  • In this video I show you how to accurately measure an ambient temperature while having this SKMEI watch on your wrist. People would say that you can only measure the temperature when your watch is off your wrist and thus is not affected by your body temperature, but here you will learn how to eliminate the affect of your body heat on the accurate temperature measurements.

Only calibrate temp when the watch is: A. Off the wrist and resting for awhile, and B. Compared against a known good thermometer sitting very close to the resting watch.
The Temp sensor while wearing the watch is influenced by your skin temp. You can't expect a good reading of the air temp, either inside or outside, until the watch is out of contact with warm skin for a few minutes. So it makes no sense to have the watch on the wrist and try to make it read outdoor or even indoor temp - it just does not work that way.
The SKMEI 1358 watch only senses the temp at the sensor on the back of the watch. While wearing, the reading is influenced by your skin temp. To get a correct air temp reading, take it off and set it aside for at least ten minutes. This is exactly how temp sensors work on the best Casio G-Shock models costing more.

I was thinking about the Casio PRG-330, but I am playing it safe and testing this much cheaper Skmei 1358 for now. The Skmei 1358 has a pedometer, of which the Casio does not, if memory is correct ? Casio better step up their game! lol :) No joke, the green LED on the Skmei 1358 literally lights up my whole room in total darkness. Seriously, buy it and test for yourself. This watch can literally be used as a *FLASHLIGHT* if that's all you had, or wanted to preserve the batteries / charge on your main flashlight. The Skmei 1358 is a bargain for $33 (got it on Amazon US for this price not long ago). Great starter watch to play around with. :)
Worried the batteries will run out? No problem. I bought four packs (5 each) of *CR2032* batteries on Amazon, really cheap as well. I will likely own a Casio PRG-330 in the future, but this Skmei is amazing deal for such low price. I like both and will wear both no problem. I wear two watches right now, one is an automatic mechanical (self wind) watch from Forsining (cheap Chinese brand) that I got for $50. I wanted an analog on one arm and digital on the other. :) I still have not gotten enough desire to try out a "smart" watch just yet. I might try a cheap one out from Amazfit, I believe one going for $40 or so on Amazon (US) right now, and it looks 'vintage' 80s Casio in design, has 28 day life between charges, etc. Until then, I really like this Skmei 1358! I think it counts calories burned along with the pedometer. I have not tried that yet, but will soon.

Thanks for getting back to me with your own observations and experience. I appreciate that. I also hope you subscribed. If you already did - Thank You! As for the smart watches, I do not mind them being worn by someone else, but as for me - not a big fan. Only the fact that I have to charge them so often puts my right off of them.

@@chrispalacios_18 Hold down the top-right button and you can scroll through what you want being shown at the top there. Really neat little option they give you. :) The 'mountain' thing is the barometric pressure reading. Google search what barometric pressure means, and what it means when that line drops suddenly (means bad weather might be ahead, if memory correct).
