I hiked the Lower Montauk on surrounding streets in 1977 and 1997 and accessed the Richmond Hill station. Your video has the facts right. You knew where the stairs from street to station were. The line was elevated in 1923, eliminating the grade crossing. Post card views of the pre-1923 station show a nice station building at street level that could not stay.
Closed in 1998. I took trains on this branch for a little while. Now it is used by the NY&Atlantic Railway for freight operations. This line is not abandoned
Totally off subject but was trying to see how I could give you a topic.I was thinking about HyperLoop which I think just wouldn't work but being optimistic if you could make a Hyperloop in New York City that "looped" to other stations. What stations would the Hyperloop go to. Example Jamaica Station/Parson Blvd to Stillwell Ave to Atlantic Ave to Fulton Center to 34th St to Yankee Stadium to City Field back to Jamaica Center for that "loop"
Incredible, you got footage in track POV!

The station is abandoned but you're definitely right, it's in use! Nice to know you took trains on the branch.
