I just found a jaw here on the floor, I believe it's yours. 😁 Great reaction, thanks!
My favorite moment is when they clear the tatami by kicking aside the tea sets to dance properly. I'm a huge fan of "Megitsune" and its music video and this one has several similarities, including the same director. Apart of the similar general setup, the use of "matsuri" masks, the masked figures peeping, etc. in "Megitsune" they get rid of the kimonos by pulling the "obi" (kimono sash) to move freely. It's like they are telling us that they put aside the more restrictive and elitist traditions in favor of the more popular and inclusive ones.

"Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi!“ Welcome back, great reaction. The live performances of this have been completely wild and the crowds are going nuts! 🤘🤪🤘
This is Momometal's first official music video since she was revealed as the official new member in April and she even got her own solo part with the spoken kabuki theatre section.
The song title translates as 'Metali' (or 'Metari') which is a fusion of the words metal and matsuri (festival). The song is about a Metal Village holding a metal festival, so they have included all the matsuri shouts everybody would be calling out as encouragement to the people carrying heavy floats etc like "Sore, Sore", "Dokoisho" and "Wasshoi!".
They are inviting us all to dance - I am reliably informed there is something in the lyrics (Su sings it and it is in Momometal's kabuki section) about we are all idiots or fools - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance.
This is what Tom Morello said about this song:
"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"

Hey DonutMetal, it's been a while, you didn't show up with more BM songs from the new album or in general, hope to see you around with more.
We got another banger for Japanese festival or any festival around, they performed this recently at Houston starting The Babyklok Tour in the US as well in all the cities they've been around, hopefully they will do the same at Aftershock and get the crowd going nuts with this, unfortunately Blue Ridge Rock Festival was cancelled but they already did Louder Than Life being the first festival for them in the US after 4 years.
It's their first song released with this new BM reborn and formation.
The live debut was at Apocrypha - Another One exclusive show right before the track released, it was fun and totally unexpected, everyone was having a blast and even started with a Kami Band solo after a while without it.
The song title is Metali!! (metal + matsuri, which is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when one of them (MomoMetal) is doing the Kabuki moves style.
Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festival when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya you can hear in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen, also used in Megitsune.
I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts.
    Next suggestion:
    - Monochrome official lyrics video or live at Makuhari Messe 2023, probably hard to get a clean version so you can find a live compilation at NLMetal.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this and see you next time.🦊🤘🎸

There are many incredible songs performed on their US tour, but this gets the crowd hyped! Love these women. ❤️🦊. I can’t wait to see their Japanese fans take this to the next level!

You really should react to much more BABYMETAL, particularly their earlier material - if you were impressed by this track, then you will find much of their earlier work right up your alley.

So many things to love about this song and MV. A Japanese festival song, both lighter-hearted and harder hitting than their other Japanese festival song, Megitsune. Metali!! starts out with the sound of the shamisen where Megitsune had the koto (despite its MV showing shamisen players). There was an ease, and even gracefulness, to the dancing that seemed exceptional to me. I am also glad that new member, and angel of joy, Momometal got a special feature doing the Kabuki style spoken part in the bridge. And Super Moa chan is kawaii as ever. But my favorite part, as is common for me, is actually Su-'s vocals. Yeah, you heard those extra special bits, too.

Megitsune is not a festival song. It's a women's empowerment anthem. Now I would say Pa Pa Ya would be the first festival song.

    • @johnschultz7765
      @johnschultz7765 Před 9 měsíci +1

@@yolandria , in an interview right after the release of Megitsune, Su-metal described the song as " 'wa'-metal or festival-metal." And there are the Sore Sore ... and Seiya Soiya ... chants and the Japanese street festival choreography. That the song also touches on women's role in society in the lyrics does not negate the rest.
