I personally believe the gurukul education system should be integrated in the Indian education system, Standalone it might have some gaps inducting in the modern education would certainly make children in understanding the concept of a balanced life.

Old guru gurukul system along with modern education is the way to get a balanced view of life.

To your question: if you look around the (material) world today, you can see that under the colourful, glittering surface there are wars, environmental disasters, hardship, hatred and lies everywhere. The Kali Yuga, as many people know.
That in the Gurukul children can learn how to react to the challenges of the dark age and return to God is so comforting and wonderful! Especially at this time, the Gurukul schools are existential. Mataji, being an Indian Vedic Sanatani, I am clearly telling you and the devotees of all western countries that the Vedic Gurukul system of ancient India was neither old nor limited, nor should the knowledge of the western education system be limited. It may be outdated and useless but Indian Vedic knowledge is still more ancient and deeper than the depths of the infinite universe.

We need to patronize such noble pathways as a society as well. This is what Kings and rich people in the old days did, they donated to Gurukuls, temples, Ashramas and sent their kids there to learn alongside kids from all walks of life.
In corporate world, we sometime say to progress further we need to get back to the basics. because the basics are the building block. Gurukul system is like going back to the basics.

Modern education system is designed to create workers for industries and few learn how to create industries. Whole system came from demands of industrialization.
There is zero talk about self or happiness. All we generate is frustrated people who are deeply unhappy.
Even after gurukulas vanished, even illiterate Indians in the past used to be very happy. I still remember women and men used to start work by 5 am. Be done by noon. Take nap and do light work at 4. From 5, women used to dress up nicely with flowers. Everyone laugh and socialize till 6/7. Sleep by 7:30 or so. Listening to stories in festivals and having pure devotion was common.
Now all gone with modern education system. I am not opposing education, I deeply respect/love every subject including science. But people are doing basic mistakes in life. They don’t know anything about life.

I think old values need to be protected.Cause modern life is basically only about technically changes,and learning about everything a bit but mostly no culture in it.Some people think old must be changed into new that's not true old must stay old in it's value.Then people can choose what are they familiar with old or new ways.I think gurukul is a cool system.Vedic knowledge is soo important.

I will not say outdated. But if we see nowadays if somebody wants to live a financially well life, then material education is a must but along with that spiritual education must be gradually integrated into the present day education. Spirituality is not an option but it is a necessity for us.

Traditionally girls never went to gurukuls as far as I know. They were home schooled instead.
"Bring the change" ..... whatever you want to do you can do it and feel empowered.
The consumer world talks like this, but this is the opposite of Prabhupada.
For Prabhupada, everyone is silent and only Krishna speaks, and only Krishna acts.
There is no need for any teachers, Prabhupada is still the teacher.
Bullock Cart is certainly outdated, it's not necessary, there used to be a time when it was relevant but now it has no significance.
So what will you do with the bulls?
