Father of murdered Army Sergeant speaks after Preliminary Exam

- Tyrone Hassel Jr. talks about his son Tyrone Hassel III after Kemia Hassel, 22, and her co-defendant Jeremy Cuellar, 24, were bound over to Circuit Court after a preliminary exam on a charge first-degree premeditated murder at the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019. U.S. Army Sgt. Tyrone Hassel III, 23, was killed on Dec. 31, 2018. A police investigation revealed the pair, Cuellar and Hassel were having an affair and plotted to killed Tyrone to continue their relationship and reap financial benefits resulting from his death. Cuellar was stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia where Kemia and Tyrone were also stationed, where they lived with their 1-year-old child.

I just saw this story on The Murder Tapes. I was SO VERY angry that Kemia had ANY authority to say where their son would be raised. I know Tyrone Hassel Jr and his wife would be a far better place for that little boy (grandson). They raised such an amazing son, and I just know they'd provide a loving, stable home for that little boy. Not to mention she robbed them of their son, and they don't even get to see their grandson. Talk about injustice!

Had him killed by her brother for insurance. ...Toni Cato Riggs received life in prison, she died in prison 5.25.18. It says Discharged, but there are no Supervision Dates, and No Parole Centers mentioned. Now here come some other woman, Kemia Hassel, same scenario to take her place.. So sad, but God got it. RIP Spc. Riggs, and Sgt. Hassel God be with both your families.

I remember seeing this case on a show where it was a reenactment, all I can say that I feel so bad for this poor guy, my condolences to the family rest in peace Ty this girl that he was married to she was a hell of an actress. That’s the scary part. I have been with my husband and married to him for almost 40 years never once in my life we can never turn on each other like this, over money? never, I am 58 years old now I met him when I was 16,high school sweethearts, unfortunately, kids. Today in the world will have no understanding of what true love is,even if it is right in your face!money is always gonna be the number one in their lives and that’s the root of all evil.
