While she eventually would have died without the Delusion since her body became unstable, using the delusion to stabilize her body came at a cost to her strength overtime. Now, while that was still a smart decision, (You wanna live at least-) that won’t change the fact that it reduced a lot of her power.

    Spoiler Alert..
I think the reason why Signora was so violent against Venti actually make sense. As God (and guardian) for Mondo who likely absent when the catastrophes happened and killed her lover, of course she will also took the blame to Venti/Barbatos too, and that's why she took the Gnosis from him by force and looks like doesn't have any respect from him.
Sadly we doesn't have any special cutscenes about her past, it surely will make her death much more impactful. We know her past from artifact and item description, but not all player spend them self digging the lore.

    • @poyopoyo7847
      @poyopoyo7847 Před 2 lety +1078

@@atharvawalinjkar672 500 years ago there was a woman who loved to sing in Mondstat named Rosalyne Kruzchka Lohefalter. She fell in love with the Wolf Pup Knight named Rostam, a noble knight who was the first ever Grandmaster’s companion. Rosalyne was a sorceress who left temporarily to study pyro magic in Sumeru. During the time she had studied there, the cataclysm occurred, which was a tragic event that happened as a result of Kheanriah being destroyed by Celestia. The cataclysm unleashed terror and monsters from the abyss all over Teyvat that found their way to Mondstat and killed the citizens. Rosalyne returned to find Rostam killed by these abyss monsters. She was angry and sad, blaming her tragedy on incompetent gods(Venti) and the Abyss. Using her magic, she sacrificed her body and turned into liquid fire. This sacrifice gave her the power to transform the Crimson Witch of Flames(In her boss she is the Crimson Witch of Embers, a weaker version of herself after hundreds of years). With her powers she "cleansed the land of crookedness"(the monsters), however the people of Mondstat were terrified of her and called her a witch, driving her out of Mondstat.
Devastated after her god never showed up to rescue the city, after her lover died and after the citizens outcasted her, she was on the brink of death as her magic nearly burnt away her heart. However, a member of the Fatui Harbingers, The Jester(Pierro; first Fatui Harbinger), found her and offered her a cryo delusion. She took the delusion to save her life and suppress the flames. This helped her survive for 500 years. Pierro used the opportunity to manipulate her into joining the Fatui and swearing loyalty to the Tsaritsa, as she resonated with the goddesses’ goal to create a perfect world devoid of suffering and because she is now grateful and indebted to the Fatui and Snezhnaya for saving her life.
At this point, Rosalyne has long died and all that was left was Signora, a personification of Rosalyne’s sorrow and hatred.
I hope I got most of the story
(Note: After reading up a little more, I may have been wrong to assume Venti never showed up as he did summon Dvalin to defeat Durin near the end. However Venti certainly left enough gaps in time to become so weak that he had to venture into long bouts of sleep to recover from battles. This itself is more of the story’s way of showing the downside and offering criticism on Venti’s ideals of freedom, as seen with mentions in story like, "What is freedom if demanded to you by a god" or something among those lines. So it is not entirely Venti’s fault for never saving the city, but more of his overall flaw in a double-sided ideal of freedom, which comes down to debate and opinions of his standards rather than actual criticism on him as an archon/ruler. Venti even recognizes his mistake with Signora, and now Dvalin was about to suffer the same tragedy. Saving the city, being ostracized for mistakes that weren’t his fault, allowing himself to be manipulated by evil forces and turning against the country, is exactly what happened with Signora, but this time Venti learns from the past and stops him. This section is mostly my opinion though)
Edit: many notifications later and I realize some info needed tweaking lol
Edit 2: I came back to listen after a while and noticed a lot of these replies treat this story like it's black and white... Both Signora and Venti are flawed. I think this is the reason the game will never explore these more mature stories because of the lack of narrative comprehension here...

