Such a beautiful set yet so brutal. This is one of those sets that if you weren’t there when it came out then you missed it.
So true kinda like evolutions, booster boxes were going for around 90 bucks when the set came out, but now there going for around 800 bucks
I remember the Wawa in my town had a basket with like 100 evolving skies booster packs for sale. I’d buy a few everytime I went til they sold out. Still haven’t pulled an alt art and prob never will at this point lol
literally, not just price. The hits were much better in the initial runs (a V or Vmax like every third pack), it's like they took the alt arts out of the reprints. Just horrid.
@@Julesrules28 yep, Evolutions even worse. Even if you pull the Charizard 9 times out of 10 the corners will be factory jacked. Futile.

Crazy how a modern box that used to go for around $130 is now $400, crazy !
My guess is Crown Zenith will be next to spike once it's out of rotation. Last English cards with yellow borders, and more full arts than most if any other.

Even with the pull rates, I have a feeling that Evolving Skies will become one of the most collectible sets in the years to come.
what does this mean, like it will go down in price or get reprinted? I'm debating buying lots of singles for it so curious why you think that and what specifically you mean

The alt arts in the set are insane. I wish I got more of the set when it came out initially. Here’s hoping for a reprint
It's been so crazy watching the price of this booster box climb over time, and it's still such a young set! I really like the set and the various alt arts, but the brutal pull rates just make it so tough for me to truly love it.
Evolving Skies is gonna be one of those sets that stands the test of time. Great video man.

Evolving Skies, other than the 4 or 5 chase cards is a pretty mediocre set with historically bad pull rates. It's beyond bizarre to me that people like it so much. The Rayquazas and Dragonite are excellent, but that Moonbreon is a pretty boring artwork. It wasn't even popular when Evolving Skies came out until a small handful of people started a buyout and created a frenzy.
Evolving Skies will be known where you had to spend $5k to complete the master set.

It's a complete joke of a set to me. Pull rates are horrible, yes the alts are awesome but good luck ever pulling them. They needed to print this set into the ground then maybe we'd have a different conversation.

Pullrates prior to the trainer gallery were brutal. So glad Violet and Scarlet have better pullrates
I love this set but scarlet and voilet is probably one of my favorite sets because it’s introducing such amazing new Pokémon cards to the table can’t wait to see what the next set is!🤯🤯🤯

Evolving Skies was my favorite to open up, because Umbreon is my favorite pokemon, but also because I played Emerald so much as a kid that I could still tell you exactly what to do next. I loved the nostalgia for me, but it's crazy that people wanted this set so bad that prices skyrocketed this badly.
I absolutely love this set. Bought a case of booster boxes, before the box price went through the roof, and managed to pull the moonbreon in the first box of the case!! Still chasing that ray ray vmax alt art though!! But the master set is coming along slowly!!
Evolving Skies is such a good set. It’ll definitely be one of those sets to remember when years and years have passed

I love this set, but i started collecting last year in september. The prices were crazy high and are still rising till now. Opened 2 packs out of a collection box and got Duraludon VMAX. Anyways i love it!!

I wonder how Paldea Evolved will compare to Evolving Skies. They both have Evolve in their name so maybe they’ll be similar in terms of the number of amazing cards that you can pull. Looking forward to it!

On one hand, it's crazy that such a recent set is so expensive. On the other hand, there are so many alt arts in this, not to mention the Eeeveelutions alone which people LOVE, so I also get why it's so expensive. This one is going to keep climbing and climbing for sure! Love this set!
I love this set! I was lucky enough to pull the Umbreon Vmax alternate art out of a single check lane blister! Without having a subset it really is an all or nothing set though! Beautiful artworks for sure 🌙
I was very surprised when the prices went up but I understand why. I never opened a booster box and I would love to open evolving skies but when I saw the prices I did not buy it. For me it is just too expensive. Love the new scarlet and violet as it is a very interesting base set ❤

2 or 3 extra nice alt arts than Chilling Reign and Fusion Strike, but with identically bad pull rates. This set is below average to me lol
It’s crazy to think that opening a booster box of this set back when it realeased was just as normal as opening up a newer release set!
I think the artwork is awesome in this set, I’m glad I got my booster boxes when they first came out! I think I’ll hold onto them now I’ve seen the price rocket!
bought my first booster box like 7 years ago which was the evolutions set , afterwards life took over but I’ve slowly been getting back into wanting to collect pokemon cards again and this set has such a beautiful arrangements of art that it’s convincing me to break my bank account.
Do not buy any at these price ranges wait for another set

I managed to get around 8-10 packs of ES in the wild and I've only got one decent card from it, the odds have not been in my favor but the hunt is still fun.
Hoping to land at least one Alt art.

