Kirby is literally meant for beginners. I mained Kirby when I first started playing back in the melee days, Olimar in Brawl, and Then i picked up Pacman and Robin in Smash 4 and Ultimate. Do I miss that op ass jump yes, but I like the kits of other characters more now. Joker and Inkling are way fun to play too.
Its also incredibly easy to do, as opposed to all this side b down b air dodge stuff needed to "prove" just flying up as Kirby is mediocre

In fairness, I think the reason for it was to avoid the very situation he depicted with Sonic using him as a bounce pad.
Jump power isn't just how high you can go, it's also the control you have as well. How far, directional control, stall ability, juke ability, agility etc

@@lewboissbu Stone is hard to react to if used properly. It's best used as a poor man's counter or as an offensive tool at very close range and minimal height. I'll admit kirby's air speed and jump height aren't good though, but rock is definitely an under utilized move with a lot of potential that most people don't know about.

Kirby’s jumps are considered good because he can control where he wants to be vertically by mixing up his jumps and fast falls… it can be challenging to figure out what kinda landing / aerial options he’s going for and he can shark platforms with aerials really well. It’s not really about how far he can go vertically.

For me it's Kirby's horizontal recovery. Just seems like if you didn't get him off the stage he'll make it back but it's so slow you sometimes forget he's not respawning and the next thing you know it's raining rocks.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but the Koopalings can do the same thing as the Links if you hold onto a mechakoopa like a bomb. Gets them MUCH higher that way

It's not the height of the jumps that makes them OP, it's that you get five of them. That allows you to change directions on the fly and allows for a really good edge guarding game. Overall I think most characters would choose multiple shorter jumps over one big jump
Not really actually. A single, faster jumps allows to go where you want to much faster, while multiple jumps take much more time, which can undermine their added versatility

Mario having a quick up b that is very fast to travel and amazing air speed means he gets where he can use it quicker and has a good hitbox go cover himself.
A linear recovery doesn't mean anything if is hard to intercept anyways (Lucina is also linear but edgeguarding her is insanely hard)
@@Mattroid99 It also is dependant on rucking hitboxes. Yes, Kirby has the worst aerial momentum, but his many jumps allow a mixup during recovery. Yes, his Up Special sucks, but that is the last part of his recovery.

I don't see the issue of depending from hitboxes to protect yourself. Besides vs opponents with counters (And even there there is the timing mixups) is a net positive everywhere since you have to be way more aware in how to challenge it

I’m pretty sure Robin is able to get a slightly higher result using an empty Elwind (up b)
Robin’s up-b still gives a small boost even if depleted. You can act out of it, and even use up-b again if the Elwind tome is recharged.
So it may be possible to get a higher result with a process similar to:
Grounded jump
Empty Elwind (Up-B)
Double jump
Recharged Elwind
(You’ll want Elwind to recharge at some point between the empty use, and the double jump)
It’s just like you said in the training stage video. “Get rid of all your Pikmin and Olimar just flies.”
It’s not so much the height but the amount of time you can stay afloat
It's the floatiness x multijump combo that lets him sit in the air for a month and recover with great control from any angle that's so powerful

Kirby isn’t praised for jumping high, he is usually praised for the amount of control you have since he is so “floaty” (just like Jigglypuff)
Finally someone gets it. It's also his recovery when he is hit to the side is very good because he can cover a lot of ground without falling very far.
Do competitive scenes praise Kirby for anything? The lad has a fence of pain and it seems like even that's not enough for people to take him seriously.

The Koopalings can also jump to cancel Side B, effectively giving them a third jump. Combined with holding a Mechakoopa and timing the explosion in the air similar to the Links bombs, I bet they’d reach the top platform for sure.

I just realized that when a character made it below Kirby's platform, Kirby loses the copy ability. If above, Kirby does not. Neat touch.

@@iman5147 You could argue that it Balances the Playing field, but you could also argue the exact opposite since The amount that some characters can recover depends on their Percent, like Lucario, but he can't utilize any of his potential because he starts at 0%. Now I'm not saying that everyone should start at whatever percent is most convenient for them, but I am saying that there should be a set percent that isn't 0, especially because, realistically, a character would never be knocked off the stage at 0%. I'd say 50% or maybe even 90% (For half Lucario Aura) would make more sense than 0%. And before you say it, yes, this is a video just used to show how Average Kirby is, but I don't see anything wrong with adding a starting Percentage of 50% or 90%.

Not quite, steve has a block limit based on what they've mined. So Steve will have a build limit based on what's allowed.
Steve has a limit of 8 blocks
The blocks have a height limit, too.
The height limit in Minecraft is 256 but you can go higher with fireworks and eleytra therefore steve is god.

It was never the height that was incredible, it was the number of jumps he can do
Each jump allows for adjustments, which is incredibly useful in a platform fighter
Kirby's jump height is REALLY bad though, so there's very little you can do with each jump. His air game is shockingly bad actually.
