  • ESC 1964 Spain, no. 16: Los TNT performing the song “Caracola” (“Seashell”) during the Eurovision Song Contest 1964, hosted by Lotte Wæver in the Tivolis Koncertsal in Copenhaguen, Denmark, on March 21st, 1964.
    💡 SUBTITLED AND TRANSLATED!
    This song placed 12th with 1 point from Italy, the winning country.
    Los TNT were the first group ever to participate in ESC. Nonetheless, since groups were not allowed then, they were introduced as Nelly Croatto accompained by Tim and Tony. This year also saw the first non-European performers: Indonesian singer Anneke Grönloh was the first as she performed earlier in the running order - Los TNT, an Italian-Uruguayan group, were the second.
    A stage invasion occurred before the previous entry (Belgium) in which a man came into the stage with a sign reading "Boycott Franco & Salazar" in protest to the Spanish and Portuguese dictatorships.

    I didnt realize she was holding a seashell until now. Guess that makes her one of the first people to sing with a prop in eurovision, after Margot Heilscher, Teddy Johnson, and Katy Botdger

    Es de las canciones de España que quedó mal en el concurso y mereció, si no ganar, al menos quedar en un mejor puesto

    Que incrível interpretação de amor com o pouco mistérioso com nele que tantos das proficiências, o tudo são elegâncias!

    ¡Que canción tan bonita!! qué voz tan bonita, es increíble que no quedara en el top 3, aquí hubo razones políticas sin duda alguna. Fue una injusticia y crueldad la posición en la que quedo.

    Bonita canción, preciosa voz, estupendos arreglos orquestales, final apoteósico... Pero la letra es un absoluto caos.

    What a stunning song! Did she change her dress mid-performance?

    • @awugaESC
      @awugaESC  Před rokem +8

      Noo, the different outfits belong to different performances (rehearsals). It's very likely that the dress she wore during the live broadcast was the short, pink one (the one in the thumbnail!).

    Is she holding a seashell? I always thought she was just putting her hair behind her ear? Lol

      @awugaESC  Před 8 měsíci

      Yep, she is! Not the first person to bring some sort of item on stage (by then, they had seen telephones, notebooks, fake birds...)
