I had so many "What? Really?!" *pause the video* moments, but I love that. I don't click on videos like this to hear my list. I came here to hear yours. So keep doing what you do, as we love it! It's YOUR opinion!
Who would have ever believed the element that is Paul's voice would one day be the downfall of their two most recent albums. I feel it's almost tragic because Paul gave us many great vocal moments.
Ace's Kiss era solo album outsold all the other solo albums. As for being a terribly CZcamsr it pays to not be too polished and believe it or not making mistakes is good business on this site.
This is definitely an interesting video! Major props to you for including Mark St John's solo stuff, I was super worried those would be forgotten here, and while your opinions on his stuff differ a bit from mine (absolutely love Mark's solo stuff to death lol), it's still nice to see it get some attention! I also learned some new stuff from this, especially with Shake The Faith.
Great job as usual, Sean! I've watched every one of your KISS videos, and you never disappoint! The fun part about these type of videos is everyone will have their own opinion. I appreciate hearing yours and the analysis and historical perspective you provide. Keep up the great work! Now, let's think of more KISS videos for you to do! How about a most underrated KISS list? I'm a big fan of Sure Know Something - hope that makes the cut!
Good Job on this ranking and Thanks for including many albums I never new existed, many from Bruce Klickitat that I never had heard of before, So keep up the Great Job on your CZcams Channel Partner.
One of my favorite KISS CZcams channels, great delivery and really deep knowledge on the band. Those are friends of mine posing with Vinnie, those guys were masters of the meet and greet but waaay better. Nailed the One For All situation here.
Nice video. You explain your choices well. I found out about some albums that I never heard of. I did notice that you did not include the live albums, though.
I’m a very big kiss fan and I want to say I enjoyed this video a lot. Thank you for sharing your opinions, and I mostly agree with you. I also learned a lot!!
Just rewatched this vid. Sean, you made some great recommendations. Finally got around to listening to Union's The Blue Room. That album kicks ass, just as you said.
I''ve been a CZcamsr on and off for over 10 years. I think you do incredible work. I don't always agree with your selections (The Elder), but you clearly put a lot of thought into your videos. I've watched all your KISS vids. If you ever wanna chat KISS.. I'm your huckleberry.
Man, I love your passion for the band. I don't agree with many of your choices but your reasons do make sense for your own taste and I totally respect that. We could have hour long discussions about my own ranking. I love this video cause i now have plenty of albums to listen too because I haven't listen ton most of the side projects except for a few.
You're an awesome Utuber Sean, and I hope you just keep doing what you're doing. As for the list, Rock and Roll Over was my 1st KISS album, which I got the same week it came out, at the age of 14 (total age revealed) lol. You exposed me to material I didn't know was even out there. My question, did I miss the 2 live albums, or did you mention they were being withheld? Rock and Roll Over my absolute favorite, still in my DNA, goosebumps still at the age of 58 every time I hear it. Great job, as always, and thank you for taking the time to put this massive list together!!!!
great list and rankings, you articulated well on what you liked and disliked about each, I owned a little more than half of these and can totally agree with you on those. Nice work, thanks
I didn't even know several of the solo project albums you included existed. Now I do and have something to look forward to listening to. While my rankings of the albums I do know would have differed quite a lot, I enjoyed hearing your reasoning. I liked your last 3 choices but would have put the first 3 much higher. To each his own...
Respect to you man!! Defiantly some controversial opinions but I love that for you! The one album I would rank so much higher on my list is def space invader, one of my favs of Ace!! I was so happy when you had trouble walkin so high. Such a kick ass album!
I'll just put this out there; many years ago before I read some reviews and learned I was *supposed* to think it sucked; I rather liked most of the songs on 'The Elder'. Also had some of the best guitar tones Kiss ever recorded.
I love the Elder, but I also love Spinal Tapp. I think Gene Simmons provided the best review for it. "As a Kiss album, I give it a zero, as a bad Genesis album, I give it a four."
You take 100 KISS maniacs and let them make their own ranking. You'll see 100 different lists!! That's what makes KISS unique, they got so many good stuff to choose. By the way, I really like WOW and Vinnies' stuff.
