    "Any Pride Daemon you'd met would just walk away, shaking its head and laughing uncontrollably."
    Since 'Pride' in elven is 'Solas' it feels like he's roasting her even more than she realizes.

      It's 10-20 minutes of waiting n don't pause it resets the timer I think. If you have a pc you can mod it to be more common or use a cheat engine. Otherwise yeah, just chill n wait

      It's really hard to like her in general tbh...

      @@lov_eli Well, she is extremely smart and charming and quite acute. With a great eye for fashion and elegance.
      She thinks she is always right and she is shrewed and definitly arrogant and a bit of a snob, but to her defence, she does not mistreat or shows contempt towards the Inquisitor regarding their past if they were a Carta Dwarf or a Vashoth mercenary (it's the choices they make that define that, particularly the ones about templars and mages). Just like she is not against the Inquisitor's relationship with Dorian or Iron Bull on a matter of principle like some other people seem to be.
      Plus, she is cold (though i think that stems from the fact that she is very involved with Orlesian politcs, where coldness and ruthlessness are essential) but she approves when you save everyone at Haven and she often frets on the Inquisitor when they get hurt or could possibly face dangers.
      Also, she genuinly loved her lover Bastien and Cole felt her guilt and compassion about the mages who were killed during the war.
      I'm not saying she's a saint, because she is not by a mile, but she hides very much under her sharp wit and poker face.
      And also, her opinion on magic and mages goes against my choises (I often ally with the rebel mages and the grey warden), but they are very interesting.
      Let's remember, she is the second Circle mage we had in a party after Wynne who loves her life in the Circle: after all, from what we know of her, Vivienne was four or five when she entered the Circle, she never had another place to call home while growing up. But differently from Wynne, Vivienne sees the Circle as a way for her to get the power and control she wants.
      After all, she met empress Celene, her lover Bastien and all of the other nobles thanks to the fact that she was a Circle mage (if not, she would have been a merchant like her parents and would have never had access to the court) and thanks to those connections she gained many freedoms and positions and so she wasn't constantly cooped up like other mages were.
      For her, the Circle it is not a prison, but a tool.
      She knows that if she adapts to its rules, like she adapted to those of Orlais, she will get the chance to use them to her advantage.
      That is why for her people like Anders or Morrigan and Solas are a bunch of dimwits: because, instead of adapting and finding a way to rise up among the ranks of the higher classes like she does, they cling to a freedom that, to her, forces them to live a shameful life in hiding, always paranoid and with an access to magic that could hurt them and the people around them. And Anders blowing up the Chantry was the confermation she needed.
      Finally, regarding the templars: Vivienne approves greatly when the Inquisitor allies with them, but she does not support them like Cassandra does. Vivienne approves because of their role of keeping the dangers of magic in check and in so doing, protect those mages who are too young, too emotional or simply still to unexperienced from hurting themselves.
      If it was someone else to have that role, she would want their presence all the same. She does not care WHO has that role, as long as the role is fullfilled.
      And also, she said to Bull that "a leash can be pulled from different directions" and from what she does when she become Grand Enchanter or the Divine, it's safe to say that to her templars are another tool she can use to make her ambitions a reality, but to keep other mages safe too

    Vivienne is making such a fool of herself here. She acts superior to promote her idea that the circle is better, without realising she's basically talking to an immortal elvhen "god" that way surpasses her abilities, so when she acts superior just to prove her point the circle is better... it makes her look so ignorant.

    • @kjk607
      @kjk607 Před 15 dny +2

      Except that Immortal God fails over and over again to prove that she's wrong. He only shares that he dislikes the cons of her methods while offering no viable answer himself. The two agree on the most important parts of this discussion. They just disagree on the solution.

      @@-t96 As Mythal says, "somethings are unavoidable and history needs a nudge". He's an ancient elven god that has faults. He just understands power, law, and order. I think Vivien would benefit to listen to him on magic, law and order. Personally I think she's too arrogant to say she's wrong with wanting to control the mages because we all saw that disaster when they finally broke free

    Am I overthinking or does Vivienne unknowingly saw hints of Solas being more than just talented elf mage?...like she mentioned she saw solas coat tail lit on fire, telling solas he sounds like a pride demon, how she notice solas catches up to orlesian politics so quickly given he is an apostate. Tho I love the fact they seem to found a common ground at the endnof the video lol!

      Right! I really like Viv and was surprised (after finishing the game for the first time) that a lot of people didnt like her. I do get it tho but I appreciate what she brings to the table and the advice she gives bc its something that I can, in a way, value and maybe learn irl like keeping up with appearances esp for someone who is in power.

    fun fact: Solas means pride in Elvhen. which means... when he says a pride demon would walk away shaking its head laughing...hes speaking from experience. i think he was a spirit of wisdom (which is also a demon of pride depending on their situation) before he was given form by mythal

    • @safsren
      @safsren Před 8 měsíci +12

      Solas is not a spirit, he is an elf. One of the Evanuris, specifically Fen'Harel the Dread Wolf. Not the same way as Mythal is Flemeth because Solas is literally from the days of Arlathan. In Trespasser he compares "Fen'Harel" to the title of Inquisitor. He has lain in Uthenera since he raised the veil and separated Thedas from the Fade

    • @_dragonflies_
      @_dragonflies_ Před 8 měsíci +10

      @@safsren Solas being a spirit of Wisdom before is a very popular theory. This theory does not contradict in any way Solas being Fen Harel, or his Arlathan origins btw.
      There's a few things which suggest that he once was a Spirit, and that Mythal gave him the body of an elf.
      First, his name. Pride is the twisted form of Wisdom in the world of spirits.
      Then these excerpts from Cole's Dialogue:
      "He did not want a body, but she asked him to come. He left a scar when he burned her off his face", and "Bare-faced but free, frolicking, fighting, fierce. He wants to give Wisdom, not orders."
      It was also said that Solas knows Wisdom like no man or Spirit does.
      There are a few more points, but I don't remember all of them, so if you're interested look it up yourself

    • @yerezy
      @yerezy Před 6 měsíci +7

      @@_dragonflies_the problem with the Solas spirit theory is that Solas himself debunks this if you played Trespasser and select a dialogue that relates with Mythal. If I remember correctly he states Fen’Harel is a title, unlike Mythal who is a being.
