The last time I was at Gikomba Market was 2010. How time flies. You're a brave one to visit the place.
I have visited this market back in September of last year because someone told me that this was where you could get wholesale prices.
A lot of these salesmen are super aggressive and I had to tell a few of the guys to back up and calm down before I leave. They were making me feel uncomfortable and not let me just look around and shop. It was like two to three of them trying to help me at once following me around. Most of these guys are on commission only so they only get to eat what they kill. Keep up the great work Czech

God bless you Czech. I visited Kenya 🇰🇪 in 2021. I had a great time there. Kenya is a beautiful and lively place. God bless the man and Uncle Mo of Kenya. I enjoyed watching the video. When l was there in Kenya my friends and l went to that same area to see what was there. The locals salemen would follow you all the to the open street to get you to buy something. And even though we did buy to support them but they do try to raise the price. We also visited some other beautiful places of Kenya that will take you breath away!!! Kenya is a place worth visiting. 😊 🇰🇪😢

Hey I know you have gone round Nairobi with friends ..that's great but like to give you a proper tour with detailed history..and like to get you to places you havent got into yet. Places that truly define nairobi.and Al be glad to do it free😊😊 hallaback.
The "brokers" are all over Gikomba, they sell you before the owner spots you and they get their cut if you buy from that specific seller. It is just how it works. Because I know the place well and how it operates I just avoid them and go straight to the stall and deal with the seller directly. Gikomba is one huge, chaotic place that has literally everything especially clothes and apparel that are very affordable and good quality second hand clothes. It is packed as well and you have to be aware of your sorroundings and your property. It is not for the faint hearted and I commend you for being bold and exploring it.

It's good you had an experience of Gikosh. The market will be nonexistent in the next 5 or 10 years. There are constant fires and after a fire, you see a building coming up. Private developers and authorities are grabbing the market. Every time I visit the market, I have to plan ahead and I won't carry my primary phone or take my car.

Nah, the real way to handle this situation is to buy but to bargain for local prices. They probably overpriced him 3x the original price which is why they followed him cuz they felt like they could get more out of him.