Very cool list and appreciate your takes on them. I haven't heard allot of the related albums u mention (but I may pick a few up after hearing this) My top 3 is : 1: creatures of the night 2: lick it up 3: revenge
I just finished watching and what I realize is all the generations that KISS has influenced and I believe that shows in the ranking. HTH is my top pick but I grew up in the 70's. You have the most thorough ranking I've ever seen and because of that I have several albums I am now on the hunt for. Thanks again, New follower
Well done! As a casual/nostalgic fan I was mostly clueless about most of the solo stuff and other bands/projects. Now I have some serious checking out to do. My list would have the first three albums higher, and I disagree with the consensus of putting Destroyer at the top. It might come down to how important sound/production is to the listener, compared to songwriting and feel. Since I am mostly oblivious to sound quality, most days I put Hotter than Hell at the top, followed by Rock and Roll Over and Ace's first solo album. And so I'm off to looking the Eric Singer Project stuff up. Thanks!
Absolutely love where you’ve got Monster. One of their best . They sounded like they had a chip on their shoulder and finally did something about it. Great songs, I like the production, adds to the tone of the music. Gene sounds like he finally gives a hoot again.
Cool list. Destroyer was the first album I ever bought, I was in 5th grade and totally into comic books at the time which is the sole reason I chose it. I feel fortunate that I didn't pick a dud. It was a great introduction to music for a kid on account of all the different styles presented, and Ezrin's musical influence and production. Destroyer set me up nicely for a lifetime of open minded music fandom.
No 1 wasnt a suprise. Overall good list. And thanks for Union... as a Kiss fan i must be ashamed to confess that I never heard of it. Definetely gonna check it out!!. Keep up the good work!!!
As expected, we disagree quite a bit but I appreciate someone willing to take the time to rank all of these. I think a big element of how several albums are usually ranked is when they came along in someone's life and even what the circumstances were in which the album was released. When Unmasked was released, I was 10. Union had better songs but there's no way I'd rank Union higher than a KISS album I'd spent the previous twenty years with. Trouble Walking has better songs than Frehley's Comet but the build up in my circle at the time to Ace finally releasing a solo album was huge. Demos had floated around and he did some live shows but when that album was released, we couldn't stop listening to it. It could've been an album of Ace playing the harp instead of the guitar. Didn't matter. He was finally "back". I tend to ramble.
I have NOT listened to all of these albums...YET. But thanx to YOU I will now start my journey of listening to those that I have yet to have listened to as well as go back & relisten to a few that I had not given enough due time in listening to & trying to appreciate more so.🤙⚡️⚡️
Great job ranking… I have been a huge Kiss fan since middle school in ‘76…, although I agree with most, but I rank: Rock and Roll Over Dressed to Kill Love Gun Hotter than Hell Destroyer Kiss Paul Stanley (solo album) Gene Simmons (solo album) Dynasty Awesome job doing this!
Done! You really need to send this video over to Bruce. You are insane Sean! But, I will give some of these Bruce offerings out because you like them so much and you're opinion is valid because you have listened to them! HA!
Sean, unfortunately I have not listened to many of the albums you ranked. I don't have an opinion one way or the other for that reason. But I have to say, although I would put some albums higher or lower, you did one hell of a job. Nice work!!
I had a good laugh on pick 49 ! I was not surprised from this selection after having seen your review on the Elder album ! My other comment on a more serious note - Carnival of Souls in the top 10 ... hmmm. To me Kiss Alive belongs in that top 10.
RANKING KISS MEMBERS 1-4 Gene, Paul, Peter and Ace - I cannot rank the original four as each brought something to the group. The time that they were four equals is unmatched in KISSTORY. 5. Bruce Kulick - I love Ace's style with the guitar but Bruce was the best guitar player the band ever had. 6. Eric Singer - I know that I have committed a sin by placing him above Eric Carr but listen to his work on Carnival of Souls if you question his talent. 7. Eric Carr - Heavier drummer who fit perfectly with the Creatures of the Night era - much different than the jazz influenced style of Peter Criss. 8. Vinnie Vincent - The shredder - Heavy KISS songs should be reserved for Carr and Vincent. 9. Tommy Thayer - The fake ACE is greatly criticized but the man knows virtually every song in the KISS catalogue and can credibly reproduce the sound. My big criticism - ACE, Bruce, and Vinnie had a style - Thayer either has none or is not allowed to have one. 10. Mark St. John - Being only on one KISS album hurts his ranking - Was he the first Tommy in the group?
