Psych and Monk discuss the merits of 10 and 9. Content is property of USA networks. I just posted to share because I love the show, I own nothing! www.usanetwork.com/series/psych/
They can't do the Mentalist 'cause they reference it to much in Psych. Unless.... The plot is that the main actor from the Mentalist is framed for murder and Shawn and the guy from Monk (never watched it) had to prove him innocent. Then it could work.
@@bkninja3172 The guy from Monk is called Monk. It's his last name; Adrian Monk. Oh and if you still haven't seen it, it's amazing. Definitely worth the watch.
I NEED THIS. Ar first I thought the wouldn’t mention the mentalist but it all changed when I heard shawn talking about how he would reconcile with his dad by buying some snacks and watching a marathon of the mentalist lol
The real problem with this ad is that Adrian would've been too freaked out about Sean leaning back in his chair like that that he couldn't have focused on the conversation
A psych/Monk reunion special would be amazing. It'd be great to see Shawn go up against Monk. Monk is the one man who might be able to *prove* Shawn isn't psychic and Monk dislikes psychics already. Just looking at these webisodes shows how funny their dynamic would be. It'd be great to see Monk interact with the rest of the psych cast too. Especially Lassiter. With psych getting some movie treatments lately, I'm hopeful they might decide the time is right so bring Monk back into the fold.
I feel like out of everyone the person who might get Monk the mist would be Gus lol but yeah man I hope at some point a Psych\Monk crossover happens in one of the psych movies
I literally can imagine the discussion between the two casts. Like think of this, Chief Vick talks to Captain Stottlemeyer, since they are both chiefs, Randy talks to Lassiter since they are both head detectives; Juliet O'Hara talks to Natalie, since they are somewhat like assistants to their bosses; Gus and Shawn talk to....MONK! How perfect would it be??
@@nameersadik2123 I actually think that Stottlemeyer and Lassiter would become the best of friends and would probably share a drink at a bar complaining about Monk and Shawn lol. I would love Sharona and Gus too bonding over their annoyances of Monk and Shawn lol.
They're both definitely talented I mean I would love them to compete with a case but I would also love seeing them work together because Ik that they wouldn't miss a thing
I think they're quite alike, Shawn Spencer has the same skills as Monk, detective skills, and they're both brilliant, both of their comedy is AMAZING, yet it's so much different. Also, Monk has way more drama than Psych has ever done, they're both my favorite tv shows, and I've watched both at least 3 times, of every single episode, Monk is having a fourth season, but I don't think you can compare the two, really.
WOW old school USA! I remember these days. I didn't start watching Monk until very recently. But I grew up on Psych, Burn Notice, White Collar, Royal Pains etc. I wish I would've watched Monk when it was airing just to see what was probably a legendary Friday night with Monk and Psych back to back. Talk about a fun evening of entertainment. It's too bad USA has sold out and got all dark and gloomy :( The Psych movie was the last time I even watched USA besides a NCIS or Law and Order SVU rerun
I love the dynamic these two have in just simple commercials. These two have such great chemistry. They should’ve done a big crossover episode or movie
I have obsessive compulsive disorder and i used to be obsessed with odd numbers (except for seven, I didn’t like sevens and certain even numbers were okay) but 9 was one of my favorites for just that reason
@orliluv Not completely different they both have Hyper Observation skills (u can also call it Hyper Observative towards DETAIL) not to forget to mention is this is all from Sherlock Holmes also a fictional character who has the same exact skills, they are both childish in their own way, so no it is pretty much the same.
