  • The Car feels a little bit livelier but not by a lot. The sound is nice, by the way every other thing is stock. You can hear turbo both inside and outside the car with it. Sound level is not disturbing while driving, personally I feel like this cone air filter is a nice airbox filter replacement that makes a car sound more sporty.

    It is only a filter, not a whole intake set?

    Advice: go with a complete cold air intake system not the short ram

    How has the filter been for you? I just installed mine and get that same awesome flutter sound, but some people have been telling me it will ruin my turbo. Has it given you any problems?

      People are dumb, it won't ruin your turbo, PLENTY of people have installed Short Ram Intakes on their VW/Audis/ Every other car under the sun. You need to upgrade this anyway if you go stage 2. The only thing I would suggest is building a heat shield to mitigate the amount of hot air/extra gunk that will sucked into your car. It's relatively easy, people build them out of all sorts of materials, one guy actually cut up a plastic trash bin from walmart to build it. I have a TT roadster and am planning to do the same thing.

      People cant understand the difference between close throttle flutter and open throttle flutter. Simply put, if you flutter while accelerating and on boost, that will ruin the turbo. If you hear the flutter only when you take your foot of the throttle, that wont do anything, just a nice sound

      @@HagakureJunkie Yeah I've run the same filter, the air delivery is louder so you can hear it in the car. Great during winter or cold months but summer time it will add hot air so more beneficial to run a pipe under the head light for colder air

      I have it and it can ruin your maf sensor, I say get the Ram Air kit instead. Most people with (tuned)1.8T engine prefer the Ram Air kit. I am going to get it too! And also k&n does not come with a heat shield or proper mounting. Mine snapped off that one mounting spot it had.

    How is this cold air intake.... this is a short ram intake. sucking in the warm air off your engine. cold air sucks air from outside your car. and that exhaust drip cant be good

      Apache Lodge there is pipe installed underneath battery to provide cold air, well my bad at misinterpretation the filter can be found here: www.knfilters.com/mobile/mProduct.aspx?prod=57-0477

    • @DaytonCarCare

      Actually a proper CAI intake kit would have a pipe running from the MAF down to the front of the car between the bumper and front wheel. This is just a cone filter kit. ;)

      Mk1 TT is well known for huge condensation of water in exhaus system. They all do that

    • @HagakureJunkie
      @HagakureJunkie Před 5 lety

      True, except these cars are so stifled and restricted. That's why stage 2, with a simple downpipe, diverter valve, exhaust and an intake can yield nearly 100+ horsepower on a tune. Not even kidding, Stage 2 for a 180hp FWD TT pushes it to around 270hp and 240tq
