This, Ys Nordics and Gundam breaker 4 are now my most anticipated games now that rebirth is out.

since Nov 2023 till now I'm doing a marathon trails games, from Liberl arc, Crosbell arc, and finally I'm on Trails of cold steel IV...damn I really loved this franchise so much,, now I must finish Cold Steel IV and Trails into Reverie before July, so I can enjoy trails through daybreak.. So Excited!!!

It would be totally great if we could receive the Trails of cold steel that weren't localized, the Cold steel 1 and 2 Kai released on Jpn. That way we could play almost all of the trails games on switch (except for the Liberl Arc), I would love to buy the entire collection, even if cold steel 3 is not listed in my country's eshop (which is crazy, becouse the Crossbell arc, cold steel 4 and Reverie are available...) Falcom is a small Studio, but have a loyal fanbase
Played all previous 10 English entries of The Legend of Heroes (on Steam) and *ALL* of them were *AWESOME!*
I don't think there ever was a video game series that kept impressing me for that long. I hope the *streak continues* with this new entry in the franchise as well! :D
If you want Trails in the Sky, the only way that can happen is if they bring the Evo version over, since Xseed has the 'license' for the originals.
I started the franchise at Trails into Reverie, but as a relatively-new fan I'e found myself impressed with the storyline, the personalities of the characters, and what they stand for. If I were to pick modern-day heroes, my vote is for the SSS!
I still have to play Reverie but I'm looking forward to this. Excited to see Fie appear again as well

I just finished Trails in the Sky the 3rd Evolution and just started on Zero. Took me forever to get through the 3rd as my eyes aren't what they used to be and the fine details on my VITA are pretty hard to see. Gotta crank down that backlog!!

This game is the beginning of the Calvard arc, and while it does continue some plot threads from previous games, it was also designed as a jumping point for new players.

Cold steel 4 was the finale of that series and Reverie was an epilogue. Daybreak's a new series/arc so new country and party with some old faces returning.

Publisher issues (XSEED released Sky and the first 2 cold steel games while NISA did all of the others.)
They teased that they're doing a remake of a beloved game after they finish Calvard in Japan, so people are thinking they're gonna do remakes as a way to get them re-localized by the current company that has Trails and YS.
You're going to be waiting what is likely a very long time, if not in vain. PC is the only platforn Sky 3rd has ever launched on in the west, and PC has all the definitive versions of these games anyway, but if console is your choice regardless, you definitely do not _have_ to start with Sky. Many of the long-time western fans started with Cold Steel, and now you can start with Zero too.

It's still turn based if you want it to be that way. The action combat is just for fast grinding and taking down small fries. Boss battles forces you to use turn based combat.

The series has been around since 1989. The first game in the series was titled Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes. It spun off into it's own series afterwards.

You don’t *have* to, but it will inevitably spoil earlier entries. Since this is a start of a new arc most of the story is technically its own thing but there will be parts that build on already established plot threads
TL:DR: yes you can jump right in, but if you want a better and more cohesive experience you probably want to play previous entries first

Personally, I buy every switch game I play but like to dabble in emulation of games I have already bought on other platforms (e.g. playing under night 2 on my phone with a better controller than the switch has), so it sucks to see this happen. @@Unknown_User174 you see the PC version right now is the asia version has japanese audio and text, also corean and Chinese some hardcore fans made an English patch for it no only these one but the second one crimson sin, they are pretty much 90% complete only mising some random npc useless dialogs, for now when don't know what the localizers are going mess but going with their track record I know they will, there is some some spicy innuendo and even a scene on a bar with a pole dancer in underwear, I am sure they will remove for example

Most of Nintendo games doesn't have voice over which is big turn off to me. Plus, Nintendo dont have powerful device to support AAA games in the market. Changing colour and of each Nintendo model by introducing with different skin rather cheap marketing that Switch trying to boost sales. Despite, the ability of getting powerful hardware is unattended. If 2024 Switch didn't come up with powerful device, dont think can beat up the market. Even mobile device can produce way better gaming experience and now varies portable gaming device entered the market, Id say Switch is left behind.
