  • Why do people become homeless? How many people does it affect? How does government legislation affect the provision for the homeless? There are over an estimated 300,000 homeless people in the UK and ‘Rough Sleepers’ the people we see on the streets only represent a very small percentage of the total number of people caught in this epidemic.
This film explores the complex reasons that lead to people finding themselves on the street and the difficulties in supporting them in light of the consequences of austerity policy.
With contributions from Dr Victoria Cooper, Dr Daniel McCulloch, Dr David Scott and Dr Mathijs Lucassen The Homeless Problem gather a wide range of expertise and first-hand testimonials from people that have experienced homelessness in a discussion that examines topics as wide-ranging as mental health to the relationship between homelessness and the criminal justice system.

Why begging would even be illegal? Bcs they don't pay taxes?! Or bcs they are a visible, governement's proof of guilt?!

Having spent some years homeless myself I can assure you that the problem is not homelessness.

I agree, we have more than enough for every person to have a good home with essential amenities, clothes, and clean food and water. The crime is the system that causes people to become homeless and keeps them in homelessness. This is a crime against humanity.

@@Sol-Amar Absolutely! Punishing poor, homeless people instead of helping them is a crime.

It is very heartbreaking what the homeless people suffer and they have nowhere else to go when sick. They need help and support from other people.

This in the same society where we agreed that Hugh Grovesnor should be gifted £9,000,000,000 almost completely tax free, because his dad was.
Homelessness is an absolute disgrace upon the so-called upper-class.

The law needs to be changed to make it easier for homeless people to obtain jobs. There should be centres setup for homeless people to wash their clothes and wash themselves.

To end homelessness for yourself in heaven how did you end it for your neighbors on earth..
