Amazing insects and sounds : ) Great close up : ) Wonderful presentation and video Andrea : ) Full Watch : ) Thank you for sharing this wonderful presentation and video : )
Hello Andrea, What an impressive filming, I really enjoyed close ups and amazing sound of Cicadas- always remains me of Mediterranean. Thank you for your lovely sharing. Warm wishes from both of us L&G
Oh, thank You dear Linnea! There are many Cicadas everywhere here in Japan in summertime, so it is quite easy to film them. I should have used a tripod at least for this video, but my laziness won once again!!! Fresh wishes from my family, dear L&G!
The cicada, such a noisy little critter. We used to laugh at them when we lived in Greece because they weren't that good at landing, it was often a crash landing. It was odd too, we barely noticed the noise until it stopped and then the silence was deafening. The song around the one minute thirty mark was a new one one me. Always love my visits to you Andrea.
What a wonderful comment dear Steph! You are right! They are not good flyers and their movements may appear desperate! But I love them as they are so fascinating! 7 years underground and then just some days in our world...
Usually, when I'm in the forest I can only hear the sound, but you are very lucky to be able to record this cicada with the sound. 1 LIKE this footage.
Hi Andrea, how beautiful they all are but the last one of the Hyalessa maculaticollis (Oncotympana maculaticollis) is very special. Superb video. LG, Tine
That’s so awesome that you got them making their sounds. I hear them up high in the trees and only find dead ones. You did a magnificent job recording them. I truly enjoyed. Have a great day. 😊🧚🏼♀️🥰
Wow, amazing close ups..Whenever we spot a cicada they don't seem to do anything but urs showing lots of movement :D Thanks for sharing this lovely video !!
Well, Cicadas movements are really slight when they do not fly so I tried to follow their sound to spot the individuals that were actually calling. Thank You always dear Friends!
👍 #16 Good morning Andrea, the second this started, it reminded me of this crazy sound from when I was in Majorca, Southern Spain 2 seasons back. (covid stopped me from my planned holiday there last week, sadly) I had wandered into the edge of this woodland and could hear these crazy sounds that I had never heard before. I knew it was from some kind of bug and searched for a good hour, without seeing anything. Then on 0:39 seconds of this video, what seems like the 'exact' sound from memory brought it all back. I think it was the same creatures. OMG! that sound on 1:05 is crazy! like something from a sci-fi horror film! Amazing creatures and incredible close-up footage my dear friend, well done. 👍◕‿◕
In my opinion this video is so-so and I was uncertain about publishing it or not. Glad to have made it! I heard Cicadas only once when I was living in Italy, so they were a discover for me here in Japan. I liked them immediately but if You are close to them they will easily destroy Your ears! ^ ^ However, to be honest, even the tiny Tree Frogs on another my video were a terrible trial for my ears!!! Thank You always dear Jane!
Thank You for Your kind comment! They produce their sounds using a membrane in their abdomen and I imagine that different shapes and rhythms create these different calls.
At 1:28 i thought my alarm clock was going off. and i am really glad we don't have those 1:19 sirens around here. My highly sensitive nervous system is not exactly a fan of those hissing, buzzing, rasping, jarring sounds, but my eyes were very happy with your close-ups of the different Cicadas, dear Andrea. Thank you for the fantastic show!! Many, many hugs and kisses to you and not the Cicadas 💚 Ma
Dear Ma, I actually love Cicadas because I love hot weather. It makes me feel invincible. On the contrary in winter I feel like an old man walking on the edge of the precipice. I must be always careful! ^ ^ That is why I like their sounds too, because they tell me I am in full strength! ^ ^ Thank You for enjoying them and bearing their sirens! ^ ^
@@AndreaNature i can 100% relate to that, Andrea. i love being in India, because it never gets "really" cold. My system does not agree with cold weather, snowfall always caused a lot of body pain, even when i was a teenager... but cicada heat is another extreme, it makes my brain boil. In every case,i feel like an old woman... which i am, so everything is fine 😃
They are very common here and so they are easy to observe. They produce their sounds using a membrane in their abdomen. Thank You dear Jacq! Wishing You a happy time ahead!

They are very noisy because their calls are so loud, but I love them!!! ^ ^ Thank You very much for Your energetic comment dear Friend!
@@AndreaNature Haha Yes Amazing sounds : )
WOW, wonderful macro dear Andrea. I enjoyed it very much. Greetings Juraj Big L
I should have used a tripod at least for them but I kept my handholding tradition! ^ ^ Thank You for the appreciation!
Hi Friend! Really awesome!👍6
Cicadas make one of the best sounds in Nature.
At least we can say that they do their best! ^ ^
Come sempre bravo carissimo Andrea!👍👍👍

I filmed them mostly in city parks where there are more chances to find individuals in low places. Thank You a lot!

Superb video. LG, Tine
Thank You dear Tine! I filmed the last one very closely and it was a pleasure for me too! ^ ^ Hugs from Japan!
Wow very nice filmed my friend. Interesting sounds!! 👍👍
Thank You very much dear Friend for appreciating this simple video! Greetings from Japan!
Amazing, dear Andrea! You have captured amazing macro - shots, sounds are also interesting. I really enjoyed in watching. Thumb up!
Thank You dear Vily for appreciating this simple video! Have a great weekend and stay safe!
Amazing insects and colors. Great close up.
Nice video friend. Thank you for sharing.
Thank You also on behalf of the Cicadas! Their "kids" will come out of the ground in 7 years!
Always a pleasure, dear Andrea. Wonderful close-ups. Thanks for sharing.
I wish you a pleasant evening.
Best regards, Knut.
It is a pleasure for me to have You here dear Knut! Hoping that You are well, greetings from Japan!
Thank you very much. ◕‿◕

Hey Andrea. That is quite a crazy but awsome sound. Great footage. Greets Stefan
Hahhhaha, yes, You are right! At first I was quite surprised hearing their sound!
Fantastic close views of the 5 Cicadas and their voices. Their different calls are amazing to listen to! Best regards
I too like them because I like hot weather but now I have to wait next summer to hear them again!!! ^ ^ Thank You dear Cathy!
Thanks for sharing
Very interesting video with these 5 cicadas. We also hear cicadas almost every day, but I couldn't record them as well as you. Great! Greetings, Jane
Thank You dear Jane! I suppose that Cicadas are easier to film in Japan. Have a great end of November!
Amazing
I’m like thanks 👍🔔
Beautiful macro !
Thank You very much dear Mircea for appreciating this video! Greetings from Japan!
Wow, another eye-catching video... Great work..Take care.. Greetings from California...
Thank You so much for Your positive feedback! Take care You too and have a pleasant weekend ahead!

Wow. Amazing to see it in closeup view.
Absolutely amazing details. I always wondered how cicadas produce that distinctive noise. Now I saw it!

Incredible 😄 I have never heard such a sound! Come to think of it, yes: in the Pacman game!

Wow Andrea, so great close ups - all the scenes and sounds are magic!!! A perfect video. Kind regards, Rolf
Thank You for Your too kind comment, dear Rolf! I admit that I should have used a tripod at least for this video, but I keep up with my style ^ ^
Hello, friend.
Wow, awesome!
You've captured the cicadas' cries so well.^^
You did a great job.
Thank You always for appreciating, dear Friend!!!!
There was one in my backyard, so noisy!
Hehhehhe! Yes, they are noisy, but I like them the same ^ ^
Great to see and hear this.
I thought they make the sound with their wings.
Thanks for this share. I enjoyed really.
