Doctors do not make those decisions. He needed to contact CPS. The grandfather is an idiot for not doing that and so are the the hospital staff. Anyone at anytime can contact CPS if they are concerned for the welfare of a child.
@@TruthWillFreeYouA professional in a hospital is NOT allowed to have another person report to CPS instead of them. They can give a person the contacts to report on their own, but the hospital still has to report. Do better!

@@TruthWillFreeYouhospital staff are mandated reporters so they are the ones to report any concerns that comes to them regarding the safety of a child. I worked at a medical facility and I’m a mandated reporter even outside of my job I’m required to report any abuse or allegations of abuse

Hospital should be charged as well. The grandfather asked them multiple times to not let that baby go home with them mental illness excuses as fools

@@Dan-di9jd No homelessness is not a crime, but the hospital didn't even get CPS involved. You want your newborn living in a tent? No electricity, weather, etc, and when the knuckleheads assume something usually, they get them involved. Now that two people ask for them not to let them, they could have investigated before letting them take baby home. Did you not hear that they both have mental issues? Now look the baby was tortured, now deceased.
@@leelew.1462 I feel like you're blaming the wrong people. You said the grandfather asked the hospital. The hospital has no duty to call the CPS. If the grandfather knew they were homeless, living in a tent, and used witch hazel to cure their kid, then he should have called 911. There is no way the hospital would know that unless you're saying that while the parents were in the hospital that they did things to the kid and the hospital aware of it did nothing. But just being "homeless" is hardly a call to CPS because it's not a crime. The grandfather is fully aware of their situation more so than the hospital. If anyone should be charged, it should be the grandfather for having knowledge of their situation and did nothing.

How do you think a lot of babies are taken from parents right after birth? Or you didn't know that? Do your research on facts. Lots of people don't get to take their babies home because the hospital called CPS on the parents for arguing in the room, drugs in the babies system, themselves assuming it isn't a good idea. But I'm through explaining myself. You keep on thinking how you think. I know I have good sense, and who should be blamed. The parents who tortured that baby and the hospital who didn't take heed in what was said to them. If you were a teacher and suspect abuse or neglect, YOU are entitled to say something to CPS just like that hospital was. My gosh🤦🏾♀️
@@Dan-di9jdwhere I'm from if you are homeless, got drug, alcohol problems of any kind. The hospital is allow to call the CPS on you. The grandfather told his son to give him the baby. He report them while she was pregnant with the baby. So this not the grandfather fault.

Well, to be fair, parents had mental issues.. so the hospital should have had a case worker speak to parents, especially since Grandpa claimed he told this information to hospital staff...
@@simonecherrythe staff are mandated reporters. At the moment they knew, they had a legal mandate to call CPS and contact their in-house social worker. The severity of his complaint also mean they legally should have called the police. That hospital is in some HOT water; legal and civilly

In NYC with domestic violence, when police enter a premises there is something in place called a "must arrest", so that vulnerable mothers and kids in danger can be safe from an abusive parent. The police simply arrest the person, and sort it out later. But no one is killed by an abusive partner. Why doesn't the same apply to hospital staff who suspect abuse? Or, who are told by other family members that a newborn child is at risk?? The grandfather warned them. Now a child is dead and the hospital STILL refuses to accept any responsibility for this.
I wish they did have this in all states. These ppl in "positions" are never, if rarely, held accountable and that's wrong. If not arrested some type of system to report them as being a part of such situations. That all hospitals/medical facilities have access to.

I can't believe the hospital couldn't call child services to step in and rescue this baby. The fact that they parents were homeless should have been grounds to take the baby into protective custody.

I don’t care what kind of mental illness you have; it is sick and inhumane to do what they did to a baby; their own flesh and blood.
I suffered from mental health issues, and ended up with Post Partum Psychosis after giving birth to my first child. I was extreme unwell, but I did everything in my power to make sure my son was taken care of to the best of my ability…

As they should have!! They really need to start taking people seriously. The grandfather warned them, but what I don't understand is if he was that clairvoyant, why didn't he move them in with him so he could keep them under observation. He should have been reporting them from the day she got pregnant so they would have had the heads-up, or at the very least they could have gotten some type of help and maybe this tragedy would have never happened to begin with. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
How do you know he had the ability to move them in with him probably lives in Senior Citizen place and they are not allowed to others living with him