      @pyrojam321moo Před 2 lety +35

Most of this felt really good, but the last line really grated on me here, so I'd like to offer my own translation of "Having long ago spoken my icy vow to the flame, I feel the glory that has been radiated." or, alternatively, "Having long ago spoken my icy vow, the flame I feel is the glory that has been radiated." It depends on if it is "Votus porro canus fatus ignis, sentio radiatus gloria," or "Votus porro canus fatus, ignis sentio radiatus gloria." so pick whichever one you prefer. "Ignis" is a third declension noun and can be either the object of the first clause or the subject of the second, which makes the location of the comma really important, and I personally can't hear it in the song.
For further reference, "Fatus" is a perfect active participle, meaning it is specifically "having spoken to", not the passive voice of "having been spoken to". The translation seems to have mixed it up with "fatum", which means fate, and is an easy mistake to make. "Porro" is a stupid word that either means "moving forward/onward/towards" or "back then, in the past", and knowing Signora's history (and the use of the perfect verb case), I chose to take the later, less common usage. "Canus" is specifically an adjective for the color of light frost, and with it being paired with "votus" for "vow", I chose to translate it as "icy", though "gray", "hoarfrost", or "whitish-gray" would also work. "White" itself is right-out a bad translation, Latin is very specific about its colors for white ("Albus" for matte, flat white and "candidus" for bright, shining white). "Radiatus" is a perfect past participle, letting us know that it "has been radiated" (and no longer is being radiated, as this is the end of the story), not that it is "radiating".
...And that's twenty minutes of my life I'm not getting back.

Also my grandmother knows Latin language and she said that this is just absurd. At 5:14 the woman's voice actually says this: "Vae victis fortum malum, vae ignis tinea filia" which translates to: "Woe to the defeated/conquered evil warrior, woe to the daughter of the fire moth. She’s been fighting a long battle all of her life and something she loved dearly was taken from her and then her entire life was taken from her. I’m honestly surprised she kept pushing on for how long she lived. But that just makes her death even sadder.

Signora is officially top on my list of "Characters who are actually overflowing with lore and make me love them" because god I just feel the tragedy coursing through her. I feel bad every time I hear her say "I never asked for redemption". She had an ambition and something that meant the world to her and she's not afraid of the point of no return. Her delusion was actually restraining her, keeping her calmed and bound by the idea that her efforts and work were in the name of something that mattered to her when her real ambition was simply to cleanse the world of the evils that took everything from her. She did nothing to hurt anybody else but they shunned her and called her a witch when she was just a woman driven by her immeasurable love. It burned until she couldn't help but turn anything around her into ash.
And I just REALLY like Pyro characters. I wish someone loved me like Signora loved her partner.

    @astridmustikasyamsuri6207 Před 2 lety +51

I think people misinterpret signora so bad, it's either she is despicable spiteful women or she is a wounded puppy dog saint.
She is none of those, she just a normal human, choosing to abandon everything after traumatic experiece & start anew for future she wants. She hates the ABYSS, not necessarily the gods (this one probably later on) Her lover died by the abyssal creatures that flood teyvat when cataclysm hit, like we know what kind of abyssal creatures looks like, example: the new enemies, the rift hound that bleed you dry. At that moment we know each archon had their fight, zhongli try to quell abyssal force in chasm in tenacity of millelith, venti whole fight with durin immortalize in skyward series & in festering desire/dragonspine spear, ei's battle is recorded in hakushin ring alongside with kitsune saiguu, if I'm not mistaken.
But as she rampaged killing abyssal creature she turned into her second phase, she consumed liquid fire & become one with it, people she encounters were terrified but she care not of that thing because her motivation is revenge to the creatures that killed her lover. As she dying out of flame, the first fatui recruit her n gave her cryo delusion so she can contain her flame & y know, live n well again, she feels like having second chance & probably want a "stainless" future (which honestly, a bit creepy n culty sorry fatui simps) tsaritsa envisioned, where it seems no abyss no celestia.
She worship tsaritsa onwards & look down others that doesn't share her majesty's view, as she promised her that stainless future. So her assault & antagonize nature to other nations or gods is not her real character, her character are seems to be loyal to her loved ones & smart. Though due to her traumatic experience her loyalty lies fully now for tsaritsa's ideals. When she mock venti, it is because compared to her majesty, venti is this weak god that unable to promise his people anything, certainly he can't grant signora's wish. Because his fight against durin is well known, she MUST KNOW that venti took fight, he is not just a pedestrian, it's just now she is in headspace that tsaritsa is the best & other archon pale in comparison or more foolish than her lord.
Venti, not really helping by being sassy & was friend with tsaritsa mock signora's arrogance, like she stole her smile from her master, he probably doesn't know who is she before being la signora, archon is not all seeing either so far as we know like Ei that literally can choose to ignore her surrounding or zhongli that can't immediately tell who kun jun was (he possessed by azhdaha's good side)
So yeah, signora is revenge driven character that is loyal to her new lord that promise her a painless, beautiful future that no other god seems dare to promise her. She is just like other fatu, she hold on to a delusion of a promised land, a promised future that she forgot that other human... matters too, she forgot that she once belong to mondstadt yet dare to offer to kill off dvalin n have fatui squad prying on mondstadt's defense, her bitterness doesn't justify her act of betrayal to her hometown & innocent people that live through none of the shit she saw. I doubt rostam even recognize her if they ever met in after life as she discarded her identity for her service to the tsaritsa
She know she need no redemption in her dying quote, so stop pitying her, she can back off from fighting the traveler but she also want to erase threat to tsaritsa's plan THATS why she took the opportunity to duel us, TO WIN N GET US EXECUTED. It is not out of character, her motivation is tsaritsa's centrist & she die with her will intact. I actually feel she is badly written because she THREAT raiden & cower in last minutes, she should be running or try to avoid raiden if she is so cunning. Her last moments are so pathetic it is laughable when she can just smart it out away (if mhy wanna keep her as playable, but now we know signora is a sign that they won't hesitate to kill a character that potentially provitable, sooo BEWARE??? I GUESS??)

