I need to try this👌
Another good video kev👍🏻
Can you like this comment? It would mean a lot ,hello from USA
Thank you Kevin!
The wheels were spinning too fast when it landed with nearly no forward momentum, which sent massive torque through the drivetrain as they're forced to stop instantly.
The way you take our hobby seriously, but not too seriously is why this is my favorite channel!
me to
When you don't have to pay for anything out of pocket it makes it easier to not be so serious

I loved when you made the comment "your not supposed to hit bearings with a hammer!". And your answer to it was perfect, "don't worry, it's just a toy". Thank you for putting everything into proper perspective. You are great to watch, thank you.
Yeah, these “toys” often make grown men cry. 😭😂
It's not like hitting the outer race is likely to do a lot of damage in this case, but this is also pretty much an ideal situation to put the bearings in a freezer for a couple of hours and then use a vise and some sockets to push it in (if it doesn't just drop in after the freezing).
Quite satisfying watching you rebuild the transmission
Those landings where so clean. Shock setup is brilliant
To balance it I'd get softer rate springs but distribute the load over each of the two shocks.
almost like he owns and drives a real monster truck
except the one in the beginning when he pulled it out of the van and it landed on the front left wheel in a way that looked like something was going to break.....solid build.
Hello Kevin, I am Roberto, yuor italian fan. I'm 46 and my family and I love so much to watch your videos. I really want to change my Life as much as you did and you are doing with eBay. I'm so tired to do my job as I work in a supermarket and everytime I come home I think how to do to change my situation. You are what I want to be for me and my family.
go for it dude!!
Please, show me the direction, do I have to do your eBay course? Thank you so much Kevin!!!
you dont have to do my course but it will help you
mind blown with that bearing removing trick, awesome
I see you put double sealed bearings in the gearbox, try leaving the inner seals off so grease/oil can get in and keep them lubed.
Also it might be an idea to upgrade the high load bearings from deep groove to roller bearings so they can handle the power.
Using a gel ear plug to remove a blind bearing is utter genius. 👏👏👏
Agreed.
Never buying a bearing puller again, Kevins a genius for that one
I always use bread for it.really old trick
It's called hydraulic pressure.
Its Not Genius its common
That raminators an absolute Beast it's got to be quite a spectacle to see it launch like that in real life I remember the first time I seen a x maxx launching up into the air and it was just astonishing to see this would just blow my mind I'm sure
I like your video's of mahem and destruction. But I like the ones where you fix stuff even more. I am already proud of myself for just building a simple Tamiya. Your builds are awesome.
That old pilot bearing trick works every time.
Think I'd pop those bearing seals for good and let the oil in the transmission lubricate them continuously. Love the trick to get the bearing out of the blind hole, never seen that before. I'd have been there forever using heat/reverse pliers.
3:50 glad to see that worked. I read that bread works too. I had to do the same for a router I have but there was an edge underneath and I was able to get a tiny puller in that I have.
Bread works great- used it to get a pilot bearing out of the end of a crankshaft. The other readily available substance is bar soap.
Always impressed with Kevin’s mechanic skills. 🔧
Kevin wow, I have not seen anyone else do that ( pressurizing the bearing )since I had to do that in 1990. I was rebuilding my Chevy S-10 engine. That is for sure a deep cut trick! Love it…
Seeing the ram on the workbench really put into prospective the size of it wow its massive..and looks like kevs got the suspension dialled in now nice 👍
That silicone bearing removal tip was awesome. Not sure if I will ever use it but, i would of never thought it could be done like that.
bread does same
This size of scale is so awesome to work in, you get to use power tools, and you get more room to work in and don't need a massive workspace
That was a lot of fun to watch. I just love looking at all those machined parts. I think someone needs to tell the good folk at Raminator, and possibly any aftermarket parts makers, to put small radiuses everywhere there is a sharp corner on their shafts and driveline components. Maybe dial it back a notch on hardening processes too.
Maybe then things won't snap as much. It's quite the engineering challenge to make something that big and heavy be durable as well.
Kev, it really is impressive how much knowledge you've gained over the years. Love watching your content, I don't quite have the budget you do ;) but even as an older gent I've learned to appreciate the hobby. One of the added benefits, my dogs absolutely love chasing my car around the yard. It really gets them needed exercise.
