- After a stressful work week we escaped to the Central Oregon High Desert for some much needed R&R. Jason finds fatwood for starting fires, we check out some rock formations and explore more forest roads.
We're Jason and Denise and one of our absolute favorite things to do is explore the Pacific Northwest in our Land Cruiser 200 Series and our teardrop camper "Finn"
The Pacific Northwest has so much beauty around every turn and we're always blown away with what she has to show us.
We love sharing photos and experiences with family and friends who live far from us and this is how the channel began.

Yep! However the SD card I used wasn’t the best so the quality isn’t that great. I learned that after the fact and saw how poor the quality was. So next time I use it it should be better.

Hey, Guys, beautiful area. One of our favs. Totally understand the beauty of the wide open vistas! The balanced rocks/hoodoos are fascinating and as you could tell offer a nice photo composition with a bit of the Metolius arm of Billy Chinook Reservoir leading off into the distance towards Mount Hood. My understanding is that few people knew of the balanced rocks until a forest fire went through the area and left them exposed. Great area. We have been where you campsite was but we were just driving through and checking things out at the time. Great spot when it isn’t windy. ;-) As for those seasonal road closures, there are many of them around Central Oregon. They are primarily for the sake of the animals and they usually run through March. Sadly, I have seen people ignore them and go into those areas anyway. Glad to see that you respect those restrictions and the needs of the animals (birds, deer, etc.) during the winter. Thank you! Also, well done tackling the salsa mess. I could feel your pain! LOL.

Great video! What awning are you guys using over the galley on Finn? Is it a 270 deg?
Yep! The rhino rack batwing.
@@CoasttoCascadia Nice! Did you have to raise it up above the rack much to clear the hatch when opened? We've had a lot of people ask if a 270deg awning was possible.
Yes. We had to add some brackets to raise it about an inch and a half.
The Forest Service and BLM asks to please not cut branches off live trees, even dead branches while dispersed camping. Dead and down only.
The tree was burned and dead, we would never ever cut a live tree.
