Sensational advice. I have a Linden 13400 Power Bank hasnt worked for 2 years. I just watched your video didnt pull it a part. I plugged it into a small blue tooth speaker and turned the blue tooth speaker on. After 5 minutes disconnected power bank then plugged into a fast charger on mains power and magic it started charging. Thanks so much you are the best.

He ment u have to open the power bank case and (using a multimeter) check the voltage of each battery cell individually. And for sure you will find one of them considerably lower than all the others. Then u will need to charge just that lower cell using a standard battery charger (which can be bought at Walmart for example). Then put your power bank back together and then now it supposedly will start working again.
To summarize, it stopped working because one of its battery cells lost balance (i.e. its voltage dropped more than the other cells).

As an Electrical Engineer Student, the fix makes no sense.
Except maybe because the motherboard got disconnected and reconnected, but there are definitely easier ways to do this
I fixed my bank a while ago using this same method. Ever since then I have worried about what made it malfunction in the 1st place? I was searching CZcams for an answer when I saw this video. Commenting to confirm that this method DOES work.
Just fixed a similar-looking battery pack that wouldn't recharge (Blackweb brand, from Walmart) doing the exact same reset as you did, and it's working fine now. Thanks!
I think it has worked for me on two different types - ANKER and POWER - ADD usd power packs. Will post again after testing out. Thank you for taking the time to put this video out there. I hate throwing stuff out if it can be fixed.
I have brand new powerbank. Only used 1 time, then forgotten for 1 year.
Put it on charge now for 2days without it going past 1/4 light indicators.
So I swapped the usb cable for a thicker (2amp) cable ......... SOLVED!
Your suggestion worked for me .

Where did you find this cable?
My problem was that I couldn't get my power brick to turn off after charging. The video thumbnail for this video actually shows a picture of you plugging it in to itself (although you never showed us this in the video). Plugging it from itself back into itself actually reset my power brick and solved my problem. I hope this helps someone else.

Thank You for this simple yet effective solution. It worked perfectly on my 2 obscure model Valore POWERBANKS. I have a theory that because both "died" within 24hrs of each other that I had a faulty Mains to Unit USB charging lead and this contributed towards a short circuit.

Hi I opened up my power bank, the battery had a little bit of juice so since my power bank’s battery is user replaceable I took it out, plugged it in and apparently 0.5-1 volts was coming out of it. Any help will be helpful.

My Ravpower 13400 stopped charging a few months ago and sounds like something is rattling inside it. I'm going to take it apart, but know nothing about modern electronics. Even if I find what's rattling, I probably won't understand how to fix it.

I have a soundlogic xt. I charged it once, never needed it & forgot all about it. My phone battery is iffy so I thought I should charge it for backup & when I plug in the power bank 4 lights flash then nothing. . I tried a trick I use for tool batteries where I use a 9 volt battery & make a connection where the battery wires connect to the terminal board + to + & - to - with 2 pieces of wire & it is now working.again.
So you just add a 9 volt battery to where the terminals connect?
Sometimes there is a reset hole, that fundamentally does the same thing, so check for that first and use a pin or pin tool like many phones and devices come with to depress the micro disconnect button.

What does it mean if my portable charging bank only works when I plug it into the wall? All the lights are on when I plug it into the wall but as soon as I unplug it all the lights turn off and I cant use it.
It means that's there's a short circuit in the mobile charger.

Yes. The style of battery is 18650. Search for 18650 battery on Amazon or pretty much anywhere and you'll find plenty.

I own a syska 10k mAh power bank but off late I am experiencing that I have to keep the charging cable pushed hard to the power bank charging slot to get it charged. Once I remove the pressure on the connector that is connected to the power bank charger it stops. Please advise what needs to be done here..? I have tried cleaning the power bank charging socket inside but in vain :-(

Same exact thing happened to me. 2 years ago I bought a cheap 3000mAH power bank in a pinch for $20. Recently I found it and didn't want to throw it away.
I tried every micro-USB cable I had and finally a high end cable that came with my Nvidia Shield along with a fast charger did the trick. It charged lights 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 then 2 > 3 > 4 until it was all solid.
Just try different types of cables and chargers until one works.

So my Hama powerbank used to charge with all 4 blue LEDs blinking... now only 2out of 4 are blinking when charging... Looking suspicious...
UPDATE: All good.. it was just too empty and it took a lot of time for the second led to stabilize and third to start blinking and then forth... I guess I forgot how it looks when it charges lol
