywood ,but thanks to your inspiration I will be going very soon! Thanks!

My husband and I LOVED Dollywood. He was very resistant going, thinking it was a little park. Don’t be fooled. This park is world class with great coasters and entertainment. I’m so glad you got to go and enjoyed both your points of view.
You a totally get to blow your own glass. There is a platform you stand on and they tell you what to do. I think it's like 35 dollars.
I’ve done a blown glass experience somewhere else and they had the options of shipping it to you or you could pick it up when it was ready

I didn't get to do it when I was there (but I absolutely plan to budget to do so on my next trip), but I loved looking at all the different colors of glass that they let you choose from for your own ornament. So cool!
me and my sister made a blown glass ornament at dollywood for christmas. You get to choose the colors and design and you get to help blow the glass. They tell you when to blow and when to stop. :) it was neat! You can pick up the blown glass at the exit gift shop on the way out.

I’ve been going to Dollywood since 2012 and I love it. Been going there every other year and I remember when even wild eagle wasn’t there
Dollywood is hands down one of the best parks ever.. its so interactive with kids and adults, its really for the whole family.. Was said to see she doesn't have Thunder Road anymore.. it was one of the favs.. but Dolly really knows how to give everyone as good time!

Dolly Wood is a fantastic place to visit. I live vary close to dolly wood and we go up every two weeks. It is just a really nice place to spend the day. I would highly recommend everything there!

I went to Dollywood when I was around seven years old, and I really only remember bits and pieces. I found out I’m going again for spring break six years later and I’m thrilled to relive the few memories I actually can remember

The blazing fury! It is such a classic ride. I can pretty much quote the entire thing at this point haha.
Dollywood used to be called The silver Dollar City and blazing fury was the only ride there really.
there two different parks. Silver Dollar City is the brother park and bigger park while Dollywood is the sister park.
You should definitely check out Dollywood during the Pumpkin Luminights Festival later this year

I have a question that you might have answered before in a video or Q&A video, but I haven’t found it. My question is this: what footwear and bags/purses/backpacks do you take with you/wear on a full park day when you expect to be walking and standing for 8-12+ hours? What style and brand of shoes do you both like and what bags/backpacks (does Jen take a purse in with her?) have you found work the best and why (again, any favorite brands or styles?). I would love to get both a men’s and women’s opinion on this! I am sure other theme park fans would also be interested since I’m sure the wrong attire and accessories can make or break a long day. Also, what essential items do you never go to the parks without? I would love to hear tips and recommendations from the “Pros”!

I'm much more of a fan than I realized as I sat in my car crying happy tears because two of my favorite people are going to have a baby. Then I find out they were in my back yard and I didn't know it ! Seriously, when you come back to Pigeon Forge you are invited to come have lunch at the Wildflour Bakehouse. My best friend opened it in Sevierville TN, Dolly's hometown. We would love to see you all and have you sample some of our family favorite baked goods. We both consider Tennessee home now but are both transplants from Florida. She's from Sarasota and I'm from Cocoa Beach. Thanks for all of your content and for sharing your lives . It restores my faith to know there are still good people in the world !

If you like Lightning Rod, the same company that made it is doing the Gwazi conversion at Bisch Gardens. The company is called Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC). They currently make some of the most exciting coasters in the world. Great video. I always liked Dollywood and consider their customer service level to be on par with Disney.

Every year my family has gotten season passes to Dollywood because we are only 2.5 hours away but I’ve been to Dollywood well over 100 times in my life and every time I have gone to Dreamland Drive-Inn every single time. I love it!!!
I went to DollyWood 4 years ago and so much has changed! I’m shocked!
One thing I LOVED about Dollywood when I went in 2015 was the food. It seemed like the food at Dollywood tasted so much better than typical theme park food. I remember that gristle house cinnamon bread, too. Yum!

Wow, Haven't been to Dollywood since the mid 90"s when I took the family on a road trip from Boston to Pigeon Forge. Love the Smokey Mountains. Thanks for the update on this park, I'll have to go there again with the grand kids.....Love watching you guys

I lived in that area from 97-99 and went to Dollywood a few times. So nice. My favorite part was heartsong theater. River rampage was fun too. And yes, you get soaked!

Dollywood is my 3rd favorite theme park behind Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. It really is top notch. Beautiful scenery and the layout is very unique. Highly recommended.

I went to Dollywood in 1989 with friends ( we were doing a rd trip and ending at Disney , we slept in tents and the car ) I was 19 yrs old and there was hardly anything there !!! I remember the chapel and her childhood home and a bunch of country singing ....I don’t even remember if there was a single ride !!! We were so upset we wasted our very limited money here !!! Boy oh boy has it changed !! For yrs now I have heard good things about Dollywood and I’m thinking of going here this summer ....so thanks for the vlog !!! So soooo excited for the 2 of you and can’t wait to see u as parents ....it’s a trip unlike any you’ve took before !!! 🥳🤪🤗

That POV of the coaster was actually pretty sweet watching it on my new big screen. Was like a motion theater!! Now I'll have to watch some with my kids and see what they think. I must bring my boys to Dollywood. Super bucketlist.
As a coaster enthusiast, I will say I cringed a few times during the video, but I loved it nonetheless! I'll also say Lighting Rod being "temporarily closed" is somewhat of a meme but it really is a great ride (if it's open). Great video, as always!
Love seeing that Tim is such a vintage car fan. Me too! If I ever win the lottery I would love to get an old 50's era car with great big fins in the back and completely restore it. Looks like you guys had a great time at Dollywood. That area of TN is gorgeous.