  • @pongsonsirirat1717
    @pongsonsirirat1717 Před rokem +11

Killing Signora off is just a way to showoff Raiden’s power that we really didn’t even need to witness in order to acknowledge it.. I mean it’s great to invest a lot of lore and backstory into a character outside the cutscenes and let the players discover it themselves but the least they could do is to plant a seed of curiosity into the player’s mind first beforehand. All we see of her is just her being a bad guy bossing people around and then seconds later BOOM! She’s dead. We saw absolutely jack shit about her true identity and intentions in the game.
Just because she’s not gonna be playable doesn’t mean that she deserves no sympathy from the players. Scaramouche was a wayyy bigger prick than her big time and has done countless unforgivable things but got away with it after a couple of story quests, same with Raiden just because they are meant to be playable. Mihoyo really expect us to forgive her after she SLAUGHTERED half of her own people for her selfish desires by giving her “a cute uncookable mommy” meme.
I was actually very interested in this game’s stories but this is one of the points that really got me super annoyed.

She met a young knight named Rostam whom she soon fell in love with, after at least a year of being with him, the two got married. Rostam was a young knight who was close friends and rivals with The Grand master of favonious. Rosalyn had gotten a letter stating she had been accepted into sumeru’s akademiya. (The same academy of magic that Lisa had went to). Rostam gave her a hydro time-piece to keep track of how long she would need to stay at the academy before she could go back to her hometown and her beloved.Sadly, tradegy struck Teyvat in form of the cataclysm (the destruction of Khaenri’ah), her beloved had died while fighting to protect and survive on the battlefield. When Rosalyn returned she soon heard the news of her dear Rostam having passed away. In her sadness and new found fury, she burned herself in liquid fire to be reshaped and reborn as a phoenix would, as the crimson Witch of flames or embers and with the delusion, the fair lady. Now known and renamed as La’Signora, ranked as the eighth ratio harbinger aged probably roughly more than 500.

In my interpretation, the Male Lyrics represent the view of the Traveller while the Female Lyrics show the view of Signora. When both Male and Female sing the same lyrics, it's like how both view each other. Traveller thinking they are right and the Fatui in the wrong and vice versa. But then again,it doesn't make sense for the Traveller to fight for a God so I can see that my interpretation is quite wrong.
The possibly only correct interpretation is that Signora/Rosalyn thinks she's in the right because she thinks that the Tsaritsa is doing this to save Teyvat.

