    After months of searching for this elusive waterfall, we finally found it. Here's our story.
    Having first discovered the existence of this waterfall through beautiful photography by Mark Malloy, we became set on it ourselves.
    This process took months of reviewing photos on Instagram, videos on youtube, and cryptic news articles, none of which wanted to give away the location.
    The seaside here is extremely rich in fossils from the Carboniferous period, with fossils clearly visible all along the walk.
    This video is brought to you by Aras BnB located in Glencolmcille, Donegal, Ireland. We are a short 20 minute drive from this amazing waterfall.

    Hi Nick, Thank you so much for sharing! Ignore the naysayers who are saying you shouldn’t have - everyone should have the joy of seeing this beauty! Quick question - what time is best to visit considering the tide only allows a short timeframe?

    • @Nick-ye8pf
      @Nick-ye8pf Před 4 lety

      hi there. its not something I can answer, as it will depend on tides, meaning I cant say 9am for example, as it would depend on the day.You can use this link: www.tidetime.org/europe/ireland/donegal.htm to check tide times for Donegal. Aim to arrive at about 30 minutes before low tide, as that allows 30 minutes of receeding tide, a period of reversal, and 30 minutes before its back at the level you arrived at. an our should be plenty of time to get there and back.

    We were so close at the weekend. We git past the fossils and the cave but we couldn't get over the last set of rocks. Looked like we would have to climb/scramble but rocks were so wet. Was there right on time at 10.18 at night. Was actually on site from 9pm and worked over bit by bit.

    • @Nick-ye8pf
      @Nick-ye8pf Před 5 lety +6

      Well, sorry you feel that way. Nature is a gift for all to enjoy and most "locals" have never been to the place to begin with. What you don't realise is this brings tourism, which drives local business, which creates jobs and feeds the local economy. You can have that with its benefits, or you can have your opinion and it's lack thereof.

    • @donica7503
      @donica7503 Před 4 lety +4

      Most locals do know about the place, we just don't walk around with selfie sticks and post everything we do online,Am hearing that you will soon have to pay for parking at Slieve league, this once quiet peaceful part of the world is no more, been sold off to the highest bidder. as long as we got a few views and likes....Sad.

    • @Nick-ye8pf
      @Nick-ye8pf Před 5 lety

      Hi there. Nick here from ArasBnB.com. IF you're visiting for genealogy purposes, make sure you check out "oideas gael", the local Gaelic language school just a 5 minute drive from us. Loads of people take their courses which they couple with sight seeing. They're great. Regarding the vegan breakfast, just drop us a call and let us know what your needs are and we can explain options. We should point out that we provide a full kitchen for guest use, with a lovely log burner and dining space. Many of our guests opt to self cater some of their meals, so that is another option. We provide cupboard space for food and have several fridges for guest use while you stay. If you have any other questions, get in touch via our website "arasbnb.com" where Leon will be happy to answer your questions. See you soon!