Do what I do, go follow your car around too and YOU can get needed exercise!
Love your videos! What I think would be a cool video idea is making a body shell for your $10,000 rc car that looks like your monster truck that you have in real life
That RAMMER of yours KEV....
IS 'DA-B💣MB!'👍
🤘🇦🇺🤘
Personally, I feel kind of wary about the way the transmission on that only uses grease. I probably would have sealed it with gasket maker and filled it with gear oil. The grease does seem to hold up fine though.
We need to see more of Max's stuff. His Xmaxx did not disappoint with those massive jumps
Yeah I’d agree , start a channel so he can help pay for all these cars he’s launches into oblivion fun to watch
Those shocks are amazing job well done Kevin
3:35 Kev taking advantage of physics!
I can appreciate the quality of this build!
finally, a longer video!
Biggest Raminator Air FOR SURE!! 🚀
I Think Thunder RC went biggest before this one, now this is the highest for sure Kev
Kudos to you for that Suspension setup... You nailed it with drilling out the pistons a bit and only one set of springs😍😍😎👍
See ya round brother
thanks bro! yeah she lands good now!
Hey kev! I use the trick you did with the silicone ear plugs a lot, but I typically use bread, and wet it. It’s messy but it works every time!
I loved that you showcased your dewalts, grabbed one tried it didn’t work threw it in the garbage then went for a 12volt Milwaukee. Best thing ever mate. Milwaukee all the way, out beats any 18 or 20 volt dewalt makita or ridgid!
Always love Kev's videos, his fearless tweaks, upgrades and rebuilds are always interesting.
Max needs a CZcams I’m definitely subscribing when he starts
The x-maxx a-arms like to break where the shock attaches. If you replace the captured pins with bolts with nuts it holds up much better. Just have to remove the pin, drill hole all the way thru and then insert bolt
The balance of that thing is unreal jumps perfect
Awesome kev, the suspension is looking really good now. I really liked the tips for pushing that bearing out.
Old school method was to use bread - ahh technology eh. =)
Wow!!! I'm shocked on how smooth that beast lands now, with that upgrade! Thanks for another Great video 🙂
I was deeply impressed when you pulled out the bearing with the silicone earplug method. chapeau.
Kev, check out Redline oils suspension fluids. They list CST ratings below 100. I think they're for racecar/dirt bike shocks & forks.
Very satisfying video for those who haven't gotten into RC vehicles yet, or those who want to come out of retirement.
Nobody does it like you!!! Love everything you do!
thanks bro appreciate it
Cool jump!! Great landing! Glad it was not badly damaged.
Soooo good.. You could tell how loud it was by how quiet kev was hahaha
I feel like landing it under power is what caused the break at the end. Too much torque and a surge of resistance caused something to let go.
Awesome tech tip for getting that bearing out Kev!
Bro that barring removal trick was awesome!!
When changing o-rings in the shocks, don't forget to apply o-ring grease to them. It makes the movement of the shaft butter smooth.
I've never liked how bouncy those trucks are which is why Ive never wanted one, but that shock upgrade made a huge difference, looks decent when landing. The other thing is, you better have some money cause that damn thing is expensive! Great job on the shock upgrade that's the 1st time I've seem anyone do that!
That dual shock set up was amazing.
That thing lands perfectly every time, Awsome.
3:15 - Use white bread to take the bearing out. Old trick to get pilot bearings out of transmissions. Just stick some bread where the hole in the bearing is and then press. continue the process and the bread will push the bearing out.
That is the coolest RC car I've ever seen
The Raminator sure is one sweet truck, love it 😀
That guy Max seems like a cool addition to the group! Anyone that launches an xmax to the moon is good in my book 👍🏼
have'nt had a truck since my Tmaxx 2.5 and 3.3. Started back in the day of the RC10GT! Man have they come a long way! now I want a new one! Great video bud! Also I think what killed it was him revving it before landing... MASSIVE stress on tranny.
That landed perfectly with that shock upgrade.
I wish I knew that trick for the bearing before! Great video :D
That thing legit looks and acts like a real monster truck in the way the suspension moves and body rolls around. What a wicked little truck!
Simply amazing Good Job Well Done!