Least fave KISS songs 1. Beth 2. Baby Driver 3. Tomorrow and Tonight 4. And on the 8th Day 5. Burn Bitch burn 6. Murder in High heels 7. Read my Body 8. Take it off 9. God gave Rock n Roll to you 10. Uh all night (and the entire Asylum album)
Yes! Trouble Walkin!!! Love it!! Origins Volume 1 changed life- NO Apologies needed for ranking it so high! Paul's Live to win is his last hurrah with his voice! My mom's fave solo album is Paul's!
My favorite KISS albums are: KISS(1974) Destroyer(1976) Rock And Roll Over(1976) Love Gun(1977) Creatures Of The Night(1982) Lick It Up(1983) Animalize(1984)
PETER - Cat # 1 was his best solo album but I am one of the few who love many of the tracks on One For All - they are either hit or miss for me but his soulful and uneven singing reaches me. He did have the worst solo album. GENE - Asshole was uneven - loved Dog and Black Tongue - but the rest leaves me wanting something else. I do like his solo album much more than you - half of the album is great work. PAUL - Did not love Live To Win immediately but it has grown on me. His solo effort is right below Gene in my mind due to some of his lighter stuff on the album. Has some great tunes though. ACE - You did a great job ranking his albums - I do like Space Invader much more than you do. His solo album was the best. Surprise - the guy who did the least amount of singing had the best solo effort.
FANTASTIC EFFORT - I have listened to most of the albums on the list - Punk Tommy and Early Bruce are the exceptions. I have been working on my own every KISS song and album list with related recordings as well as tribute albums for several years. My problem - I keep changing my mind as I review what I have done.
When I saw this rating I thought 1st it was going to cover LIVE albums and albums and even the special add on I never would have thought of this this caught be by surprise I thought you were going to add the Box set / Alive and 2/3/4 Symphony i never would have thought this very informative of groups of which they were in and never heard of before If I were to do a list it would cover the CD albums and Alive and Boxset with songs .
33:11 nah dude you're doing great -- love the videos -- how about a "KISS book" video? I own a copy of the very first book ever written about them, the Robert Duncan one
Wow... my list would be drastically different. I'm a lot older than you so the earlier albums mean more to me. But, this is your list and not mine and that's what make these fun.
Well your age and first kiss concert was sonic boom explains alot . I lo e Vinnie Vincent's playing ! To me he was the best guitarist they ever had ,of course Ace is ThE right guitar player for the band! The one you missed ,a d I knew you would is EZO ,first album produced y Gene and has Tommy Thayer as Co writer on several songs! It came out in1987 and was the Japanese KISS ,make up and everything ! It's probably one of my all time favorite albums, period . You should definitely check it out . Too much Bruce in the list ,I think he's a boring guitar player, very nice every time I met him . The top 3 is as close as we would come to agreeing on anything. I always enjoy hearing what other people think, good job !
I think you have Sonic Boom and especially Monster both ranked way too high (I despise those two albums), but I do appreciate the fact that you took the time to put this all together.
This was really cool. Really enjoyed it, although I disagree with a lot of your choices, but hey it's your opinion and totally respect that. I guess the age difference makes all the difference...hahaha
You forgot ONE album...lol. Vinnie Vincent’s “Speedball Jam”, which probably would have taken residence on the bottom of your list. :) Overall, a great ranking and great episode.
Dude, major respect love your list overall could have went without all the add-ons but the live to win placement above the original Kiss album and various others even his soul station I know it comes down to Personal Taste but definitely not the majority opinion here
That was incredible. Adding in the other stuff was a cool and unique spin. I love kiss and collect their albums. But Sabbath is my biggest addiction/collection, and I include a decent sized family tree in that.
Very interesting and fun!!! I have to admit, i haven't heard some of the stuff from Bruce except BK3 and the Union Stuff wich i like alot, I only know Out Of Control from Peter i was never interested to listen to his other stuff. Never liked Vinnie Vincent Invasion, i have to admit also, been a KISS fan for 41 years now and i'm in the gang that loves Unmasked and Dynasty, i was introduced to the band and those albums were the ones i heard first with the Ace Frehley solo so they have a special place in my heart. My top 5 are : 5 - Revenge 4- Creatures Of The Night 3- KISS 2- Rock And Roll Over 1- Dressed To Kill. My favorite Ace album's solo career as always been Trouble Walkin', i LOVE this album.
