I was only 3 when this race was live, but i do remember my dad being so happy. And whatever made him happy made me happy and therefor, I was always a Jeff Gordon Fan.
You know, Ray Evernham was the guy who taught Chad Knaus how to comb through the rulebook and make NASCAR look like damn fools by exploiting the grey areas.
Funny how if he was mentoring Chad why he didn't pick him as the crew chief for the Busch Series team back in 1999 and 2000? He picked Patrick Donahue instead.
@@jeffgordonedits1258 I worked for Patrick for a time quite a while ago now and he was a fine crew chief for our cars. While he really can't compete vs Chad Knaus I can guarantee you that if both men knew a big opening was available on a team Pat would have been the first one up to step up and be counted and that probably would have given him an edge getting picked over Knaus who is ridiculously talented and hardworking but not one to draw attention to himself. It is very easy for me to see Patrick pushing to get the job and Knaus kind of hanging back and getting passed over. Pure guesswork on my part, but I think it's likely to be true.
Well it was within the rule book. Only reason they changed rules after this race is that team owners were complaining that they would have to spend a bunch of money to rebuild all their cars for a chance to compete
I wish they would just let these guys race! Let the teams be creative & innovative! That’s part of the fun of watching racing is seeing who is going to bring what out to the track 😑.
“This was only a test if it had been a real emergency we would have lapped the field” that line killed me 😂
Just think if nascar had not banned that car how many more wins he would have won
The GOAT!!!

The T-Rex car....

Chad was actually on Jeff's pit crew at the time.

The car that was built to intentionally exploit every grey area in the rule book.
Shoulda made a better rule book 🤷🏻♀️
That's the point of making a racing car.

Playing my nascar game I'm so dominant i imagine myself driving the t rex car
What fun times.
If you ain't cheatin...you ain't tryin. RE was the king of skirting the rulebooks and Jeff drove his ass off
❤❤😍
Yea if they would've just chilled talking about the car , they could've ran it all year..
The car NASCAR banned!
Nascar hated this car.
Nascar decided to railroad the team and not allow them to bring it back.
“Full race” then proceeds to cut to 15 laps to go.
I edited the entire race, that's what that means hence why my channel is called Jeff Gordon EDITS. I don't leave in parts that don't showcase Jeff.
