That’s a solid school of dhuies you found, that big one was a real fatty chocking on a cobbler and still wanted to eat your bait. Love these types of videos❤
Mate, great explanation on the soundings, really enjoyed it. We use to call the air bladder "Poor mans bacon", but it was the best bit when i was wet lining. Great channel. Cheers from Busso
@@vaughnschultz1189 cheers legend! First time I’ve heard that terminology. Quite fitting. I’ll do up a video soon on how I cook it. I’m convinced it’s hard to tell pork crackle apart from air bladder.

One of the most informative fishing videos I’ve ever seen for Perth metro. Thanks a whole heap for sharing. I’ve not yet gone further than the FFB stray-lining for Snapper out of Rocko. Now I have a much better idea about what to do to give it a go. Cheers. 👍🎣

Cracking vid Spence. I reckon you are spot on about finding more isolated ground away from prominent features......I can see the odd Cobbler tail being tested for bait!
Good question and it’s a matter of debate. You must have a release weight on board. However if I had to use one to get the fish down, then I would generally keep it. Generally venting is good practice in my own experience and opinion. The fish then can swim down on its own without assistance. The Practice of forcing the fish down, unsure on its ability to survive after doing so is not good. Again, this is my opinion. Each to their own 👍
Hi mate, did you use to get good readings at speed with ya old HDS 7? That’s the unit I run with the 3-1 trany. I’m getting average readings at speed I’m going to lower it a bit more I think.
Certainly did, 35knts no issues. Get rid of the 3-1 transducer and get a 1kw unit and you won’t look back. Those 3-1 transducers aren’t suitable for deeper water. Hit us up on socials if you need further advice 🤙
Was that last Sat the 13th? Easterly was up abit all morning. Is your boat a Seafarer Vagabond 6.2m? I agree to fish not so obvious ground on Navionics. I do believe though once a fish is caught from a lump/area , new fish will move in. So you never know out there, the major structures could still have a slob that just moved in there. Nice work Spence, great video 🤘
@@WAFISHING we went out Saturday and i dropped a big fish. Ended up with a big King George a couple snapper and a humongous cuttlefish that i have processed into bulk bottom meat baits for the rest of the year 👌
Hey bro any chance you take people fishing? I'm happy to pay have been trying to get the missus onto a dhu gone out on multiple different boats and have not been successful yet i have gotten my 93cm 14kg dhu landbased down in albany and she's been frothing for a dhu ever since
A high speed fairing block professionally made and installed would definetely get you a much better reading at speed cause the 295 is very clearly dropping out at the start of the video. Well placed transducer should read the same at 5 knots through to WOT. Sick video mate keep it up.
Sorry mate, disagree. I can do 40+knots clear as a whistle. Even out to 200-300m at these speeds. It’s rough and at 20knts it’s getting air off the seas. Video doesn’t do it justice.
I have a high speed fairing block, 1150, sat compass and it reads perfectly no matter the swell. Never had my sounder drop out like that unless the whole boat is out of the water.
@mellowfellowful yes, and boat was getting air. As I mentioned. Still better reads than a fairing block. I talk from experience. But hey, good luck for having the cash 💰
@@leemcdonald-o1f that is the idea, but these fish were fit and strong and able to be returned no issues. If they were not, they would have been put on ice.
@AaronWilliams-sf1vf Estimated post- release mortality rates for pink snapper, dhufish and baldchin groper are 25 per cent, 50 per cent and 90 per cent respectively, maybe the stocks wouldn't be the state they're in if we just settled for a feed instead of chasing trophy fish, and I'm pretty sure up sizing is illegal now so putting it in a CZcams vid isn't a good look either.

Working on more videos throughout the Demersal ban to keep you entertained sitting at home.
One thing i have found is lifting my scroll speed when travelling at speed, enhancing the read
Everyone has their own preferences.
For me however, it doesn’t add any extra details so I don’t bother with scroll speeds. Just elongates the pings.
I have found sea weed in a couple of Dhues gut before, so they must do a few vego snacks.

I thought up-sizing wasn't a sustainable method hence the minimum size limit changed. Just saying.