Enjoyed the list. Not there with you on the Criss albums being anything but bad but totally agree on Live to Win and Paul's first solo. I listen to both often.
Cool idea! Of course most of the Kiss albums are on top of my list but WOW is one of my alltime faves and it is 3 or 4 of all this albums. Other than that I love the three Ace releases Trouble walkin', Spaceman and Second sighting and they are between 15 and 20. Live to win by Paul is amazing. If we include Gene produced albums the Keel lp The right to rock is a clear top 10 for me. The best real Kiss albums: Kiss, Asylum, Creatures of the night, The elder, Hotter than hell. There is only one cd I hate and it is called Psycho circus. What a pile of crap. Well done video!
I have a hard time putting any album above KISS albums. I agree with Destroyer being number one but I have their debut album as a close number two. I grew up with the seventies albums so there is an age bias here. You have The Elder way too low but love you showed respect for Crazy Nights and Monster. I also agree that Asylum is a very underrated album. I could go on and on here.
Hey!! My first 2 Kiss albums was Kiss 1974 and Destroyer 1976. I got this 2 on Cassett tapes 1976. If i have to pick 5 kiss studio albums. This is my list 1 - Kiss 2 - Destroyer 3 - Love Gun 4 - Dynasty 5 - Creatures Of The Night
hey! while i don't agree with some of your choices, i will defend your way of defending them, take my word. that was cool! lots of stuff i've never heard or cared for. but i will give a listen to Bruce's BK3- he's a perfect guitar player and i'm sure gene and paul cry secretly hiding their hearts every day because they 'had' to let him go. i like the way you placed Ace's stuff. he's truly my childhood god, and his 1978 Kiss solo Lp is at times heavy and druggy, a proto-stoner rock masterpiece. there's a place in Mexico called the Kiss Lounge, it's near a highway that connects Mexico City to another state. the Kiss Lounge is like a huge kiss museum/basement, full of all the stuff i wanted to own when i was a kid in 1980 and discovered them (and fell in love withc rocknoll forever). of course, it's also a bar with cover bands, so it's nice to visit (don't know if it's still open after the pandemic). the owner is someone that loved kiss since the 70s and had the chance to meet them through his wealthy dad or something; he became friends with Simmons and they both had the idea for this one of a kind place. i saw ESP there about 13 years ago and even interviewed Bruce and Eric and the rest for Rolling Stone magazine (mexican chapter). Bruce is the most down to earth rock star i've ever met (including 'down and dirty' thrash metal bands). cool guy, funny and witty and friendly. he gaveme two of his solo cds and even invited me over to his place if i ever visited California again! the others were, well, a bit stuck up. so there!
"Kiss" is a matter of one's preferences. First their album I heard was "Lick It Up", which still is No1 for me. I was 13 and I instantly liked it. It was in 1985. I thought: "Wow, heavy". I didn't expect Kiss played Heavy Metal. Least favorite songs: "Dance all over your face" and "On the 8-th day". I love Vinnie's solos, Eric Carr's drumming, singing of both: Paul and Gene (Gene's a little bit more). I also think, that Eric influenced Kiss a lot and shifted them into heavier music than they did before. Shortly after "Lick It Up" I listened to "Alive" and "Alive II". I didn't like the production (especially on Alive), but the vibe and the music was amazing. I liked it too, but was surprised how different was Kiss's music prior to "Lick it up". All other stuff of Kiss isn't interesting to me. I have to admit, that this band was a huge event in showbusinnes and hard to imagine, how many bands they influenced, how many trends set, etc., etc. I lisntened (here, on mighty CZcams) with interest the audio book of Paul Stanley "Face the Music: A Life Exposed". Very interesting. Your reviews are also interesting, thank you for your work!
I have a hard time ranking them against studio albums; feels like a whole different thing to me and the video would probably have doubled in length due to how many there are.
I'm still not used to Paul being the weak link. I enjoy your videos, btw.
@@SeanBlumenshine THANK-You! Thanks for watching!
The best always fall the furthest, unfortunately.
Now THIS is well thought out and all encompassing. While yes, there were some "WTF?!" moments, I respect the choices.
Yeah, it's real good. If I'm in the right zone I can listen to KISS talk for way too long.