This truck is awesome Kevin your a mechanical genius
Kev has become quite the RC expert. Phenomenal video Kev, nice landings! That thing has some plush suspension now!
Kev.
You should engineer a replica of your real monster truck, and license it to an RC company so we can drive it!
Removing the seal on a sealed bearing and adding grease is over greasing the bearing. The end result creates a bearing that will run hotter than an ungreased bearing. To much grease creates friction which turns into heat. No hate just knowledge I’ve learned in my trade. The trick to get that bearing out was great tho and I can use/test in my profession.
That thing landed so nice for the size of it. If it were me it would have landed upside down and broke everything. Great video
Would love to see a channel from max keep persuading him kev!
3:25 great teacher Kev! always blessing us!
Hey me again the monsters truck mechanic when you bent your bar an gave you advice on how to setup you truck. We use these as test trucks for big jumps or shows setup for backyard events. This will help you get better as a drive also get your self a little camera go f.p.v. Inside the cab. Gets you used using the tires to handle the truck. Just letting you I was hoping it drove away but then again like all new guys never overcompensating for what might happen. Over build it and you'll never break a thing and you will have a lot of fun and less maintenance. Have a good day bud great show
You are the best Kevin !
Most epic rc jump EVER!!!! Scared me with those slow motion landings thinking something was wrong, just waiting for the gta death music 🤣
The thing about removing bearings with silicon ear plugs is actually amazing! I will remember that one - Thanks Kev!
Bread works perfectly too
Excellent call with the double shocks.
Have you thought about putting a moped or a small motorcycle muffler on the raminator? Would be an interesting upgrade video😁
2nd shock set really works well. They way that Ram handles now looks more like a Monster Jam real truck.
Kevin Talbot is brilliant his videos are always fun.
Get yourself an ultrasonic cleaner Kev! They work great for cleaning small parts quickly! It had saved me a bunch of time cleaning parts for my rc's and my small engines carburetors
After watching you for 3 years now, and starting my own little channel. The biggest thing you've taught me is that, consistency is key! And you are by far the most consistent youtuber on the planet! Thanks for the years of inspiration and entertainment💨💨🏎🚘
As consistent as he may be, no way is he the most consistent CZcamsr on the planet as you put it, there are channels that upload multiple times a day every day every single day, so they would be more consistent, just thot I'd let ya know that making certainty claims such as that isn't wise unless your certain it's true........
@@diychad7268 You sound like a hater man! I don't subscribe to "every" CZcams channel. So "for me" he's the most consistent. I'm just giving props the way I see it, others may see it differently. But I said what I said💯 #MostConsistentRcChannel
@@diychad7268 Posting ten tiktoks a day isn't the same as posting several videos a week with each video taking multiple hours if not days or weeks or months.
This is the content we all know and love !
Good on ya Kev, never fails to make me smile.
Good one Kev, neat bearing trick👍🏻
Kev, You might find you need Nitrile or Viton O rings if you’re using mineral oil. I’m sure it degrades normal rubber pretty quick.
You’re an inspiration to the community. Love your videos!
You did a great job Kevin.
You are my favorite RC CZcamsr keep up the good work and please team up with whistlin diesel and take your monster truck over there and do a poll test you can win
I died at the DeWalt diss 💀
Edit: if you’ve got nothing else on hand, bread works to pop out bearings as well 💯
Yess!! This is what we've been waiting for 😜 kev send it to the 🌲😜
love the suspension on that thing
I remember seeing a video from chrisfix and he did a similar thing with a pilot bearing except with grease and bread
“Kev you’re not supposed to hit bearings!”
Don’t worry, it’s just a $10,000 toy 😎
Great filming shots and angles!
Love that silicone bearing extraction trick!
That ladies face after hearing the raminator startup means you’ve done it right! Well done kev
No
Awesome, if you don't have those ear plugs kicking around bread will also work for getting a bearing like that out
love your content kev thanks for all the rc content
Looks good Kev keep it up 👍
I know you love the noise but have you ever thought about putting a muffler on it so you can drive it more places? You could put something between where the muffler connects to bypass the muffler in places that don't care about the extra noise.
That method for removing the bearing is really quite clever
Nice tip on how to get the bearing out using the ear plug Kevin. I didn't know that one. :)
Man what a shame it was doing so well absolutely epic
