  • First I thought it was a piece of burnt wood and then I thought it was just a piece of rock. After going home I found out that is a bone from a whale head.. will try to update with the name tomorrow.

I enjoy finding both seashells and old fossils. Where there is water there are both to be found. Thanks for taking us along on another adventure!

Good beach morning! How did you get out of the mud? Don't you keep sinking? The whale skull was interesting to see...never know what you will find!

It was easy to get out of the mud for me and tried not to get my camera dirty and also not to loose my water shoes. I try to keep myself in good shape and that helps too. Thanks

Did your mud bath revitalize your skin? 😂 I wonder how old that skull is. Would be really interesting to know. You are a wealth of knowledge! I learn a lot from you. Thanks for the great day!

@user-kf7sp2qy4b most Whale bones in SC are found from the Miocene age. This is likely an extinct kind of Baleen whale. It could be anywhere from 5-23 million years old.

Yep.. plug mud. It comes off in the wash. I am used to it. I always promise myself that I won't get dirty but dirty cloth happens all the time. :)

why does that mud look like black mucky oil? is sand suppose to be that black? You got some on your white shorts so I guess you will know if its oil if you use oxy clean and bleach and it doesnt come out. Also how can you be finding so much amber there? amber comes from sap of trees....odd must be super old. Wow, neat finding whale vertebra and skull
