Little known fact: Stewart has gotten so good at being in multiple places at once that he's never missed the movie trailers WHILE getting his popcorn and soda!
Along with the fact that Stewart is an incredible musician and composer, he had the good fortune of having been taught the essential basics of proper technique and touch on the drums from early in his playing. It shows.
Happy 70th, Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner born Northumberland, 2 October 1951. Originally, a Jazz player in college. Moved to Newcastle and met up with the other members and formed The Police. And the rest is history.. Many, many more Gordon.
Too bad Jen. I knew I had to see them when they re-formed. I think it was farewell rather than re-union. I was too young the first time round but I promised myself I would see them if they re-formed. The first record I ever bought was message in a bottle. I got ripped off by a scammer on eBay who had two spare tickets for the Cardiff gig. I paid £60 but never saw these tickets. I even booked a hotel and a holiday in Wales softer it. I made sure that I got tickets for the Manchester gig from Ticketmaster to make sure I didn’t miss them again.
Yes, they are all great musicians... but lets be honest, there are upwards of 10 musicians on that stage (or behind) producing that sound. Music created by "The Police", is not from only 3 people. Nasty little secret.
@@ivanbarria1714 No, I'm not "nut". Ok, so they couldn't get the whole band to Chile, in 1982... shocking. So who played the keyboards on Wrapped around your finger? Syncronicity 2? Spirits in the Material world? Or Sax on the same? There are many more.... So, want to rethink your stance?
@@ckmoore101 I see you know very little about band. Your surprise about the sound turned into incredulity only. well I introduce you to the band. They are The police.
Because he is a proper drummer.....still rate seeing them in 83 on the Syncronicity tour as the best concert i have been too.....AND thats over a Hundred now
Esta cancion en especial tiene una magia, una sinfonía grata y placentera que en lo particular, la destaco. Lo que en consecuencia la hace de facil acogida al oido, mas que otras
I'm afraid my second Sting project failed :((. Last year He caught flu a week before the gig, this year the tickets ended up... I'll wait for a miracle anyway.
There are mysterious backing vocals all over this tour. I think Sting's son sang some of them back stage. On Syncronicity 2 on this tour you can clearly hear multitracked Sting on the oh oh ohhhh section. Multiple Stings. They must be samples or they were on click for certain songs in the set list and the bvs were on protools pre recorded.
@ Sounds about right - don't know if I'd want Andy or Stewart on backing vocals. Surprised they didn't bring any backing vocalists (like they did Sychro Tour)
Think its technology doing that , I think they would have better with backing singers . There is evidence from the syncronicity tour that Stingo was using tracks to double his voice .

Sting's bass playing is like its an afterthought. Summers is incredible.
Andy just throws in these harmonic flourishes that are just perfect. Guy is underrated and incredible!
Absolutely Agree ! He was so awesome when I was growing up in the 80s.. I had him on my wall!
Parts of it remind me of Alex Lifeson's guitar work on A Show of Hands. Maybe it has something to do with 3 piece bands haha.
Cheers xo
SXI96 and guitarists who know how to actually play! ;) i hear it too tho.
There's no hiding in a 3 piece and Andy was amazing in how he connected the other 2.
King of pain, its a work of art, a song to be rememberd for thounsands of years to come!!!
My favorite Sting police because my brother calls me the "King of Pain"

Say what you like about Sting the man looks and sounds great for his age.
Yeah dude, Sting looks and sounds great for his age
The Police are amazing ! I only wish I had seen them in concert. One of my favorite bands.

The chemistry between these 3 for what they do is unreal

Am I the only one that thinks that Stewart's drumstick twirls at 1:17 are badass
+The Handsome Nipple™ Hes one hell of a drummer!

Essa música além Maravilhosa, é muito especial para mim.
Still can't believe how big this tour was.

Sensacional Fantastics.
My God....what a song
Copeland nails this!
eu tava lá vendendo pipoca
Con gusto hubiese sido tu asistente
Probably the most musical 3 piece band, ever!
Awesome musicians!
I think Stewart have some vocals. He's singing the line "There's my soul up there".
True
simply top music
Love you Brother
Toda vez que vejo o Sting tocar imagino o calo que ele deve ter no dedão direito.
Sweet 🌞
Brilliant!

POLICE 2007 IN RIO"KING OF PAIN".
Underrated version
Tom Ellis, damn you, you influenced me with this effing badass song
Andy is all I can say on this one.
the king of pain is me....
=(
Tight!
Rick Beato brought me here
Great song. The version with Lady Gaga is worth checking out if you haven't seen it. 😊
Great song.. Better live.. Thanks...
no pain no gain
Quality, no lip sinking shit here.
Not on the lead vocal, but those back-up vocals are pre-recorded. Lame.
Stewart goes to work!
Mierda! Qué versión papá!
i am also a king of pain
Simplesmente fantástico ❤
This is is 3 Alpha Males at the TOP of their craft just destroying it!

I really missed the keyboards on this tour
Queen of pain😅❤
What year was this? ✨✨
Whats with the bass?
Y no sabes ninguna de Moris? es que como hay tan poco donde elegir. ;)
Eu só tava lá msm
Andy's twin playing on 3:04 ??
Octavio Oviedo hahaha ghost
Hi Hat backing track in the beginning of the song ?
They always started the song live with a beatbox sequence with Stewart doing the percussion.

Ischgel heli falls down. I was there. Lucky ´he allive
Who's singing the backing vocals on the chorus??
Maybe Copeland
Who is singing the backing part at "That's my soul up there" during the 2nd & 3rd versus?
@Rusty Kuntz
Sting obviusly. In live it was always that way. Sting in backing voice.
Stewart Copeland 👍

maybe sampled by the foot pedals.
Who tf mixed this audio for this video? Snare drum is drowned 90% of the time.
corrigindo, Police se apresentou em 1985 no Rio de Janeiro.
vc é burro ou o q?
Is that Stewart on background vocals - or added later?
They used playback for backing vocals. And played over a click track so it stayed in sync
@ Sounds about right - don't know if I'd want Andy or Stewart on backing vocals. Surprised they didn't bring any backing vocalists (like they did Sychro Tour)
Can you imagine how many air miles Sting must have! 😂
Just me who gets a headache from too quick flicking between the cameras?
kid's of pain
wai, who is singing backgorund in the verses, i dont see andy and steward doing it
Using a backing track is okay, even Les Paul and Mary Ford did it.
It sounds like Sting himself. This is common for backing tracks. You don't tend to clash much next to your own voice.
what are those two chords at 1:31 ?
G, G7
Does steward sing the backings?