Amazing how you fly through the ranking quickly and yet remain completely articulate throughout. Great work!!!
What a great video, so cool having all the extra albums included.
Excellent concept for a list and honest rankings, great job!
Ace's Kiss era solo album outsold all the other solo albums. As for being a terribly CZcamsr it pays to not be too polished and believe it or not making mistakes is good business on this site.
This is definitely an interesting video! Dude I really enjoy your channel. Thanks and keep it up
This was the best KISS ranking ever. I love Crazy Nights & Soul Station too. I’m glad they’re getting some love.
Nice work. Don't agree with everything but that's the beauty of perspective. Very informative and I appreciate your efficient direct delivery.
That's cool!

I’m a very big kiss fan and I want to say I enjoyed this video a lot. Thank you for sharing your opinions, and I mostly agree with you. I also learned a lot!!
If an album called “Asshole” shouldn’t sound shitty, I really can’t see any other possibility
WooHoo lot of thought and research in here. A true FAN. Lol, I’m not gonna be mad, I’m gonna enjoy this- thanks for doing it:)
Man..!.You`re a bank of knowledge.....Great Stuff !!...Fascinating !.....Love your Vids
Great ranking. Well done!
Great vid. Many releases that I never listened to... I'll check the ones I have not checked out yet

I didn’t include live albums because I don’t really know how to rank those against studio albums. Might do a live album ranking at some point.
Really great stuff!
Great reviews mate. I've just subbed to your channel
Thank you!
Congrats, you put a lot of thought into this. Ace's Anomale is underappreciated. Love the Genghis Khan guitar outro.
great list and rankings, you articulated well on what you liked and disliked about each, I owned a little more than half of these and can totally agree with you on those. Nice work, thanks
Love your channel
What an awesome ranking… I learnt alot
I didn't even know several of the solo project albums you included existed. Now I do and have something to look forward to listening to. This is by far the coolest KISS top album list I've ever seen. I have Dynasty as #1. Love your opinions! The B roll footage is amazing.
I'll just put this out there; many years ago before I read some reviews and learned I was *supposed* to think it sucked; I rather liked most of the songs on 'The Elder'. Also had some of the best guitar tones Kiss ever recorded.
A lot of those solos are just killer especially Under the Rose and World Without Heroes
I love the Elder, but I also love Spinal Tapp. I think Gene Simmons provided the best review for it. "As a Kiss album, I give it a zero, as a bad Genesis album, I give it a four."
THAT'S funny
I really enjoy the reviews, I really love Kiss and I agreed, for most part... you're great
Nice channel. Keep going. You're on to something.

Thanks so much!
Channeling a Steven Wilson look I see. Asylum is a guilty pleasure indeed. Enjoying the videos!
You just ranked a Bruce Kulick record over Hotter Than Hell. lol. No freaking way.
Well done! As a casual/nostalgic fan I was mostly clueless about most of the solo stuff and other bands/projects. Now I have some serious checking out to do. My list would have the first three albums higher, and I disagree with the consensus of putting Destroyer at the top. You guys are the only ones to think that way. Only god knows why. Not even Eric’s masterpiece can save the album as a whole.
Found your video in my news feed and had to watch because it is Kiss
I am not an huge kiss fan, but I love the way you treat the matter, ranking, analyzing every LPS, etc,
No 1 wasnt a suprise. Overall good list. And thanks for Union... as a Kiss fan i must be ashamed to confess that I never heard of it. Definetely gonna check it out!!. Keep up the good work!!!
Same here. This list introduced me to a bunch of new stuff.

Great job ranking… I have been a huge Kiss fan since middle school in ‘76…, although I agree with most, but I rank:
Rock and Roll Over
Dressed to Kill
Love Gun
Hotter than Hell
Destroyer
Kiss
Paul Stanley (solo album)
Gene Simmons (solo album)
Dynasty
Awesome job doing this!
Joey,
Great choices. 👌
You can ALWAYS tell the original 70's KiSS fans now aged well over 50 !
Done! You really need to send this video over to Bruce. You are insane Sean! But, I will give some of these Bruce offerings out because you like them so much and you're opinion is valid because you have listened to them! HA!
What happened to the live albums or the Box Set? Alive II has studio tracks. And Alive! Is their greatest record.
