Samoa's Incredible Giant Clams | Savaia Giant Clam Sanctuary

Where can you find some of the largest Giant Clams in the world? Right in Samoa at the Giant Clam Sanctuary. The amazing Giant Clam Sanctuary is located within a village marine protected area on Upolu's South Coast.
For our last full day in Samoa, we wanted to snorkel and see the bottom-dwelling behemoths, the Giant Clams. These clams can weigh up to 500 pounds and be more than 4 feet long. That's incredible. It was so cool to be so close to them and to see so many of them. Thousands of smaller clams were also beautiful. The brilliant blues, greens, and other colors seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. It was spectacular. We were also really excited to see a hawksbill turtle for the first time. They are beautiful sea turtles native to beautiful Samoa. It was an experience we will always remember.
That evening, we ate at the Island Grill Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Apia. They had delicious shakes, food, and desserts. Their meat was especially delicious. It was a great meal.
