Somebody please give this man an award the filming of these videos are absolutely brilliant the way they transcend you to places of extraordinary beauty and tranquility is simply amazing you have truly captured what it means to be a fly fisherman completely immersed by the sounds and beauty of nature I applaud you for all your hard work please keep making these masterpieces and always carpe diem
Watched early this cool morning, having coffee and thinking about upcoming New York and Pennsylvania Steelhead and King Salmon fishing trips in November...I felt like I was right there on the stream and completely relaxed...best video production and edit on the internet regarding fly fishing! This is shared therapy, religion, and treasure.
Really beautiful your new video. It's nice to see that you also fish with the greatest carbon fiber fly rods you can buy. A Winston is always a treat and something very special. Best regards from Germany
Flyfishing......It is just so much more than just catching fish.....as per usual, Carpe Diem videos transport me into my nirvana...little things...the angler wetting his hands before touching the fish, images of the trout before the fly is presented, minimum but real dialogue, etc etc. Well done.
Hi! first of all thanks for make art! this is absolut quality fly fishing videos, the feeling that you transmit is incomparable. For me this is the best channel of fly fishing videos on youtube! and please! dont stop making videos like these! Greetings and thanks again for your art!!
This has to be the best photography and video footage of fly fishing on you tube; very professionally done and a pleasure to watch, though doesn't do much for my lockdown cabin fever aha! But do like the Swedish tradition? of the wooden cup and drink, I could go with that.
It is so wonderful how your videos show the enjoyment of being in the surroundings and taking in the beauty of the moment. Since I have retired, fly fishing offers just that. Thank you for showing that aspect so well.
It’s late afternoon here & it has been a long day. So I get myself horizontal & grab my iPad to see what’s new & interesting on my CZcams subscriptions. And I’m most pleasantly surprised by your new upload. Such a treat every time. And what a sublime view from start to finish. I’ll be out by a local river this Thursday to ‘take it all in’. Time to get a much needed nap & hopefully dream of fishing.....very best regards always. 😊
Jag har sett de flesta av dina filmer, jag blir lika glad varje gång, inte bara av kvaliteten på fisket och fotot men av musiken, den gör det så magiskt stämningsfullt. Grattis
Subtle, respectful, and the finest photographic qualities anywhere on the web. Another great production, that to me, has become your standard, as I praise each and every one of them for their technical brilliance and compositional excellence. Without question, you are an artist of immense talent and one so gracious as to share his work freely. Your work is so perfect in its visuals and its timing, and I am left with a question that has always bothered me when I look at my less than adequate efforts and yours that are so fine - How much of your film on average, expressed in minutes, is typically edited out to bring the final piece to fruition? Alright, two questions - Do you use a script or do you just piece the video/story together as you edit? As to the fishing, loving it. Especially knowing he is using a Winston rod - my favorite. You guys do get into some fine fishing there in the far north. The rivers were I live do not typically hold large resident fish, as the large fish that do appear are anadromous and only passing through to the spawning grounds. And these fish are seriously "locked-jawed", and very hard to catch though a few are caught each year.
Thanks. Really appreciate your kind words :) And I'm happy to hear you are taking interest in my filming "style". Nowadays I tend to use more of the film I bring home. I sort of know what to film and what not to film. Let's say I use half of the footage or more. When I started filming I typically used ten percent of the material. We don't do much scripting except for some coffee or walking scenes, and then it's about telling the person where to sit or walk etc. Sometimes I also tell the fisherman where to stand during the fishing in order to get the right angle. And sometimes I give small hints and comments during the filming to get some action or reaction. When I'm filming I'm thinking of the end result and compose the film as I go along with the shooting. Take care. Cheers
@@CarpeDiemFlyfishing When I say style, I mean that your videos are clean - no extraneous film that doesn't fit the flow or help tell your tale. Yes, you pan the area at times, yet it all seems purposeful and not added as filler. Yes, you may take a moment to film an insect's husk, still attached to the plant's stem, but it fits the tale you are telling - the mayflies and such are emerging, time to take up the rod! Even the coffee breaks, where the fisherman might contemplate his next move or reminisce about the morning's effort, they tie in well with your tale. And the photographing itself, choice of subject, lens, filter, whatever is a part of your quiver, maximizing the effect as you capture the scene, the mood. And the all important editing, where you tie the pieces tightly together masterfully. You are my favorite CZcams film maker by far. You entertain and inspire; I watch in awe at times, and hopefully learn something of your craft. But no loss if not, for I have certainly been entertained. The thanks is mine to give.
Carpe Diem - that’s exactly what any of your videos is telling me: seize the day, Werner! Seize the moment of peacefulness and tranquility, think of what matters and come back to the basics: to be in awe of creation and to be thankful.; to catch a fish flyfishing is a bonus.
With out going too far adrift I perceived this to be a Winston rod advertisement. Anyway I bought one 2 yrs. ago, B3X 4 for 4w. Used 2x Boulder Creek and South Platte at Deckers. Very accurate.
