In my opinion John Farnham is the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, he can sing anything, any genre. The harmonies in this are amazing too.

I haven’t heard about that…that’s just awful. As far as LRB, I’m a Shorrock fan, but I love what John did before, during, and especially after his 5 years with LRB. This news really hit hard, as I know it did for John, his family, friends, and fans worldwide. God be with you John.

This is the best vocal band I have ever heard. In my opinion --vocally they even surpass the Eagles vocally. That says a lot as I grew up with and absolutely love the Eagles. Just about every member of this band is an incredible singer. Putting them together is the dream team of bands.

My favorite LRB song. John Farnham can flat out sing and the way he was right on pitch through this whole live performance is impressive. What a range he has and just enjoys what he is doing. The harmonies of LRB rank right up there with the Eagles or any other vocal group. Underrated with any of their lineups in my opinion.

I have always loved this band; from the very first song I heard from them & it really did'nt make any difference to me if it was Glen or John singing lead, both are excellent singers and it's a damn shame they couldn't worked out things enough to get back together because with all the impressive talent they had I'm certain they would have had mega-more huge hits for the world to enjoy, and here it is some 40 plus years later and I'm still listening; thank you Little River Band for the masterpieces you've added to my heart...

I remember as a child going for drives around Victoria with my Dad and Mum and siblings. So many great songs/bands. His favourite place to take us was Ballarat. We passed through Little River and he told me that’s why they decided to name the band. They were driving around and passed through and said “hey how bout Little River Band? “Also earlier talking to my Mum (my Dad passed) I was surprised that she didn’t know Birtles and Goble who sang one of my brothers favourite songs “I’m coming home” were also in LRB. My brother was in a induced coma last June and while he was in hospital I kept playing that song for Mum ❤

I love how at 9:11 Don was explaining in a sarcastic way that most male musicians are not attractive to the females and John characteristic of his sense of humour says yes that’s true 😂 I have seen him live and he is hysterical it was fantastic a John Farnham concert plus a comedian in between sets. Sending him and his family so much love and support ❤❤❤

I saw LRB at Revesby Workers Club way, way back when and honestly it was one of the best live gigs I've ever been to. Didn't like Johnny Farnham much and only went because my girlfriend wanted to but, wow, that night I walked away a believer in an amazing voice perfectly surrounded by some of the most eye wateringingly beautiful harmony ever produced in this fine land and was shattered when too quickly he left to let Glen Shorrock come back. Ok, I know it was his band but John, you made something wonderful truly amazing. Thank you for a memory that I hope shall never fade away. May your star shine brightly forever guys, you filled my heart with joy and wonder and now you have again, thank you to the best

John Farnham didn’t leave Little River Band like Glenn Shorrock did . Glenn was fired by the other members .
John in 1986 was already working on Whispering Jack while juggling LRB commitments .
LRB had an 8 album recording contract with with American label Capital Records was finished with No Reins album released May 1986 . Capital didn’t like John style and only 6 tracks he sang lead vocals on Bassist Wayne Nelson sung lead vocals on the other tracks and Capital Records chosen Wayne’s songs over John’s to be the singles .
So John decided to leave because he didn’t have a solo recording deal and LRB was without a recording deal from 1986 , they was to the cusp of breaking up with John Farnham , keyboardist David Hirschfilder and manager Glenn Wheatley parting ways from LRB . LRB was also in the red the band owed a lot of money . John didn’t get paid John while in LRB .
It wasn’t until 1988 Graham Goble talked up Glenn Shorrock new management and recording deal with MCA
which only lasted 2 albums . And top ten song with Love Is A Bridge in 1988 .

To bad Johnny didn't play, cause you can't have two lead singers....then they could've had Glen come back and you would've had the most powerful vocal band in the world. I like both of them, but I saw them when Glen came back in a very small venue..( 500 seat club ) As somebody that was in the music business I was sickened that they were working these small rooms when they sold millions and millions of records I think this was about 1995 or 96 They sounded unbelievable, but so goes the music business. Peace

Always great vocals no matter what the line up. John Farnum was really a step above Glenn Shorrork but I still like him.
Great three part harmony but the bassist Wayne Nelson has a great voice and would of made an unreal four-part Harmony. We were all very lucky to have grown up in the 70's 80's 90's. So many great bands musicians and singers.
