    "When He comes He is not to cleanse us of our sins, to remove from us the defects in our characters, or to cure us of the infirmities of our tempers and dispositions. If wrought for us at all, this work will all be accomplished before that time. When the Lord comes, those who are holy will be holy still. Those who have reserved their bodies and spirits in holiness, in sanctification and honor, will then receive the finishing touch of immortality. But those who are unjust, unsanctified, and filthy will remain so forever. No work will then be done for them to remove their defects and give them holy characters. The Refiner does not then sit to pursue His refining process and remove their sins and their corruption. This is all to be done in these hours of probation. It is now that this work is to be accomplished for us." - EGW

      “Be careful, exceedingly careful as to how you dwell upon the human nature of Christ. Do not set Him before the people as a man with the propensities of sin. He is the second Adam. The first Adam was created a pure, sinless being, without a taint of sin upon him; he was in the image of God. He could fall, and he did fall through transgressing. Because of sin, his posterity was born with inherent propensities of disobedience. But Jesus Christ was the only begotten Son of God. He took upon Himself human nature, and was tempted in all points as human nature is tempted. He could have sinned; He could have fallen, but not for one moment was there in Him an evil propensity. He was assailed with temptations in the wilderness, as Adam was assailed with temptations in Eden.” Manuscript Releases, vol. 13 p. 18

    Prof, I have always been blessed by your sermons. I assumed you read the works of AT Jones. From this, I don’t think you have.
    The righteous at that time will live without an intercessor because they won’t need one. They would have been settled into the truth so that they won’t be moved. God’s declaration of he who is holy be holy still does not make them that way. It’s a declaration of what they already are because they had been receiving truth at every step.
    Time of trouble, The Great Controversy. EGW says:
    Now, while our great High Priest is making the atonement for us, we should seek to become perfect in Christ. Not even by a thought could our Saviour be brought to yield to the power of temptation. Satan finds in human hearts some point where he can gain a foot-hold; some sinful desire is cherished, by means of which his temptations assert their power. But Christ declared of himself, “The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” [John 14:30.] Satan could find nothing in the Son of God that would enable him to gain the victory. He had kept his Father's commandments, and there was no sin in him that Satan could use to his advantage. This is the condition in which those must be found who shall stand in the time of trouble

    The final demonstration of what the gospel can do in and for humanity is still in the future. Christ showed the way. He took a human body, and in that body demonstrated the power of God. Men are to follow His example and prove that what God did in Christ, He can do in every human being who submits to Him. The world is awaiting this demonstration. (Romans 8: 19) When it has been accomplished, the end will come. God will have fulfilled His plan. He will have shown Himself true and Satan a liar. His government will stand vindicated.
    It is in the last generation of men living on the earth that God's power unto sanctification will stand fully revealed. The demonstration of that power is God's vindication. It clears Him of any and all charges which Satan has placed against Him. In the last generation God is vindicated and Satan defeated. (The Sanctuary Service 108-109 ML Andreasen)

      When God commands men to keep His law, it does not serve the purpose He has in mind to have only a few men keep it, just enough to show it can be done. It is not in line with God's character to pick outstanding men of strong purpose and superb training, and demonstrate through them what He can do. It is much more if harmony with His plan to make His requirements such that even the weakest need not fail, so that none can ever say that God demands that which can be done by only a few. It is for this reason that God has reserved His greatest demonstration for the last generation. This generation bears the results of accumulated sins. If any are weak, they are. If any suffer from inherited tendencies, they do. If any have an excuse because of weakness of any kind, they have. If, therefore, these can keep the commandments, there is no excuse for anyone in any other generation not doing so also. But this is not enough. God intends in His demonstration to show, not merely that ordinary men of the last generation can successfully pass a test such as He gave to Adam and Eve, but that they can survive a test much harder than such as falls to the lot of common men. It will be a test comparable to the one job passed through, and approaching that which the Master underwent. It will test them to the utmost.

    It is very clear from Walter's answer that he has no clue what he is talking about. Quoting from a book that someone else has written is clear evidence that he is seeking justification for what he beliefs, for if he was seeking Truth he would have search the scriptures diligently, for the Truth will set you free. It is Written: 1 John 3: 4-9 "Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
    7 Little children, LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God."

    Walter Veith doesn't believe in 1888 there for he most be against the last generation theology. NOBODY has ever said that Last Generation Theology (LGT) is presuming on any personal attainments, but the Grace of God and His power to keep from sinning. This is false and unfair from such SDA teacher to imply such an error. LGT is the defense of 1888, and if anybody being Veith or another believer, wants to attack, ridicule and diminish 1888, well ... will have to answer to God. Ellen G White was the one to say under inspiration that this truth is what the people needed for translation. Brother Walter ... for you to take this position of attacking God's plan, is beyond scary and indeed deemed to be called "presumption".

    • @Colin-to1nv
      @Colin-to1nv Před 6 měsíci

      Oh yes he does believe in 1888, it's just not necessary to say so when there are other statements of the truth.
      LGT is the label thanks to other brethren than Elders Wieland & Short, who single handedly started the revival of 1888. Different topics, really, but the same Gospel message: justification, pardon & heart renewal, is totally distinct from sanctification, i.e. lifestyle change and Christ-like character development, though these truths are joined together by grace through faith in our daily lives, as we all agree.
      Walter wasn't saying the gospel truth is relying on your own strength; rather, that is readily a wrong perception of this situation. Equally we should not think that such heights of Gospel glory are unattainable for us: God has spoken, so it shall come to pass.
