- We spent three days fly fishing the Wetlands of Ibera Provincial Reserve in Argentina, experiencing the ferociousness of the Golden Dorado first hand. It's incredible when a "monster of a fish" such as the Golden Dorado is found in one of the most remote and secluded places in the world. Iberá The Marsh of Gold is filled with magnificent Dorado as well as, some of the most stunning scenery you could possibly imagine. We are excited to share with you the electric experience of Fly Fishing for Golden Dorado in The Ibera Marsh of Argentina in South America!

Hermosas imágenes!, que gran aventura!.
Me alegra saber que en mi país hay emprendedores que tratan bien al turista, y sobre todo al pez. Muchas gracias por tan hermoso video.
Saludos desde Tandil, Argentina.
Truly awesome. Australia to Argentina - there's the top bucket list trip right there. Thanks for taking the time to present it all. Cheers PP

Great stuff, guys!
My friend and I are at Itati Lodge as I’m writing this. We’ve had one and a half days of fishing. No luck so far. My friend had one on for a short time. Hoping for a better day today.
Three missed Dorados this morning. Turned out that I was watching my fly line to detect a strike and NOT my fly. My nymphing-without-an-indicator ways caused some missed fish for me…
Ha ha. Yup. Hard to rid yourself of trout brain!
@@FlyFishFood yesterday was our final day fishing the Parana by Isoro. We tried the marsh at Isoro, but it wasn’t productive. Ibera Marsh was off limits due to lack of water. I had a really hard time with trip-setting as I have 35 years of nymphing experience and raising the rod tip was too ingrained. Lost a lot of chances. Finally it all came together and I landed a 20 pound beauty. All our Set Fly Fishing guides ( Lukas, Juan, and Tete ) were awesome. They really wanted us to have the best fishing experience and pushed us to make it happen. My buddy managed to catch a large vampire fish. The worse thing was the unbearable heat, which was around 100 degrees during our afternoon fishing. I drank huge quantities of water with electrolytes added and never had to relieve myself until I got back to camp.
This was my first such trip and it was an experience for a lifetime
oh shit the capybara pulled up
Amazing adventure. How can I get in touch with the guide there to organise same?
You should try this with the new Orvis Superfine Glass 8wt. I picked one up for pike fishing, and getting a big predator on fiberglass is really something!
Which rod broke and which section broke? I ask because I had 8, 9, and 10 weights break this summer / fall on taimen and jack crevalle (two Sage R8s and a Scott Meridian. The meridian was my fault). Insane fights, but still, rods should not explode like that IMHO. Rods are getting awfully delicate. Good job getting La Vaca grande into the net, such as it was. It's a team sport :)
Hopefully we don’t lose a gringo 😂😂😂
Maybe someone should think about having those spiders make tippet material!
I think the closest fish to the Golden Dorado might be ,as far as the same size would be a Redfish, which are tanks as well.
Came for the Dorado. Stayed for the A’s hat.
When some fly tying tutorials on Dorado flies?
Oh, I expect they will have some posted within a few days of this. After All its Fly Fish Food. Its what they do!
Gonna be hard to go back to trout after that.
Flying back from a Patagonia trout trip right now… Surprisingly it wasn’t too hard at all!
@@FlyFishFood awesome!! I usually have to ease my self back in to trout after a big trip by going on another trip when I get home. I’ll be in SLC next week, what color monsters should I bring in?
This trip must have cost a pretty penny.
I heard the trout strike line, I hope ppl realise you shouldn't strike trout with a "trout strike" either, always downstream, never a high rod and always control the line. Do this and nothing misses except big barbed hooks on bone