I haven't watched TV in 10 years now (I resorted to the internet or DVDs and blurays) and it's quite baffling how odd it looks to me to see that one has to abide by the time schedule when those shows air. I know linear television is of course still a thing and I have been exposed to that most of my life but.... seeing that a show comes on only to a certain time of the day once.. man... it's just weird.
He’s in the series finale, although he’s not seen or called by name. Shawn is told that the San Fran police department already has a guy, and he’s in the kitchen alphabetizing the pantry 😂🤣
I think all the old good usa network shows should do a big crossover movie. House, Psych, Monk, Burn Notice, and White Collar. But first, Leland and Lassie should be stuck in the country living somewhere and it should right after Covid and Monk and Shawn have to work together to save their friends.
Well I hadn't seen the end yet, so thanks for letting me know so I could look it up. Though I wish they'd finish it with them competing on a mission and then working together. I mean they met in the announcement of it being back to back once, they were implied to be on the same case at the end of Psych, but we never got to see them work together or against each other. That would've been awesome.
@orliluv Your so right! And Monk is all mature and he always have to have everything perfect, Shawn is so immature and messy and he jokes all the time and has tons of fun.
I could make the argument that 10 is not really a number, it's two numbers 1 and 0, that when put together in a particular order represent a quantity greater than what can be represented by any single number. I could even argue further, that zero is not truly a number, but a valueless place holder. If all numbers represent a quantity, but zero represents the absence of a quantity, is it really a number? Perhaps this is why numbers cannot be divided by zero. So sorry Monk the answer is 9 the most valuable and interesting of all numbers.
This is only true in decimal. In dozenal, ten has its own digit. As for zero, one can argue just as easily that zero is the only true number since the other numbers are merely shorthand for the successor function applied to zero n number of times.
I think in a way its an inside joke, meaning that Monk got 9 but Shawn wanted nine so Monk is trying to persaude Shawn that 10 is better than 9, so walla!!!! Psych takes 10 while Monk takes 9 LOL
@Lexabboy um...Have you ever even seen the show? they have completely differant story lines. Monk is about a former detective with an obsessive compulsive disorder. Psych is about a guy whose hyper observant and pretends he's psychic. They're completely differant. Plus, Psych is awsome! it's funnier too! I mean, Monk is awsome. I love Monk. but Psych is way better.
I actually think Psych was based off of Monk. They even have some episodes with the same basic story plot. Like that one where there's a killing by a monkey and Shannen (?) takes it in to hide it, and then there's the one in Psych where the polar bear kills someone and Shawn takes it in to hide it. -shrugs- They're both epic though, so honestly I don't care xD
@orliluv i totally disagree psych is nice but in terms of funny monk takes the cake "peat and repeat was on a boat peat fell fell off who was left" amazing scene and far funnier than any scene i have seen on psych
They should make a Psych / Monk crossover movie.
So long overdue
@@nosferatu6385 Most we got was little promos where they'd cross or cross it with Dead Zone.
Monk and psych are in the same universe as hinted in the last Psych episode... I think 😅😅😅
YESASSSSSS
@@GothicTopicPodcast And the confirmation of them in the same universe based off the finale of Psych
this is what it's like to be ADHD and talk to someone who has OCD idk what to tell yall this is just it
What about those of us with both? Actually never mind this still works. The conversation is the same.
Lol I have adhd and my husband had ocd and it's a hilarious mess
Yup
Can confirm as an adhder whose best friend in grade 10 had ocd
I dream about a 2hr special between paych,monk,and mentalist
Get 500 million dollars and I'm sure all can be swayed, lol. Unless one or both or all hate each other that much.