Official lyrics are out (according to user DrPaimon !) Here's a very rough English translation!
    #01 Chrysalis Suspirii
    Ashes to my heart
    A shivering cold
    That I am demanding
The day of wrath is the end!
    Light, fallen
    Foolish, blind
    savage, bellows
    Commedia dell'arte
    Ah...
    Lights of ice!
    Light, fallen (Oh tragedy, bright)
    Foolish, blind (Oh fateful, unlucky)
Savage, folles (Oh comedy of the fools)
    Ice rays (Oh, ice comedian)
    Oh Chrysalis' sigh
    ...
    #02 Saltatio Favillae
    To the fire and ashes
    Will rise from anger
    You see the heat
    On stage, dance
    Love (?)
    Rise again
    (Light upon)
    In pain
    Illusion
You need disasters in the world
    Vote, pain (Empty, fool)
    Out of oblivion
    In sadness
Woe to the vanquished of fortune
Alas, I become a fire moth
    Go back, ah vanity
    And all is vanity
Flame of Nothingness (Woe to the conquered of fortunes)
    Vision (All is vanity)
Revenge (A: I feel the Vanities) (B: I feel the pain, ah the pain)
Ah ____(?) (A: I feel sorrows) (B: And all is vanity in sadness)
Woe to the vanquished of fortune
Alas, I become a fire moth
    Wish you pain (Rerise)
    Empty, fool (Light upon)
    Fire, I feel tragic
    Comedy!
    (Love)(?)
    (Resurrected)
    (Light upon)
    (In pain)
    (Illusion)
    You see the heat
    On stage, dance

People who play the game now will never be able to fully appreciate how epic of a reveal it was to have her confirmed to be the Chrimson Witch of Flames.
As someone from 1.0, where Crimson Witch was THE fire artifact set and when everyone was speculating about who it could be and how it may be Alice, the Pyro Archon etc. and then having Pale Flames hint towards it being Signora. It was just a really epic reveal when she did the Stage 2 transformation.

im trying to decipher the solo by ear and the written lyrics are close but not the words. the first example is the very start of the solo. aevī vītīs fortūnātus translates to The life of a lucky man. the 3 possible options i noticed while hearing this are: A) faeve victis fortunarum (the dregs of fortune's vanquished) or B) aeve victis fortunarum (age of fortunes conquered) and C) vaeve victis fortunarum (woe to the vanquished of fortune). option c is the most likely in my opinion since it can connect with fare ignis tiniam (missing the last word of the second phrase) tell me of the fire (Insert missing word). while favillis isn't there in what i hear, it matches with the english translation with "favillis" meaning the ravenous ashes. in the part where it says Cave refuga aeger vitas, while i still don't understand what she says clearly in the first 2 words, i hear avaritas in the other half instead of aeger vitas.

Tbh, the sheznaya should be a quest that is about all the harbingers, accept it's their closest "Friend" is the holder of quest and also put the whole back story of the harbingers, it's better to put whole story when they're playable, I know it seems somewhat unlikely that's going to happen, but in my pov, the fatuus isn't that bad, I'm just saying the real enemy is the abyss(My opinion)

Although I wish we saw more of her and adore her character, it makes sense that we didn't. It wouldn't be fitting if she had big involvement with us, the traveller, like childe did, considering how most - if not all - other harbingers work behind the scenes and from the shadows. Aside from childe, they are schemers, her especially. They aren't supposed to have a role in the foreground, though I do think it should have been drawn out a lot more

I never saw Signora as a full on evil villain since the beginning, she barely did anything so evil in the actual game whenever we saw her. She gave me anti-villain vibes and her backstory also paints her that way. I was so excited to see her character development down the line as she has the most potential to be redeemed or serve as a great plot device for the overall progression of the game. But her death was so lackluster and holds no meaning whatsoever, there was no buildup, no serious stakes at hand (like I was feeling empty while fighting her as I couldn't understand why we challenged her in the first place) then the ending is senseless as well. Literally nothing changes in the Act from her death, remove the entire duel and the whole act still progresses in the same manner. To make it worse, she ain't even playable and her story never got told.
Seriously Mihoyo, wtf are you thinking throwing away such a great character with an amazing design and backstory?! It's such a waste, I really hope she revives I seriously hate the way she got killed, she didn't deserve it 😭
