Itne prayas ke baad aapne hume unse milaya, apko dil se namaskar aur apke prayas ko salam, unke geet humesha yaad rehete hai,,,,,,, kajra muhbaatvala to badhiya,,
Sharma sir🕉🙏💚💯 bahot bahot dhanyawad aapka ji. She had regularly been in touch with Naushad ji. Naushad ji infact tried hard to make her sing for some of his compositions in 50's and 60's. Also, Shamshad ji was very very helpful. She had promised another Punjabi- OP Nayyar sahab in 1941-42 that when he will become a composer, she will sing first song for free for him. And she did that even when she was the best playback singer (Lata ji became popular later). Another scenario which Naushad ji had narrated to my grandpa that her brother was approached by Rafi sahab's elder brother in early 40's. And she told that "Ye veer ta bahot agge jauga"..and by late 40's, Rafi Sahab had really made up his indelible mark. Kya log the us waqt ke, usool ke pakke aur iman ke sachche🕉🙏💚

As she started to sing on the Radio she used her name as "Radharani" to sing bhajan. Also she made a record of the song "Tere Poojan Ko Bhagwan" as Radha Rani.
Shamshad Begum Johrabai Noorjehan Suraiya had similar kind of voice. Top legendary singers of 40s.

I used to sing in Orchestra. For perfect urdu pronunciation, I used to listen Shamshad ji songs.For example: "KAHE JADU KIYA...".In this song,tallafuj of 'NAGMA' word is how perfect.

I am very fond of her voice. I being a Naval Officer, I am sure that I would have been able to approach her son in law, there is a different bond among Defence Officers, and hence, I would have been able to meet her. Cdr. I have always loved the bold, sweet but with-a-touch-of-raspyness, and melodious voice of Shamshad Begum Sahiba. She freely sang with an abundance of spirit... much like Geeta Dutt Ji. Both could be romantic and flirty without sounding cheap. Each has many memorable duets with Rafi Saheb.
Incidentally, the news of the death, in 1994, of another Shamshad Begum at 100, was that of mother of the actress, Naseem Bano and grandmother of Saira. This seems to have caused confusion among many.
Please include the link for a clip of Gata Jaye Banjara's "In se Miliye." I have not heard of this accept as in the famous book of collection of the writings of the late Sahir Ludhiyanvi.