yea they're both hyper observant. I love both these shows I've watched every episode of both shows multiple times I love it
Why doesn't Shawn wear that ever in the series?
15 years later and I'm STILL WAITING for the Psych and Monk crossover... that'll never happen... *sigh...*
Damn those were the days :(
why have they never done an episode together?, that would have been epic and hysterical!

"Psych, Burn Notice, White Collar..." dude, you are singing my song.
Good god, James Roday was so cute back then it should have been illegal.
All he needs to do is not eat so much, hire a trainer with the millions he has, unless he has an expensive addiction, and get back to that weight.
Jamaican Rain what makes you think a cable tv star would earn millions?? Lol
kimcheese his net worth is 3 million dollars
Gotta say, three 3s is pretty sweet
Am I the only one who imagined this as a Doctor Who argument
In which case, Shawn still wins. ;)
I live for these crossover commercials.
I love the dynamic these two have in just simple commercials. These two have such great chemistry. They should’ve done a big crossover episode or movie
Andy Breckman (sorry if I got last name wrong): "Never say never!"
Man I miss Monk. If the two had a crossover I just wouldn't know what to do with myself! XD

i love the monk-psych previews, every single one
Shawn Spencer gives a great argument statement that nine is three pairs of three... :)
That was the first/last/only time I remember Shawn ever making sense.
awww shawn looks so cute and young!i miss monk!hope psych too gets to complete atleast 10 seasons!go shawn and gus!!:D
Love how he wants to be at 10. Haha. It's his favorite number.
Monk and the Gang Need to Appear in Psych. That'd be an awesome episode!!!

True, but also because it was a short, much anticipated thing, it tasted so sweet.
Okay, if Adrian Monk guest stars on an episode of Psych, I'd totally watch it.
He’s in the series finale, although he’s not seen or called by name. Shawn is told that the San Fran police department already has a guy, and he’s in the kitchen alphabetizing the pantry 😂🤣

“But if you add one more” lmao
Anyone wonder if this could be a foreshadow of where they were both on the same case at the end of the series? O_O *mind blown*
It was!!! They said it in the commentary

Psych and Monk is the best shows of all time.
@orliluv Your so right! And Monk is all mature and he always have to have everything perfect, Shawn is so immature and messy and he jokes all the time and has tons of fun.
I love these promos lol.
@VeritasDraco i always wondered why monk was never on at 10...it just makes sense.
What if, you took the 1 and added it to the 0... it'd be 9...
Wow. Shawn looks so young.

Well Spencer is in San Francisco now
There is no mention of James Roday (Shawn Spencer) on IMDB being on Monk, so it might have just been a promo and that's it :(
Bingo. It's one of those usual promos USA has (had; don't watch commercials much)
@Vinya Meh. I kinda like him filled out a little.
@Vinya That's kinda what happens when you eat in every other scene of every episode.
@VeritasDraco Yeah i noticed it too first time i got here.
Genial!!!
@TVJunkie134 do u kno when psych will be bac?
@daddyland ik im not TVJunkie123, but it should be comin this fall
@brickitandmore What are you talking about? Gus is on Psyche.
I feel the same way about 10. 😂😂😂
I'm in the Midwest. Monk is an 8. That's infinity on its side.
@MelissaTayylorr He said 3 3's, not 2 3's.
I'm not from USA so, what means 9/8 c and 10/9 c i know it have something to do with the time but...? ;-)
@MelissaTayylorr he didnt say two thress he said THREE threes and 3x3=9
Both of them are based on SHERLOCK HOLMES - all of it is based on a British novel x
When they do a crossover, IF they do a crossover, please reply to this comment. I currently don't have cable or a dish (or FIOs).
U can make a square with a 9
Psych or Monk....I can't decide!!! :O
i miss monk...
I mean, if Shawn was rooting for 9, and Monk was rooting for 10, shouldn't the times be swapped? :P
Psych is more like the mentalist ..Shawn Spencer even mentions it a couple of times in the show
how old is Shawn here he looks a lot younger
Let's be honest: I don't know what criminal they're hunting but he's fucked.
I think in a way its an inside joke, meaning that Monk got 9 but Shawn wanted nine so Monk is trying to persaude Shawn that 10 is better than 9, so walla!!!! Psych takes 10 while Monk takes 9 LOL
monk just wanted that time slot lmao
9 all the way!
3 3s... Come on!
was psych at monk or monk at psych?
10 all the way
How to install door knob
10 is the best
9 all the way
Nine is better to me because it's three times itself, whereas ten is just two times five. Five isn't even a multiple of two! It's just not the same.
two 3's would be 6 Shawn... :p
@13CookieMunster what are you talking about?! 10 is so much better !!!!
Shawn needs to mention that neither of them are 10 if you count it as Central Time
no monk wants ten because of his OCD and Shawn is trying to convince monk that nine is good too, so he could take that time slot.
sentimental values
9 is more amazing than 10 ;D