Agreed. Live albums should be included.
Finally, someone who has the good tastes to rank the Union albums right up there. I can't find them for the life of me on Amazon to purchase.
Alive, Destroyer, Alive II. That’s it.

You`re Awesome..!.great stuff
Who else is here before one thousand?
Least fave KISS songs
1. Beth
2. Baby Driver
3. Tomorrow and Tonight
4. And on the 8th Day
5. Burn Bitch burn
6. Murder in High heels
7. Read my Body
8. Take it off
9. God gave Rock n Roll to you
Amazing!
great video
My favorite KISS albums are:
KISS(1974)
Destroyer(1976)
Rock And Roll Over(1976)
Love Gun(1977)
Creatures Of The Night(1982)
Lick It Up(1983)
Animalize(1984)
The top 6 Kiss albums are the first 6 Kiss studio albums. it's really that simple
Finally the simple truth revealed.
Holy hell hotter than hell is low, it’s in my top 3 studio albums easy
i love the muddy sound of that album, brings a punk ethic to Kiss
🔥THNX!🔥
High quality video!
Really enjoyed your list. Did I miss “Chelsea”?
Paul's album sounds epic in places, great players and as many have said most KISS like.
Wow... my list would be drastically different.
Great to see UNION so high on someone else's list. I fucking love those two albums, and the live "Galaxy" album!
Awesome video! I'll have to check out Bruce Kulick's solo albums.
Overall, a great ranking and great episode.
I saw that and literally couldn't bring myself to listen to it.
Dude, major respect love your list overall could have went without all the add-ons but the live to win placement above the original Kiss album and various others even his soul station I know it comes down to Personal Taste but definitely not the majority opinion here
Great that you put carnival of souls in the top 10, such a great record
That was incredible. Adding in the other stuff was a cool and unique spin.
I love kiss and collect their albums.
But Sabbath is my biggest addiction/collection, and I include a decent sized family tree in that.
Thank you so much!
33:10 Hahaha, nope. Sean, you've got this!
Yes KISS 1976 and 1977. And yes, the first 3 albums.... That's why ALIVE! is the way to hear those songs. Eddie Kramer + KISS
Im glad you Ranked Revenge. I wouldnt have been able to take you seriously. My quick rank....1. Debut album, 2. Destroyer, 3. Revenge
Union is indeed a good band. Excellent album!
This is my list
1 - Kiss
2 - Destroyer
3 - Love Gun
4 - Dynasty
5 - Creatures Of The Night
hey! while i don't agree with some of your choices, i will defend your way of defending them, take my word. that was cool! lots of stuff i've never heard or cared for. but i will give a listen to Bruce's BK3- he's a perfect guitar player and i'm sure gene and paul cry secretly hiding their hearts every day because they 'had' to let him go. i like the way you placed Ace's stuff. he's truly my childhood god, and his 1978 Kiss solo Lp is at times heavy and druggy, a proto-stoner rock masterpiece. there's a place in Mexico called the Kiss Lounge, it's near a highway that connects Mexico City to another state. the Kiss Lounge is like a huge kiss museum/basement, full of all the stuff i wanted to own when i was a kid in 1980 and discovered them (and fell in love withc rocknoll forever). of course, it's also a bar with cover bands, so it's nice to visit (don't know if it's still open after the pandemic). the owner is someone that loved kiss since the 70s and had the chance to meet them through his wealthy dad or something; he became friends with Simmons and they both had the idea for this one of a kind place. i saw ESP there about 13 years ago and even interviewed Bruce and Eric and the rest for Rolling Stone magazine (mexican chapter). Bruce is the most down to earth rock star i've ever met (including 'down and dirty' thrash metal bands). cool guy, funny and witty and friendly. he gaveme two of his solo cds and even invited me over to his place if i ever visited California again! the others were, well, a bit stuck up. so there!
totally called destroyer being 1st but not a bad thing
Cool list, I’m a Kiss fan since around 1978 when they were on the Halloween special w/ Paul Lynde, I was like 12 then.
Why no live albums on the list?
I have a hard time ranking them against studio albums; feels like a whole different thing to me and the video would probably have doubled in length due to how many there are.
@@SeanBlumenshine ,
Gotchya, makes sense 🤙
Every one has opinion and love to hear KISS fans theirs and I am one too and have mine too
