  • Minnesota's Grandpa Moses
    (1882-1976)
Arnold Kramer was nicknamed Minnesota's Grandpa Moses by the University of Minnesota during the hey-day of his painting career in the 1960's. A self-taught artist, he completed over 300 pieces in a style referred to as naive. His work was reminiscent of paintings done by Anna Mary Robertson Moses (1860- 1961), another self-taught artist, from New England, whose work is still extremely popular among collectors.

Hey there cousin. It's nice to hear from you. I bet you visited the Maurice Kramer family in Vesta. It was fun putting the video together. I had not seen most of the paintings on the Arnold Kramer website until I started looking around for them. My mom has often mentioned your grandpa. They were a pretty close family.
Best regards - Beth. Arnold's Granddaughter.