I can see that. S&V is decent and has good pull rates. But the best card, Miriam SAR is only worth about 130 or less raw. I miss how tough it was to get an alt or even full art. I recently got a Celebi V out of Fusion Strike after a year of buying packs and idk how much I spent for it was so rewarding.
$400 for a 2 year old set is absolutely insane,, really has me wondering what it’ll be worth a couple years from now

It’s one of the best set in term of contain, but one of the least enjoyable to open. Probably the worst set of the sword shield era for pull rate.

I absolutely loaded up on cases of this set to keep sealed.. and I bet a decent amount of us did. This set was under $100 on Amazon at one point and I got my first Moonbreon from one of those. Sealed sets always go for more than card value.. just look at steam siege, which it's top card under $10. Everything about this set screamed "keep some of me sealed for 2046 50th anniversary boom." Kids of today will want to open this set, and it had too many good arts for the set not to get crazy expensive sealed. Over $20T is going to be passed onto the next generation over the next 20 years. The pandemic has shown us what people purchase with free money... Pokemon went absolutely bonkers. This set will be notorious forever. It does have brutal pull rates... but so does Chilling Reign, Fusion Strike, etc. If pull rates were better, card values would have been too low to keep money burners interested. Why were people paying $1,000 for evolutions? No one knows... but this set will forever be nostalgic. Keep them sealed for the next generation in 2046. This set will have more generations that can afford it. It will keep going up and pass the way older sets. In 25 years there is not much of a difference in age from 2016 sets or 2021 sets... 25 vs 30 years old. Vintage will be vintage. And this will be the most sought after set.
Thus the reason why the price is so high ... If everyone didn't hoard, some collectors might be able to get their hands on this stuff.
@@typicalfuriousgamer4859 this and Vmax climax were the only two sword and shield BB's I really stacked up on. Arceus GameStop exclusive when that hit $69.99 (people will eventually want to collect every metal card), as well as the Pokemon Center Crown Zenith ETB plus boxes. Knowing the Pokemon cycle, it's difficult to justify opening these. And it'll be appreciated by future generations that were two young to get their hands on BB's. Our generation has opened enough of these, imo. Save some for future generations. It'll always be regarded as the top set, imo. And the price will only rise on this as the cheapest ones get bought out.

I have pulled ARCEUS v alt art, charizard v alt art, and honchcrow v alt art out of one brilliant stars booster box however they definitely have different pull rates

Definitely a set I'd rather keep sealed than open! Can't deny the alt arts are some of the best ever made though so it's certainly tempting!

These arts are so cool!!! I just wish I had opened them more and kept sealed product.
This box was 100 even when I bought it at release. Hit Glaceon vmax alt Golurk v alt Gold electric energy and Umbreon full art all in one booster box. Now they're 450 bux and you'll be lucky if you hit one v alt in a box.
400 dollars is quite a high price however with all the ult arts and other nice cards in Evolving Skies it may just be worth it

My local card store is selling loose packs for $11.99 each! Crazy how when I worked at Best Buy I always got evolving skies with my employee discount and pulled some great pieces of art!

Once I hade 3 secrete rares in an evolving skies box it seems the sets pull rates are super random but you may of not got great pulls but the video was amazing

i actually found one in my room in the back of a drawer and like i remember buying it for like $160-$180 but like my chase card still is moonbreon so im really wanting to open it but i dont know if i have the courage to do it.

I started collecting when silver tempest came out but wow, 400 for evolving skys. The only way ill get evo is by getting lucky on pokemon V boxes. Welp thank you for the show and good luck on the next pulls!
