Hi the blantons.just curious since not everyone is not in to joburg don't you perhaps see fit to hv three legs of the tour in the major city's for different people.some might like Durban,some cape and our beloved joburg just saying.
Good point and suggestion, South Africa is vast beyond Johannesburg and certain areas might not be to the taste or liking of other people

Go in January, February or even Early March. I'm a South African living in Soeul. When I go back home those are off peak seasons and its still summer and probably way cheaper than the December Festive Season. Right up until mid April its still warm temperatures, even in May it might be slightly chilly in places like Joburg during the evening but the temperatures are cool.
Am sure if you can reach out to the Blantons you could go early and possibly see a limited number of houses.

I watch a lot of HGTV and i always wonder why American house are that expensive, their build style is way too cheap for that ridiculous prices.
A wooden house that completely collapses upto the foundation during hurricane and you still have to treat the wood against termites and decay. I have seen many brick and mortar houses in Mozambique withstanding powerful hurricanes and maybe lose a roof here and there.
When you do purchase your homes in SA pls don't wash your hair in the kitchen sink guys. PLS!!
